The rather nice Slate Chippings have been bought and liberally placed around replanted plants in troughs and hanging baskets. 3 floors up, the home-loving cat watches the activity on the balconies through the glass panels in the balcony door, from the safety of her bed thereby. This one's lovely - Princess Anne told it herself (she told me never to namedrop but there you are). Has it licencing to be a club? I mean, if it is a public house it does not have the right to charge for entry under the licensing rules for pubs. I think. Again, a complaint/enquiry to Southwark Council should help. IF you can get past their CallCentreFromHell!

I love squirrels too! And I feed them in the park. In the PARK. Where they belong. Not 3 floors up my flat desecrating me sunflowers and rose bushes and all me other flowers. Any ideas? I haven't the heart to trap them either. But I am losing it. I am I am.

So how do I prevent squirrels climbing up 3 floors to my balconies and ruining my flower and plant pots and troughs. Eh? Eh? My cat is TERRIFIED of squirrels. And pigeons, and all the other birds who go to my squirrel proof bird feeders. But these squirrels are causing havoc. Should I use a mousetrap? I am beginning to feel reeeeeeeeeally mean about the bastards. We've poured a little oil on the drainpipe in the hope the squirrels will slide back down but of course they just climb up the brickwork. Probably wrong thread, but as you're all thinking about pests I thought I'd ask!

Read this thread with interest. You can't create atmosphere can you? Only the people who visit, can. I know decor and lighting create atmosphere but they're things that can be changed with the types of people coming. I would ask for to NOT have music. Sorry but lots of pubs and bars do music and even my beloved Clockhouse has fabulous music (lots of rock from 70s 80s and contemporary stuff too) but they do at least have the music turned down low so you can have a good conversation should you so wish. Music creates atmosphere of course too. So it's all a balancing act innit. I really wish you well with this Nico and look forward to what happens. I am a real ale drinker and also cider does me nice as well so please offer more than one type of real ale also as requested by someone else above!

Hi Yes I heard that item on You and Yours on Radio Four. In my case UKPC have simply have not proven the case, refused to answer my reasonable questions, and are bullying. A great forum consumeractiongroup.co.uk is highly recommended for anyone else and have been helpful to me. But as for the Seat car - DVLA shouldn't be advertising private companies! I am appalled at the neighbours being upset at the noise from the kids. I would be oh so nice to the neighbours try and make them feel guilty. Have a cake making afternoon and offer the nice cakes to your neighbours. If the kids are old enough and the neighbours very old enough, tell them you are thinking of taking your kids to first aid classes which could be very useful in the future....

OK opinions sought. DVLA sold my information albeit for only ?2.50 to a very dodgy car parking company who had no right to have it, as they are bullying and their methods appear very against recommendations set out in various laws. Since I was not the person driving the vehicle at the time, I almost look forward to a day in court, since they have now had debt collection agency writing to me and they will no doubt take that further. (If you are legally riding someone else's vehicle and cause an accident or break the law somehow, it's you not the owner of the vehicle in trouble, right?) Anyway, further and separate to the above, I have just received my tax disc reminder and - like my tax itself and everything else - I support my local (now getting further away) post office so I pay my tax and tax disc there. But DVLA now offer me a chance of a prize of a Seat CAR if I pay on line, saying they want to encourage the move to a low emission vehicle. I ride a little motorcycle. It may even be an electric scooter (it's not, but they don't know that as they put these sheets in all their letters). They reckon the offer of a free prize draw is innovative for a government agency. No, it's not. It's a government agency selling out with advertising. Naive, I know. But it's still wrong! Discuss.

I like inclusivity. Including trying to read the sign language of the deaf people I see in pubs in Lordship Lane sometimes. If all pubs and bars are gay friendly (and I think in ED they seem to be) what's the problem? Bars and pubs are having a seriously bad time at the moment and they need to be attractive to everyone. I like the idea of going into a pub and seeing all sorts of people in there, except, of course, screaming kids.... (FHT the other night)! If a gay bar means screaming kids are absent I'll go in there too/instead ;)
