  1. That's nothing. I recently had to work for a guy with long fingernails which were filthy dirty who insisted on using my keyboard. Yech. Makes me wonder how clean those lovely painted ladies fingernails are underneath?
  2. ............and I thought you were concerned about him going to Uni? Presumably he qualified for their by going to school for several years. The lad just needs a rest.
  3. You can't realistically expect him to be up at 10 if he went to bed at 5. Have you any idea what time he goes to bed at? If so add about 10 hours and lo and behold he will be up fully refreshed. I bet he has the internet in his room. Am I right?
  4. Discussion now required on this. Will be back but thanks so far!
  5. No I don't Mick. Bogtrotters game I have a slight interest in.
  6. I'd have thought so if it was by 8 points. Who is in the football final? Down I think and not the bl**dy Dubs I hope!
  7. Fact is I don't know KK. I have MS Office Home & Student 2007 but Netbooks don't have a CD/DVD drive I understand.
  8. Well you must admit you have all the cliches!
  9. Well the user in this instance has the option of having a (mains connected) laptop in his room but the need for something else is that the laptop is quite old and it's battery life is next to nothing. I guess the battery could be replaced with a new one. Apart from that the laptop is fine though possibly hasn't a great deal of memory and is quite heavy. Given your 2nd paragraph Sean I wonder what the point is myself as it's not its intended purpose? It's supposed to replace what once was pen and paper I guess. Any ideas on light inexpensive laptops?
  10. Thanks HAL9000 but what would all else failing mean? Do these chappies come with WP's and rudimentary (to borrow Sean's word) spreadsheets of their own, do you know?
  11. The two do go hand in hand as it were. Has your proposed date only got one then? That's a lot of info to have prior to meeting.
  12. Thanks Sean though the point of the Netbook would be it's size, less bulky than a laptop. The reviews I've read just don't seem to tell you what's included apart from stating a lot of unnecessary software for those who just wish to surf or send emails.
  13. Neither was that!
  14. Oh dear......sorry Mr.Admin. Wasn't very diplomatic of me.
  15. You must work for a tabloid Matthew. Even if it were true who of the general public cares?
  16. Well you geeks weren't much help with my last problem but perhaps you will be able to offer advice with this one! Netbooks. I'm thinking of buying a Samsung N210 for my soon to be attending lectures type of son. Am I right in thinking that given word and excel might be basic requirements and they don't come with the packages (or do they?) how does one install the disks I have on a netbook as it doesn't have a CD drive? Help!
  17. No need to despair WOD. My son is the same and he's off to Uni in two weeks. He has had a gap year which allowed him sleep as much as he wanted most of the time. This often meant him going to bed when I was getting up. He's not cured but the fact is he will sleep when he needs to and if he has had to get up he usually did. Having a computer in his room probably did him no favours in respect of his body clock behaving like a 'normal' person's but you just have to accept that he has a mind of his own and give him the benefit of not being (too) stupid. You can't win this battle and certainly not now when time is of the essence. He will adapt I'm sure.
  18. I'm doing more looking up than out at the moment Mick.
  19. I don't think this problem is only a bedlinen one as I've noticed the same on the collar of a white shirt and a white top. Maybe its rust?

That remark is just vegism of the worst type you boring meat eater.
  21. Like Mick said, I was very lucky one Tuesday when I didn't enter the zone. I'd completely forgotten to pay the charge. It's strange because on the same day I forgot to buy a plane ticket to Miami, and missed the flight. They say these things come in three's so I'm dreading a letter landing on my doorstep with some fine or other. It will be the other one I forgot. What's worse is I've no idea how much it will be.
