  1. They tell you exactly were you are. "Welcome to Dulwich" the bottles proclaim! You're in (Urine) East Dulwich.
  2. Regardless of whether you agree with James' politics/views, I think he has to be given credit for engaging with constituents on this forum. He should be treated with respect (as should everyone).
  3. To the ice cream van blaring out music at 7:30 (most kids bedtime) on Heber Road - No parent is going to thank you for this. It is not good business sense to feck off those bank rolling your potential customers in this way.
  4. No. Starbucks is a milk bar NOT a coffee shop.
  5. The castle has a stage at the back an occasionally hosts live bands. Might be a good venue?
  6. Hi My daughter started at gumboots nursery a few months ago and seems to be settling in well. However, I thought it may be nice for her if she went on a couple of play dates outside of nursery with a couple of the children in her class, she is the 2-3 year old room, to hopefully make her feel a little happier dare I say even excited to go. So if anyone has a son or daughter who is in the same class and attends on a tues or thurs and would be interested in meeting up sometime please pm me. Cheers Vicky
  7. Just two, industrial strengh fireworks, in June. What's that all about?
  8. I heard the bangs from Heber Road. Far too loud to be fireworks I'd have thought.
  9. I saw the notice too. Definitely on Goodrich Road.
  10. Oops, you're absolutely right of course. It was Hansler, not Silvester.
  11. First property was on Bellenden Road, the second on Silvester. When my husband and I were looking at properties, we kept being told "you'll never guess who was just viewing this property before you?" Needless to say, we quickly could guess.
  12. Try Southern Railways 'My Times' feature: http://mytimes.southernrailway.com/hafas/query-p2w.exe/en
  13. Last summer, I was looking to move (have done so now) and kept getting told that Kirstie and Phil (from Location, location, location) had been looking at the same properties we were seeing. They were definitely filming around the Bellendon Road area. Has anyone got any idea when the episode is screening (or has it alredy screened)? It would be really interesting to see what they said about the properties we looked at.
  14. There is a poster in the window advertising 'Holistic' which (as far as I could tell from my position on the top deck of a 176, looks to be a bathstore, or maybe some kind of spa (there was a picture of a bath either way.
  15. Speedbumps don't slow reckless drivers. They do penalise the majority of careful drivers (I have a small car and drive slowly but speedbumps have left my car pulling to the left). They encourage people into bigger cars and 4X4 s. They also increase pollution (both noise and carbon dioxide) with all the accerlerating / breaking. There are better solutions, as indicated in previous post.

  17. Forgive my ignorance, but what is a bulge class?
  18. Bellendon Road is in Peckham. Calling it anything else seems to be by way of clarifying 'the nice bit'. I used to live in Camberwell and found it irritating how people often tried to distance themselves from their own area ('I live in Camberwell Grove area', or 'I live in Denmark Hill', or worse 'Ruskin Village' - seriously!). Be Peckham and be proud.
  19. Prices in ED aren't dropping as far as I can tell, at least not significantly. At the beginning of the year they were definitely going up (as there was an extreme lack of supply).
  20. Two missing bears! Could there be a link? Prehaps they've eloped.
  21. Hi I recently moved to ED with my 7 month old baby and went to babble and squeak at the Mag for the first time today. I would defo recommend it, everyone was very friendly and it was a very relaxed get together. Or, if you every fancy a coffee and trading stories just give me a shout. Enjoy. Vick

    The Shard

Apparently it 'tops out' towards the end of the year.
