It would of been circa. 1794. so it was a long time ago.. There are far too many food outlets in East Dulwich / Lordship Lane. and a few more clothes shops would be appreciated to give The White Stuff a run for its money. (similar Stuff to River Island but twice the price.) DulwichFox
  2. 100 years old.. ? They had a good life.. Maybe they were diseased / decayed or become unstable. Foxy

Does seem strange having a caf? next door to a chippy. Presumably different operating times.. If its a real caf?.. early mornings and lunch time. if it's going to be another mummy/baby club then late morning afternoon.. Chippy mostly busy around 5.00-7.00pm DulwichFox
  4. Week 12 sorted.. Feeling confident.. Famous last words. Lol Foxy.
  5. There are a lot of companies on line doing window film.. Some plain opaque and some very pretty coloured / patterned stuff best suited for bathrooms and kitchens. Many people use the film to cover the bottom panel of a window leaving the top panel clear. Foxy
  6. I understood Ruffers as needing window film. The stuff that covers the window to make it opaque (frosted effect) so you cannot see in. ? DulwichFox
  7. They were everywhere. I saw them from The Bishop Lordship Lane turning left into East Dulwich Grove. About 20+ riders. 09.30 - 10.00 ish ?? Foxy.
  8. I think the police will be able to identify some of those involved by number plates.. As well as fines and bans I would (but it's not up to me) have their bikes put through the crusher. Would seem fair to me. DulwichFox
  9. Yep. You think to yourself Sh*t I missed that by 1 late goal. If only ..... .. But it's the same for everyone.. Foxy.
  10. I was Lucky.. I correctly guessed the last two games scores.. earning a further 6 points. Foxy.
  11. I don't think Bonfires are permitted any more (locally) Didn't they charge last year at Brockwell Park. ? Are they charging this year.? Haven't seen anywhere about tickets. Dulwich
  12. There used to Public Toilets in Melon Road. Also between the station and the covered market (Holly Grove?) and again in Heaton Rd. All long gone I believe. ?? People do get caught short.. Southwark have done nothing. DulwichFox
  13. Take it to Devon Street Depot. Tell the staff there that the tins are not empty and they will take them and dispose of them . Don't forget to take proof of you living in Southwark. DulwichFox
  14. What is the point of enhancing the station frontage when the whole of Rye Lane especially the South end is in such a depressed state. ? DulwichFox
  15. It may also be historic that dogs were once Licenced and had a registered owner.. but I cannot find anything to back that up.. Foxy..
  16. Supposedly A dog (as well as a goat, horse, cattle, ass, mule, sheep and pig) does come within the remit of the Road Traffic Act and is a reportable accident so you are required by law to report it to the police. Foxy.
  17. I'm on 3 points.. Don't look so bad on reflection. Foxy..
  18. Cannot see why the Co-op would be that concerned abort people nicking some of their produce. 1/2 of it is at its use by date or over its best by date. Saves them the trouble of having to dispose of it. Perhaps they (and other supermarkets) should have a 'Please Help Yourself' section. Foxy.
  19. Hi Admin. Ruffers.. Yes . Im aware of limits on three letter words though it will search if you add an asterix '*' It does seem to be I.E only. I'm using I.E. 11 which is my default browser. Other browsers cause problems in other areas.. DulwichFox
  20. I'll be long gone by the time that ever comes to Fruition.. :) But I do remember the steam trains going through Peckham Rye Station.. Foxy
  21. Thank you for your post IngridB I'm sorry, but still fail to see any connection.. ? Antony Van Dyck was indeed a fine talented artist.. The piece at the top of Barry Rd. is colourful and nicer than the Bee. I prefer to observe it as an abstract and not look at it with any pretentious views on what is supposed to represent. Trying to read into it things that aren't there. Just enjoy it.. Foxy

Yes but Councils are now putting up cameras and making a lot of money from fines.. We have become a nation of Taxation and Fines.. Foxy

That's funny.. I've got Palace.. Swansea & Norwich all to lose.. :) Sorry AqM. :( Foxy.
  24. Mustard Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I hoarded a lot of the free waste bags. They have > come completely apart, split into segments, and > can't be used now. That's because they are bio-degradable.. It would be about ten years ago whilst at work, I left our Christmas Lights in a Tesco plastic bag. The following year the bag disintegrated into tiny fragments when I picked it up. Most Supermarket bags have been bio-degradable for many years.. It's the Store bags for larger items and clothes that are not bio-degradable. There is no need for the bag tax.. on supermarket bags.. DulwichFox. P.S. Since the 'Bag Levy' The Co-op no longer sell the Strong Green Bag for Life bags which were 10p and could be used over and over again..
  25. Considering The Green bag / Brown Box was a scheme the Council introduced to make recycling easier and presumably overall cost effective. ... and recycling is factored in in our Council Tax. So we pay twice.. DulwichFox.
