  1. So all the events may run late while people are in massive queues trying to get their tickets? Oh no!
  2. Wetherspoons pubs. I worked for the architects when they first started and they were different and nice, but then they just got so big and 'corporate', and became upmarket creches. Good points above ????!
  3. I would use the Post Office, every time.
  4. NewNun that is so sad and of course now you have heard he died you will be incredibly sad and upset as you would have been one of the last people to see him and you would have done everything you could. Maybe you should talk to someone who knew him as you could be a comfort to one another. Maybe PM bonniebird or someone who knew him. It is indeed very sad. PS for anyone that knows me and mine, it wasn't 'my' David.
  5. Yet he calls himself Esquire. Technically doesn't that mean he's been to university?! Anyway, at least he contributed. Come back and let's discuss this and found out what we all agree with, not to concentrate on our differences R J Moore!
  6. Go into the library or Chener Books. John Beasley is bound to have written about it in one of his books!
  7. I saw them too and thought the same thing. 'Cept I did not know what they were called. Beautiful aren't they! Next to the pop up Dog!
  8. I agree with the above, and also, trust your instincts! And watch the Mike Leigh Film Happy Go Lucky for how not to do it!
  9. It lasted about 20 seconds. It returned before we found the torch. It was a bit like escalators breaking down and everyone standing there saying "What do we do now?"!
  10. Mr PR downloaded the technology, and spends his evening doing just that. You have to spend time ensuring that each track is one track and not the whole side of the vinyl thing, but it's worth it. It's called AUDACITY. Hope this helps.
  11. Cats are mostly nocturnal. It's what they do. And not all of them have owners.
  12. Can Highly recommend Long Day's Journey Into Night. Not a happy play by any means, but a wonderfully written and acted piece and starring David Suchet and Laurie Metcalfe. Laurie Metcalfe was the reason I booked. She is wonderful. Saturday night, we had Balcony seats and were upgraded two balconies below to Dress Circle.
  13. I looked on the website and it wasn't in Peckham, but through Camberwell. Hope I read it wrong.
  14. Nope, not Squash or Crazy Golf!
  15. A day in May. I got four tickets for the Shard!
  16. Your starter for ten: There is one 'sport' British men and women are often in the top five in the world at, but is boring to look at and will never become an Olympic sport. What is it? Oh, and Jubilympics bores me to tears too. Happy for those it makes happy though. Honest.
  17. My bra. All of them obviously. But one particular old one still fits perfect and is smooth for tshirts, and looks good still, and cost a lot!
  18. I do. Can't wait. At least you have an idea of what you're getting for ?25. Unlike some theatre at the moment!
  19. Could not they head for the site at Dulwich hospital?
  20. Thanks Pugwash. At least they have a coffee shop nearby. In Dulwich it's a dingy corridor when the big room is full. Did you complain to PALS (based in the section of the hospital next to the Golden Jubilee Wing) about it? If everyone complained they would have to do something. (One would hope!)
  21. Thanks Maxxi. Really grateful, as I hope others are too for your info!
  22. Surely this is an East Dulwich specific useful posting, rather than lounging? Oh well..
  23. One of the phlebotomists is on holiday and there is just one guy with a student and he looks exhausted. There were about 60 people there and as one person went in I asked how long she had waited and she said 2 hours but so many more people had come since. So approx 2.5 hours. And this is at a normally quiet time, ie. NOT first thing in the morning. I have registered a complaint with the Patient and Liaison Office and they said this had been going on all week. The poor guy looked tired and it is not fair on him! Anyway, so just letting you know if you have to go this week. Don't!
  24. tarafitness: a couple of sachets of seeds labelled bee friendly seeds from a well known supermarket with an orange theme. I liberally sprinkled them around the flower beds.
