Given Bowe was injured too, Monye and Fitzgerald may well feature in the final test. Certainly in the 22 as that's about all that's left!

Mick Mac Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > im with daizie. Dont agree with it under any > circumstances. And i do have children. Mick, my time of ever slapping a child has long gone. He's now 18 and could slap me harder if necessary. However there have been a few times in the past when I'm sure I slapped him. I would make a distinction between losing the plot and teaching a lesson. The former is not acceptable but the latter has sometimes been required. Given his current age and disposition I don't think he has been harmed. Children test the boundaries by being naughty. They need to know where they are to feel secure. This probably belongs on another thread, but if I was ever to quote something he said in his youth it would be the phonecall I took at 3pm on cup final day when ManU played Millwall. He had gone to the park with a few friends who were confronted by a gang of youths. One of the friends had his Ipod stolen. My son in their retreat hid his mobile in the grass so it wouldn't be taken. The phone rang.........'Dad, there's no need to worry but.........I'm in the back of a police van.' He was taken to the station to give a statement as the gang were caught by a phonecall made to the police by one of the girls he was with. Mick, if can get through their childhoods without ever slapping them (or your partner) then you must be congratulated. As for Daizie starting the thread due to boredom.......haven't you found a boyfriend yet to occupy you?

I'd go for the rugby if you could guarantee the result Phil!

The only thing about the third test that will please me is that several other guys who haven't had a chance, will now. It doesn't mean I don't think the best team wasn't picked but I'd like to see the likes of D'arcy and Flutey given a go and even the Bull Hayes. Bull v Beast.......could be wrestling. Where's the local SA with the Irish name when you want another opinion? PS Please let O'Gara redeem himself. He must feel like he lost it but I thought that the pen conceded just before half time could come back to haunt us. It did. Edited for spelling

Do you know WHY the child was slapped? I would slap my child if I thought it would teach them an important lesson. Rather that than they put their hand in the fire to see how hot it was.

Well Fitzgerald is 6'1"..........if that's small I'm a Dutchman! He is 1" smaller than Monye and 7lbs lighter. In the two tests the Lions scored 4 tries. Which one of them had to do with power and not jinking runs?
-
I don't understand your point about Monye? What would he have brought to the game? Fitzgerald didn't do anything wrong and held on to the ball when needed. Shane Williams only came on because both centres went off injured. Hook would have been better than O'Gara as an option. MOTM either Shaw or Kearney. I reckon we will be stuffed in the final test given the likely large number of changes required.
-
I'd blame the pen conceded just before half time as being more at fault though ROG didn't help at the end.
-
I was more impressed with Earls but he wont get picked. On the 50/50 high balls he is a little short but what a good runner with the ball and a great try. I'm not sure Fitzgerald did enough. his kicking can be suspect. If Byrne is fit we might see Kearney on the wing.
-
I'm not sure about Monye and would prefer Fitzgerald or Kearney on the wing if Byrne is'nt fit. If Jones is at flyhalf just because he knows Phillips well, then I'd give O'Gara a chance. He may have kicked the goals that might have won the test. However the problem was in the forwards and Vickery proved to be a poor choice. I like Powell though he is a bit of a headless chicken but his physical presence might be good.. Maybe Nathen Hines in the second row too. The worst thing about the match was Rees (I think) hitting Habana off the ball and conceding a penalty when we were in a great position. Shame about Byrne been penalised for 'crossing' as it would have been a wonderful try.

Look - it's getting silly now. (ED incidents)

I had my blue box contents emptied into my wheely bin. Should I start a thread and what would I name it? -

You are asking for a lot without saying what you are offering. How about a CV Daizie?

I'm more optimistic than you Matthew. Imagine how many Lions supporters will be in the crowd. Will never have happened to the Boks before, playing at home. Also they will be undercooked from having very little game time.If the Lions perform to the level of the individuals involved, as a team, I reckon they will win. Now the others Tests are a different kettle of fish. Remember what the odds were on the Lions with and without handicap?

Money It is August. In a small town on the South Coast of France, holiday season is in full swing, but it is raining so there is not too much business happening. Everyone is heavily in debt. Luckily, a rich Russian tourist arrives in the foyer of the small local hotel. He asks for a room and puts a 100 euro note on the reception counter, takes a key and goes to inspect the room located up the stairs on the third floor. The hotel owner takes the banknote in hurry and rushes to his meat supplier to whom he owes 100 euro. The butcher takes the money and races to his wholesale supplier to pay his debt. The wholesaler rushes to the farmer to pay 100 euro for pigs he purchased some time ago. The farmer triumphantly gives the 100 euro note to a local prostitute who gave him her services on credit. The prostitute goes quickly to the hotel, as she owed the hotel for her hourly room use to entertain clients. At that moment, the rich Russian is coming down to reception and informs the hotel owner that the proposed room is unsatisfactory and takes his 100 euro back and departs. There was no profit or income. But everyone no longer has any debt and the small town people look optimistically towards their future. COULD THIS BE THE SOLUTION TO THE Global Financial Crisis? Or, is there a catch here?

To the lady sticking her fingers up to Sly and Reggie

Could you clarify that please? -
Is it not true to say that the measure of one or the other is what you think you have lost by being one or the other? Otherwise you would not ask the question. Sometimes you don't know that at the time. I'd say neither is 'best' but as others have said it's down to your experiences. They must teach you something but hopefully not at the cost of being suspicious of everyone.

Aren't babies likely to pee in a pool?

I not convinced by Ugo but that could be just from what I've read. Croft was impressive and must be in with a shout. Agree with Byrne and Mears, though shame about Flannery. Most interesting will be the fly half's spot as Hook has done nothing wrong. Given his adaptability it's possible Jones or O'Gara might not make it into the 22. PS Mick, another thread has started with the correct title
