Some time back in the 80's in the Herne Tavern my beer had lumps in... I returned it to the bar where I was told by the 'Landlady' ? "It's real ale Luv.. It's supposed to have lumps in it. It's the yeast.' I told her.. "No it's not yeast.. You havn't cleaned your pipes. " That was the last time I ever went in The Herne. never been back.. DulwichFox..

Generally, stews have less liquid than soups, are much thicker and require longer cooking over low heat. While soups are almost always served in a bowl, stews may be thick enough to be served on a plate with the gravy as a sauce over the solid ingredients. Hope that helps.. Foxy

Jennys Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I am surprised given another long-running thread > that this area is not already known as the Southwark Meadows or some such emotive title. Icy wind of night, be gone. This is not your domain. In the sky a bird was heard to cry. Misty morning whisperings and gentle stirring sounds Belied a deathly silence that lay all around. Hear the lark and harken to the barking of the dog fox gone to ground. See the splashing of the kingfisher flashing to the water. And a river of green is sliding unseen beneath the trees, Laughing as it passes through the endless summer making for the sea. In the lazy water meadow I lay me down. All around me, Golden sunflakes settle on the ground, Sorry That was Granchester Meadows.. Pink Floyd. DulwichFox

Problem is that with rent on E.D. premises, selling soup and salad is not going to cover that rent.. DulwichFox

The Watson's General Telegraph. opens tomorrow. (Formerly The Rose) A possible alternative to the Herne due to it's closer proximity to Omrith. Foxy -
It's reassuring to see young kids being trained in cycle proficiency at the junction of Whateley / Ulverscroft rd. Needs to be more of it. Some adults might benefit from a bit of cycle proficiency training. Or an injection of common sense.. DulwichFox

My Type - 2 diabetes probably developed some 14 years back and I wasn't aware of it.. I was doing shift work which involved 12-13 hour shifts... including week-ends and nights sitting in front of 3 computer screens with no chance of a break as I was there alone. 14 years in all . not much exercise. All I ate on nights was ready meals and the occasional curry delivery. Salt, Sugar, Fat.. Oh yes.. the donuts left over from the day shift when it was some ones birthday.. Foxy.
