I don't know if it exists on the apple store but android have an app called "wheres my droid" that allows you to send your phone a text and it will then send you it's gps location back. not much use to you now nettie, but worth checking out to see oif there is an apple version when you get your new phone. sorry to hear that you have lost it and hopefully it (and your texts) will turn up soon.
