Haven't the council anything > better to do than snoop on innocent fly-tippers > fine them? There are fly tippers who clear out some ones house, charge them and then dump the lot illegally.. .. But taking away a service for which we indirectly pay for anyway in our Council Tax. is a different matter.. .. Next charge extra on top of our Council Tax. to empty our bins.. when we are encouraged to recycle.. ? .. Same as parking .. Find somewhere where parking is safe.. paint a couple of yellow lines and wait for the money to pour in.. DulwichFox

Well you have to catch them first.. Known fly tipping spots are having cameras fitted.. and fines sent to the owners of vehicles caught on camera. Foxy.

rahrahrah Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > There are a lot of necessary restrictions. There > should be more short stay (30min) parking. Strange that Nunhead Lane which has Buses and large lorries passing through and has REAL traffic issue has parking permitted on both sides of the road.. in its busiest stretch. ..whereas other places where traffic is not a serious issue has restrictions.. We are a nation of Fines... Restrict Parking and Fine people when they need to pull over and park.. Remove most of the Litter Bins and Fine people when they drop litter.. Do away with FREE waste collections and FINE people when they Fly-tip.. Close all the Public Toilets and FINE people and issue ASBO's when they get taken short and take a pee.. This is how the Council MAKES money instead of SPENDING it.. Total Disgrace.. and we put up with it.. DulwichFox

Mural near The Plough vandalised
DulwichFox replied to Nigello's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I'm not a great fan of murals and I don't much like the Fighters mural near the EDT... ... but I would NEVER deface someone elses work what ever I thought of it.. I do believe that any artwork lends itself to this type of vandalism in the same way that any fly-tipped articles lends to more stuff added.. That's not how my mind works but it's the way some folks minds work.. They see a nice car.. so they scratch it.. DulwichFox -
My main reason is financial.. as since being retired 2008 my outgoings greatly exceed my income and I am living off my savings which with very low interest rates are rapidly becoming depleted.. I am concerned about my health too and have several pub days off during the week and have a couple of bottles at home. I go out in the evening for social reasons as I would never see any one if I didn't. I have actually given alcohol completely. Not drinking at home.. I'm one of those people where 1 month becomes 2 -- becomes 3 -- 6 -- 1 year I don't actually miss the drink (Not crawling up the walls (yet)) Lol. Finding getting off to sleep the hardest.. I just really hope I will start to feel the benefits of abstaining ( More energy, alert, etc) that everyone goes on about when they give up.. Let's see. I might get even more grumpy :) Foxy

Spamming is a complex problem... Some Spam to cause annoyance.. some Spam to damage your computer.. and steal your I.D. Spam can contain dangerous JavaScript Mouse Events which may download Malware if you just happen to place your mouse over certain parts of any text. Googling the text often comes up with the same text in other forums.. suggesting that they are being generated by computer 'Spiders' Just ignore. Don't read them and don't reply to them.. DulwichFox

I already have a cut down scheme which is documented on an Excel spread sheet.. and have done this for the last 4-5 years. I base it on drinking 3 pints of beer a day. @ ?4.00 a pint.. ?12.00 a day.. Any savings go into a tin and into an envelope at the end of the month.. 2015 I saved ?1,035.00 which is handy when you get to Christmas and the New Year. 2013 I saved ?2015.40 Drinking 3 pints a night @ ?4.00 = ?12.00 or ?4,380.00 per year.. So Jan I hope to save ?372.00 . Its a good way to save money because it goes into the tin / envelope as if you spent it but its still there if you need it. I would recommend it too for anyone wishing to give up smoking. Cost of 20 cigarettes to soar to ?15 A PACKET under new Government proposals A PACKET of cigarettes will cost smokers ?15 if proposals in an NHS-backed report are implemented. At ?15.00 for 20 that's ?5,475.00 per year.. Then you get to take a few good holidays.. Foxy

Great walks in countryside near East Dulwich
DulwichFox replied to amac's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
That's the trouble with nice places.. Everyone wants to go there... I drove there.. Very narrow lanes.. It was chocker block ... could not move.. go any where , park , turn round. Used to go to another pub in Plaxtol The Golding Hop, Plaxtol. A cider and real ale pub... They used to have a special cider that they would only serve in 1/3 of a pint. http://img01.beerintheevening.com/72/72349d9313872b8e3c406d13ef44b5b8.jpg Lovely place.. Difficult to find and the road is prone to sudden flooding.. Foxy -
I'm not really a big drinker. Only go out for a couple of beers.. But due to dietary restrictions I can't go to the pub and have Orange juice and lemonade.. and I'm not paying ?2.50 for mineral water... I go out in the evening else I don't see a soul.. all day. Anyone who has ever tried Alcohol Free Beer will probably know it makes you pee more... Perhaps a 30 day induced coma might see me through.. lol. Foxy..

Well I'm sitting here in view of much alcohol:- White / Black Sambuca - Pernod - Ouzo - Turkish Raki - Vodka - Grand Marnier - Drambuie - Oloroso sherry - Sake - I have a fridge full of lagers and some Turkish beer... ... and I'm drinking Becks Alcohol Free 'S**te' And the TV is crap... Cannot see this lasting long... Foxy :(

It's a bit boring being in all day apart from shopping and hour or so's walk and then having to stay in in the evening. Home alone.. For a month.. I'm used to being out every night. I'll probably go insane.. but my liver would of recovered. Foxy..
