  1. Sue, I found Babur good, but not enough better to justify the increased cost, if that makes sense!
  2. Agree. I went there for blood tests and it was very quiet. Loads of space, all the Covid-prevention practices in place. Felt very safe.
  3. Which magazine tested commercially available reusable masks, they've made the article available to everyone, not just subscribers https://www.which.co.uk/reviews/face-masks/article/best-reusable-face-masks-awLeA3A6XoZD/
  4. They have posted a few things to their Instagram account https://www.instagram.com/pearspring_shop/
  5. We had the glass replaced in our coffee table by B&B Glaziers in Nunhead (years ago). They are across the road from the station. https://www.facebook.com/B-B-Glaziers-2023423057979757/
  6. We tried Millennium on Sunday night based on these recommendations. The food was very good, delivery quick and covid safe. Will definitely order from them again.
  7. We used Four Paws Doors http://www.fourpawsdoors.co.uk/ Phil installed it in 2016 and it still looks great and we've had no problems with it at all. I don't know what the charge is for just installing the cat flap as we had Phil install a new piece of clear glass into our door, as the existing one was frosted & decorated and we wanted rid of it.
  8. I have had my sharps bin collected during covid through the council. As far as I know, that is the only option. The Southwark website says that they will collect if it is "needed urgently". https://www.southwark.gov.uk/bins-and-recycling/general-household-waste/clinical-and-healthcare-waste You will need your GP to fill out the form on this page and you should then be able to get them collected: https://www.southwark.gov.uk/bins-and-recycling/general-household-waste/clinical-and-healthcare-waste?chapter=2&article Form to arrange collection: https://forms.southwark.gov.uk/ShowForm.asp?fm_fid=1879&np=1
  9. You still get pints in pubs in glass glasses. We had pizza at the Chandos in Brockley, proper plates & cutlery. Sorry haven't been out for tea/coffee but it's ridiculous.
  10. Ah, OK. Ours was a bit more than that as it was a double-glazed glass door, and we asked him to replace the glass as the original glass was not to our taste. I didn't keep any of our other quotes, so can't tell you what the comparisons were. Phil was also recommended to us, so we were happy to go with him. Good luck!
  11. We used Phil from Four Paws Doors http://www.fourpawsdoors.co.uk He's in Croydon, but covers our area. He did it 2016, and the door still looks great and doesn't leak or have any other problems.
  12. Agree with Brown & Co. Lots of choice and great advice. They did a fantastic job with ours.
  13. I had a delicious protein smoothie on Thursday, it was a great start to the day. Matt from Vits + Kicks was very friendly and helpful.
  14. I'm with Louise, they are very entertaining to watch. They perhaps became more bold because there are fewer people around? (There are still traps around the pond.)
  15. My GP surgery is sending me to the Tessa Jowell centre to have my BP taken, along with a few other checks. Weird.
  16. The Day Lewis pharmacy on Forest Hill Road is doing flu jabs.
  17. What road do you live on? Just to get an idea of where to look out for her? Hope she is home soon xx
  18. The environment agency should be contacted - they can bring oxygenating equipment to help the remaining fish https://deframedia.blog.gov.uk/2020/08/19/environment-agency-staff-working-round-the-clock-to-reduce-fish-deaths/ "Anyone who sees fish in distress should contact us on 0800 80 70 60"
  19. Maybe the contact form will work? https://www.southwark.gov.uk/business/markets-and-street-trading/southwark-markets?emailUsContact=2312
  20. First off, apologies, I cannot help with recommending an insurance company. What we did instead, was to put the amount of money that we would have paid for a policy per month into a bank account, just for that purpose. Made sure we did it every month, no excuses. Not allowed to use the money for anything else. If you can find a company that will provide lifelong cover for an 11 year old cat, it will be quite expensive, and in our experience, whenever there is a problem, it's difficult to get them to pay out anyway. Luckily we didn't have any major expenses with our rescued 13 year old cat (from Celia's), and now that she has passed, the money is still sitting there in case our 'new' cat needs it. (We continue to put money in every month.)
  21. Hi, A friend of mine found a Spanish tutor through Verbal Planet: https://www.verbalplanet.com/ You might need to try a few before you find one that you like, but she found it very worthwhile. Most tutors offer a discounted (some free) first lesson.
  22. Ah. Can you just go in person and buy it? The website has told you they are in stock. I last used the Argos at Bell Green Sainsburys for click & collect, but there were people ordering & paying in person at the same time.
  23. If you can manage online, Lynda/LinkedIn Learning has a free 1 month trial and has courses in Excel and the like: https://www.lynda.com/search?q=excel&f=level%3a1%5eBeginner Don't know of any in-person training, outside of adult education, but they won't start til September.
  24. They were definitely open as we could hear the children outside playing, but I think they may be closed now for school holidays, as it's quiet. I don't know how you get in touch with them outside of term time. Maybe try one of the Family forums?
