  1. There seems to be so much talk of Suspicious activity .. Bloke at the bus stop wearing a big coat and a hat.. looked really dodgy. It was a while back maybe 18 months ago. After a 4-5 mile walk I went in to the Caf? on Peckham Rye for a cup of tea and a almond croissant. Restore sugar levels. Being diabetic I was testing my levels after exercise. Well there were loads of kids in there and we all know how small kids often stand and stare at people.. All of a sudden one of the 'Mums' ? shouted.. 'Come over here darling , come away from the man, what Have I told you. ' I was mortified. I have on occasion spoke about caf?s and mums, buggies & babies.. and not having proper blokes cafes... I feel ostracized looking through the window of these mummy cafes. I terrified to walk through the door. This has led to people suggesting myself as being anti new businesses. I'm not. There just aren't many places in E.D where a single bloke can go for a cup of tea without being made to feel uncomfortable. DulwichFox
  2. Hi Sue.. I was going to post that in the 'Stop the War' thread.. Cameron will just turn it on its head if we get attacked and say ' This is the proof that what we did was right ' That's what politicians do. This is a nice cover by Ed Sheeran. Foxy
  3. I don't mind a fire.. and would not report a fire unless it was likely to get out of control.. Having said that if it's illegal then it's illegal and doesn't matter how frequently people have a burn up. DulwichFox
  4. Why would America be so concerned about terrorism when they have had 1,051 mass shootings in 1,066 days.. amongst their own people. That is the grim facts... DulwichFox
  5. I doubt if Cameron could point to Syria on an unmarked map, let alone the towns and areas he is bombing.. DulwichFox

I lived in Peckham for 28 years very close to Peckham High St. The question was if something called a lane could be a high street. DulwichFox

Rye Lane was once a High street.. It hade many major High St. Stores. Jones & Higgins, 2 C&A's , M&S, BHS, Littlewoods, Walworths, Stylos, Stead & Simsons, Timpsons, Dolces, Boots, 2 Lyons Tea Houses. That's a High St. DulwichFox.
  8. Cameron will Bomb who the U.S. tells him to bomb.. He has very little say in the matter.. DulwichFox

As you were seemigly talking about the 21 Century.. and tend to be rather pedantic on occasion In 21st-century English, buses is the preferred plural of the noun bus. Busses appears occasionally, and dictionaries list it as a secondary spelling, but it?s been out of favor for over a century. This is true in all main varieties of English. Best to get ALL our facts right.. Also.. Lordship Lane is Not a high street.. DulwichFox
  10. A Government that wants to protect UK Citizens lives.. Whilst at the same time people are dying in Ambulances because money needed by he NHS to keep A&E units open is being used to build bombs and fund Trident. Ironic ?? So people die anyway.. DulwichFox
  11. I got this as well.. Not a Virus but Google privacy policy slammed by EU data protection chiefs http://www.theguardian.com/technology/2012/oct/16/google-privacy-policies-eu-data-protection Have a read. I must say I do not fully understand it.. DulwichFox

Toast and dripping!! That's the one.. My mum gave me that to fatten me up.. Didn't work.. :) Foxy
  13. It probably wont be long before BBQ's are banned.. Think of the money Southwark Council could make in Fines with people flaunting the law. DulwichFox
  14. Yes.. I agree we must be high on the list as an ISIL(S) target.. but to give them a legitimate excuse (in their minds) to launch an attack is wreckless and will not IMHO make us any safer by attacking them. Comments like 'Cutting off the head of the Snake' are ridiculous. This Snake has more than one head. Like Cameron himself, there are many in the Conservative Party that are ready to take his place. 15. There is now much steel work in progress at the rear of the old Iceland building covering most of the old car park. The new store is going to be almost twice the size of the old store. The concern will now be to some that shoppers will try parking in Chesterfield Grove.. More congestion. DulwichFox
  16. And as I understand it , it is permissible to use some kindling and fire lighters to get the smokeless fuel going. DulwichFox

  18. Comments like 'We are all in this together' and ' You are either with us or against us' would seem to imply that anyone against bombing Syria is themselves a 'terrorist sympathiser' This is simply not the case.. DulwichFox

Erasing data does NOT delete it.. same as on your PC. It strips the Header off the files in a file table. The info is all still there until overwritten. It will also still be present in iCloud. I worked in telecoms and I.T. as a Systems Admin. Security Officer. If anyone wants to Donate.. Please do so.. I will make no further comment on the subject. DulwichFox

I'm not that concerned and do not feel the need to Google it.. Its not very helpful to say that one place is opposite another place.. 'Need and optician ? there's a good one opposite the bakers' :) Foxy.
  21. LondonMix You seem to have very little understanding of the risks of passing on your smartphone in this way. I'm not disparaging the work of a charity but people wishing to 'Donate' their devices need to be aware of the steps they need to take before doing so.. Smartphones and tablets that you no longer need should be disposed of with great care. The data on your device can easily be accessed whether you sell, scrap, give away or donate it, and even ?deleted? data can be retrieved with relative ease by criminals. Get started... ? Thoroughly remove all data from your device before disposing of it. See also... Safe Computer Disposal How to dispose of computer hardware safely. Privacy Maintain privacy and avoid identity theft or fraud. In addition, disposing of smartphones and tablets responsibly will ensure the minimum environmental impact and ensure that you are not breaking the law. The Risks ? The personal information stored in files on your device ? including contacts, photos, videos and email attachments ? can be accessed and used for criminal activity. ? Any passwords stored on your device could give access to secure websites holding your personal and financial information. ? Any browsing history can be accessed. ? emails stored on your device can be accessed. ? Disposing of your device without having retrieved the information you may need in the future may cause inconvenience or disruption. Safe Disposal ? Ensure all data is copied from your device by syncing it with your computer - or backing it up to the cloud - then restoring it to factory settings. ? With Android phones, enable encryption on your device before applying the factory reset. Apple iPhones already feature hardware encryption by default - a feature that cannot be user-disabled. To be completely sure that your data is deleted, however, download and use a reputable data deletion tool. ? If the device is at the end of its life and you do not intend to sell it or give it away, take it to a proper disposal facility, which will ensure that is dismantled and the components recycled correctly and responsibly. https://www.getsafeonline.org/smartphones-tablets/safe-disposal/ A generous gesture could place you in danger of ID Fraud. 23. Back in the 20's 30's 40's 50's and indeed decades before we burnt coal in our homes... Yes we had smog due to cold air and smoke (in the winter) but was there a real threat of global warning. NO. I don't think there was.. Why. We had Vast forests in the Amazon and other regions.. which absorbed CO2 and produced Oxygen. That's how it works. (worked) Deforestation IMHO has had a much bigger negative effect on the environment and climate than all the emissions from all the vehicles and factories across the planet. We have destroyed and continue to destroy the mechanism that replaces the oxygen that balances the eco system. DulwichFox.
