I was in The EDT on Tuesday... Arsenal were playing... It was 3 deep at the bar with all bars heaving.. No seats available.. It was like News Years Eve. Still busy after football finished.. Foxy.. -

I don't go to Peckham often but I have walked up & down Rye Lane a few times recently.. I really cannot say I have noticed any development which resembles a pub.. Where exactly is this place ? Is it in or off of Rye Lane. ? Foxy. -

DulwichFox replied to Syd53's topic in The Lounge
How can anyone say best Restaurant... ? Is the Best Italian Restaurant Better that the Best Indian or French Restaurant.. ? I do not particularly like Italian food.. so no matter how good it was, it would Never be My Best Restaurant.. That is likely to apply to many people.. Bit like saying 'so in so ' is the Best song ever written.. Foxy -

Everyone over 60 should get tested every 2 years automatically.. Done by post.. This was an extra test because I lost 5 lb during dry Jan. and my doctor did not agree it was due to not drinking for a month.. Seems a bit extreem caution.. Foxy

ALL Red Meat is now concidered carcinogenic what ever the quality.. Don't get me wrong.. I do still eat it myself.. Even as I write I am waiting the results of tests for the very subject we have discussed here.. Hence my concern.. Foxy..

Peckham (rye Lane)in the 50's was a major shopping centre.. A massive departmental store .. Jones and Higgings.. Marks & Spencers .. Walworths.. British Home Stores.. Littlewoods.. 2 C&A's.. 2 J Lyons Tea Houses, several big named Shoe shops.. The covered market (Arcade) Many other clothes shops.. Boots.. Gas showrooms.. Electric LEB Showrooms.. Didn't need a multi storey car park though... DulwichFox

singalto Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I love it! All this discussion about meat > consumption on a thread about a fish restaurant! No.. It was about A fish restaurant that has closed down and is being taken over by one selling primarily selling meat. There was a diversion about meat consumption.. DulwichFox.

Yepp.. Stay in and as the Euro collapses (which it will) and European coutries go bankrupt (which some allready have) the good old U.K. will still be there to help bail them out.. (we will have no choice) Refugees will head this way.. we will allow them in.. we will go bankrupt with no one left to bail us out.. We need to get out of this mess.. Walk away.. Cut our losses.. We are slaves to Brussels.. Time to fix The U.K. DulwichFox

There are 100 x 1,000's of people who are NOT being paid the minimum wage... Shop workers... Bar workers... people working in Hotels.. and lots more. David Cameron told us about the things he achieved.. But told us nothing about the things he failed to achieve.. Most ordinary people in this country do not really understand what anything he said would mean for them.. He seemed obsessed with issues like how much Polish Migrants would get in benefits... ?? We have a Special Status.. ?? WTF does that mean... ? Do we keep our own Parliament.. ? Can we make our own laws.. ? Do we control our own economy..? Do we control our own borders.. ? I have never supported being in Europe. I was against the E.E.C. The Common Market. back in 1975 (Referendum). I will vote to leave.. DulwichFox

Back in the day.. 1970's I went to many pubs to see bands and not prinarily to drink.. Pubs like the Ivy House. which was Newlands Tavern or The Stuart Arms.. I went to see bands like Ian Dury (Blockheads) McGuiness Flint, Dr. Feelgood, Steve Waller Band. They were all on the circuit and were big.. But it was 50p to get in to the back music bar.. I think those days have mostly gone.. Foxy..
