  1. Does this plan also take one of the vital routes for emergency services to get from the east Dulwich area to the Kings college hospital area ? Whilst the main route is still there, if that is blocked by additional traffic then emergency vehicles will have less options for getting anywhere quickly Wonder if the hospital and emergency services have been consulted
  2. In response to intexas Yes that's correct, a speed table was introduced, broke a number of the old route master bus chassis so they stopped running along Barry road until it was removed A lot of wasted money, time and residential inconvenience by Southwark there Alex , I agree, with the size of vehicles along Barry road including two main bus routes, the noise and vibration will be something to consider
  3. Ignoring the CPZ issue for now, as the CPZ consultation hasn't launched, the Barry Road consultation breaks the road into three sections South, Middle and North For the southen section it reads "We haven't yet decided what features to include for this section of the Southwark Spine. We need to make the street much safer and more accessible for cyclists and pedestrians." But based on the proposals for the middle and northern sections, you can bet it will potentially remove residential parking spaces. The middle and north sections propose a loss of 28 and 17 residential parking spaces (45 in total) There is little evidence that Barry road suffers commuter parking issues so that means 45 residents cars, vans or other vehicles will be displaced on a permanent basis. Even if a CPZ is proposed then that many residential cars plus whatever is lost in the southern section won't easily be absorbed along with the expected loss of parking spaces in other roads (CPZs always lose spaces including across dropped curbs where the homeowner can currently park) This is also on top of residential spaces being lost on crystal palace road due to the cycle spine and loss of spaces due to increased corner parking double yellow lines up to you how you respond to the Barry road survey, but read it all first and understand what the real impact would be on residents of the area and surrounding roads is my recommendation
  4. Dear HeartBlock, Use your LOAF when complaining don't let your relationship with the shop go SOUR, and RISE above it all However I have found this post about bread FLAT !
  5. What's happened to this project to re-introduce the old Peckham lido?
  6. I once was surprised to see this event coming down Regents street What worried me is the number of people in the nip riding Boris bikes. Strangely I've never had the urge to use one since
  7. Manuel: "I say to man in shop, 'Is rat.' He say, 'No, no, no. Is a special kind of hamster. Is filigree Siberian hamster.' Only one in shop. He make special price, only five pound."
  8. I'll have what she's having

  11. I'll tell you this, the next drink I have's gonna be a lager. Ice cold. There's a little bar in Alex with a marble top counter and high stools. They serve the best beer in all the middle east. When we get through with this lot I'm gonna buy you one. I'll buy you all one.

  15. It's the 5th November, spent fireworks are still raining down like a meteor shower, the smell of bonfires is still lingering around like a political sex scandals and Tescos have their Christmas turkey advert running almost every hour on c5 For pity's sake it's far too early for Christmas adverts, I haven't even eaten all the chocolates from last years advent calendar yet... Bah humbug one and all

  17. I went to dishoom for breakfast and was disappointed that it wasn't a pukka Indian breakfast but basically eggs and bacon with an Indian feel Why not look at doing proper Indian breakfasts (idlis cake, sambal, masala dosa, chickpea dal and so on) I can taste it now
  18. Learn to play rugby and practice your running through on large crowds of blocking people, of course this has no relation to the origional post and is just a good suggestion for improving your ability to break through blockers on a rugby pitch 😉
  19. If you want to moan about polluting vehicles and Khans mission to clean the air then why not also ask TFL to get bus drivers to switch off their engines (or switch to electric mode for the hybrids) when buses "wait for a short time to regulate the service" Madness that they sit there for up to five minutes pumping out fumes when this happens
  20. It appears to be SORN according to the dvla so technically should be stored off road Would be a shame to see it crushed so I hope the owner collects and moves it soon

Don't believe me, > take a look for yourself > http://www.boulangeriejade.com/hot-meals yawn. > > P.s I wouldn't post this if they weren't already > closing down, not that heartless ;) Oh dear Beej get your facts right before slagging a business off. The menu you show is for the lordship lane branch which isn't closing down, therefore you have posted it for a business that is still open. The Peckham Rye (Barry Road) branch is changing hands this weekend and still sell Jade bread and products when they reopen Monday. I think they also have other exciting plans as well and all will hopefully progress smoothly for them.
  22. It's closed for the weekend with new people taking over supported by Barry's off licence and the owner of jade It will reopen Monday Sadly the current staff are spreading the closing for good message which isn't helping the new owners
  23. The film IT is out Now that is a scary clown
  24. About 18 years ago, when my cousin stayed with me for a while, he used to go to the nandos at camberwell quite regurally and come home with little plastic pouches of the piri piri sauce they put out (they now put it in bottles and not little plastic pouches so I'm told) I wonder if he will go to the ed one if it opens or have his tastes moved on a bit ? Only smarties have the answer !
