  1. Explains the three houses built in the 60s and 70s at the bottom of Nutfield Road
  2. Agree about Imagine, it's always made me shudder but I'm appreciating his body of work more and more with the passage of time.
  3. I have now received a letter from the Council regarding this. For those that live close by, it might be worth noting that entertainment and performances are proposed throughout the whole year.
  4. To digress "People who use baby like words such as "crimbo", "sarnie" and "prezzie" the whole time are usually pretty suspect ..." Wasn't it John Lennon who first popularised the term 'Crimbo'?
  5. After having seen the other thread about this started by Siduhe, I emailed the officer concerned to clarify whether the survey posted on the Southwark website about the extension constitutes the "consultation" or whether those living nearby will be contacted for their views. Will post again if / when I get a reply. AM - I'm guessing you must live close by to have received a letter so maybe they're on their way?
  6. Yes, yes, yes and yes

The kindest way to describe their behaviour is extraordinary and naive, they certainly don't have a clue how to gain support and influence people. Thanks Keira for explaining, I'm sure your calmer and less antagonistic approach will achieve more.
  8. I understand the Diocese do not consider it within their jurisdiction as to whether trees are cut down or not. At the pre-hearing, they made it clear that if FOCC/SWW brought up the subject of tree felling at the full hearing they would be liable for Southwark Council's costs for wasting time.
  9. Far too much over analysis of text here that instead of throwing light on what happened is actually obscuring it Something happened that has raised serious concerns Leave it at that
  10. http://everyonecanmakemoneyonline.com/mycashtable-com-review-scam-or-legit A review of MyCashTable.com
  11. How much did you receive for posting the link on EDF? How much do you have to pay for access to the surveys?
  12. Can't help about cafes but if you're looking for a quiet environment would recommend one of our local libraries if you have a readers ticket. In particular, the new library on Camberwell Green is a very pleasant space. PS. I'm with BT Internet and fingers crossed no problems. Where are you?
  13. But isn't he one himself?
  14. And there was me thinking with the actual opening of M&S it would at last put an end to the rumours about an M&S opening ... here we go again.
  15. Perhaps this time they're unpaving the parking lot to put up paradise
  16. I only went to the cafe under the old management once, the latte they served was so bad I sent it back which being British is not something I usually do and was an even more excrutiating experience. Will give the cafe another try now.
  17. I hope you manage to find the owner and resolve the problem. As well as sympathising with the neighbours, I always feel so sorry for the dog in a situation like this, left alone and clearly unhappy.

Despite the popularity of the market, it seems to me rare for all the current stall-holders with allocated spaces to actually turn up on a Saturday. Though more will turn up in the run up to Christmas, often the number of stalls is very much depleted so I think attracting stall-holders for a larger market will be difficult.

  20. Raising your concerns with the new management might be more productive or did you just want to form a support group?

I'm not sure it's a case of voter apathy but that many voters couldn't bring themselves to vote for either candidate. I very nearly didn't vote in the last GE for the same reasons.
  22. "Brexit plus plus plus. Something is happening in the Anglo-Saxon world." It's happening on mainland Europe as well (not sure if that counts as the Anglo Saxon world)
