  1. So does this mean that when anybody who has created a covenant as the condition of selling land dies that the covenant is unenforceable? Seems a bit odd.
  2. I wonder about the timing of his tweet. The deadline for responses to the consultation was I believe yesterday so he tweets something he knows will be controversial to keep this thread alive.
  3. What Lewis et al might call the "so-called" truth
  4. Well I fell for it but did wonder about making bags for 18" square scrabble letters
  5. Lovely. Does he like his new name?
  6. There's another recent thread about pheasants http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?5,1800927 Seems like they're not so unusual
  7. The poor were too - er - poor to have memorials
  8. There is to be a candle lit vigil this evening in Trafalgar Square https://www.london.gov.uk/events/2017-03-23/trafalgar-square-vigil
  9. D Trump jnr has also sent a tweet disparaging Sadiq Khan. I guess it's only a matter of time before Trump Snr seizes the opportunity to turn the tragedy to his advantage.
  10. The reappearance of this thread has reminded me of the discussion about the whereabouts of the chimney shown in the bottom photograph in the post by Brand New Guy on 19 December 2016. Looking at an OS map published in 1916 http://maps.nls.uk/view/103313402 there is a dye works shown just south of where Peckham High Street becomes Queens Road. The map shows in plan a circular chimney. Would this be on the correct trajectory?

  12. Very glad you posted. I saw a female pheasant in the grounds of Dog Kennel Hill School, just behind the railings near the bus stop on Saturday afternoon.
  13. Great shame it wasn't publicised more. Final parade was quite an impressive sight.

It really annoys me Picking daffodils also shortens their life as once daffodils that are fully out are picked the most they'll last, even if put in water, is a couple of days whereas if left in situ it will be another couple of weeks.
  16. Fellbrigg Road is used as a cut through for many large lorries who aren't delivering close by. I believe Melbourne Grove is given as a route on some Satnavs and perhaps it's the same for Fellbrigg. It surprises me that there isn't more damage to parked cars.
  17. HopOne you have not answered my question regarding a reference that defines One Tree Hill as a geographic feature rather than as defined by Southwark Council i.e a recreation area adjoining a cemetery

One Tree Hill is a > geographic feature. I think you may be confusing > this with the Local Nature Reserve. Are you able to point us to a reference that defines One Tree Hill as a geographical area rather than a recreation area? I've looked at old maps and the boundary between One Tree Hill and the Honor Oak Golf course which became the New Cemetery has remained the same. Nowhere can I see a reference to One Tree Hill as a geographical area although in your head it may be. This is called moving the goalposts.
  19. Interesting. I developed a cough / cold last Sunday. On Wednesday, I was coughing so hard I experienced an episode of temporary memory loss and confusion which the doctors believe was caused by lack of oxygen to the brain as a result of the excessive coughing. Never experienced anything like it before. Extremely unhappy if this was caused by excessive pollution caused by bad practice on building sites.
  20. London "where everything works". Nah, that will never happen.

Women have a more committed**, ongoing relationship with their hair than where to have a bite to eat and will seek out familiar and good salons. Indeed it could become a specialist centre that attracts Afro Caribbean women from all over London. **This sentiment may sufffer from being either weird or pretentious

Depending on the rent being sought, it is unlikely the salons will go out of business as they meet a huge demand which will still be there. If the salons being relocated were catering for European hair, would there be the same sense of outrage?
  23. If Camberwell and Nunhead are specifically excluded from the burial legislation in the sense that reuse of graves is forbidden, SSW could have mounted a legal challenge, they would easily have been able to find a lawyer keen to make their name to represent them on a pro bono basis. But they haven't, nor do they mention this "illegality" on their website or used it at any stage in their sometimes tortuous discourse.
