  2. I never watch Emmerdale (Farm) I thought Emmerdale Farm was about a farm and Emmerdale is now more about the village.. Do they still actually have animals ? Foxy
  3. Have not actually read it.. I saw the OP's post and saw the article.. I just passed it on.. Foxy.
  4. Girls Aloud was an English-Irish[1] pop girl group, which was created through the ITV talent show Popstars: The Rivals in 2002 Foxy
  5. Back in the 60's there were staff on every platform. Peckham Rye. They used to change the destination boards manually. They also kept the fires going with coal in the winter. There were toilets on all platforms too. Some also planted flowers in tubs.. (No health and safety back then) Just Pride in their jobs. No one gives a S**t now. Foxy..
  6. FRANCE has been urged to completely clear Calais of migrants hoping to reach Britain after it emerged the town's biggest camp has DOUBLED in size. Please read.. http://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/613274/Calais-migrant-crisis-France-Hollande-Jungle-camp-Britain-Channel-Tunnel DulwichFox

  8. Larry Grayson larged it up on the gay scene to get cheap laughs.. He was once confronted by a mob of gay men and women from Lewisham (C.H.E.)Campaign for Homosexual Equality when he appeared at Lewisham Odeon back in the 70/80's They detested his blas? attitude to the serious problems gay people not so renowned as himself were facing. 9. There were some very unpredictable results.. Palace losing. Man city losing, Got 3 points for the first game the 2 more for the rest.. We all struggled.. Foxy
  10. I am not a (qualified) Electrician.. but was a Power engineer when I worked for B.T. At the consumer unit, the cooker will require its own fuse way. A 30amp fuseway can support an appliance of up to 7.2kw providing that the control unit does not also have a socket outlet. For higher powered appliances a 45amp fuse or greater is required. The control unit is then connected to the consumer unit by a radial circuit. Normally there will be a box with red switch.. (depends on how old your installation is). There will be a cable (No Plug) from the box to the back of the cooker. If the cable is disconnected from the back of the cooker the wires will be live if the switch is on and the fuse in the consumer unit is still in place. If you remove the fuse and someone replaces it, the same problem will exist. The cable needs to be disconnect at the box end. (after removing the fuse in the consumer unit) You need to be able to test that the correct fuse has been removed and the circuit isolated.. As you are moving it is your responsibility that you leave the installation SAFE.. A genuine Electrician should not charge you much to do this job. DulwichFox
  11. In the past people like Les Dawson , Michael Crawford , John Cleese and many others were Naturally funny.. Chris Evans and the likes of Keith Lemmon are Trying (Desperately) to be funny.. It just comes across as sarcasm. No Natural talent. Dulwichfox
  12. .. and with most of the walkways to the platforms exposed to the elements. (the sloppy bits) what will it be like with snow and ice.. in the midst of Winter.. At least the old Victorian stairways were covered.. DulwichFox..
  13. I've haven't been to Bognor for 8-10 years.. Used to take my mum mainly for the ride as she liked to get out of the house. Would drive to Bognor... Park up in the disabled bay (legally) normal parking was restricted. Share a Bag of Chips (Which were excellent) Grab a cup of tea.. Then drive home again.. My mum thought it was too quiet there.. Long drive for a bag of chips and a cup of tea. Foxy..
  14. One of the big problems with buying a new front door is size.. You will almost certainly need to get it cut down to fit.. B&Q do not provide a cut down service and as far as I know neither doe Wickes.. Whittens in Peckham Hill Street has a good selection of doors and does provide a cutting down service. (note) It is up to you to take accurate measurements of the door doorframe allowing for space for door to fit. You will not get a refund if you make a mistake.. You then need to decide if your door is to be glazed.. and buy safety glass to your measurements.. Then you need to buy Door furniture.. Letterbox, Locks, Hinges and fittings.. Then you need Primer 2-3 coats / Paint 2 coats Which you can do yourself or get a painter to do it for you.. You need to insure that the door frame is strong enough to take the weight of your new door. Safety glass is very heavy. Then you need a good carpenter to fit your door.. It is an expensive procedure.. Good luck :) DulwichFox

Yes, There were two C&A's One which is now McDonalds and the other opposite the station entrance between the two railway bridges.. DulwichFox

  17. Sue is indeed a friend and a neighbour.. We have both had a pop at each other from time to time.. but NEVER with any malice unlike some others on The EDF. Cannot expect people to agree with each other all of the time. Even partners have differences of opinion. Foxy..
  18. GOD.. They are all on tonight.. Chris Evans.. Keith Lemon .. Now I know why I always (usually) go out at night.. Night time T.V. is worst that Daytime T.V. Foxy.
  19. Odd that it may seem Kebabs are actually a lot healthier than most other take away food alternatives. Grass-fed lamb can also contain valuable amounts of CLA (conjugated linoleic acid), a health supportive fatty acid. Grass-fed lamb is an excellent source of vitamin B12 and a very good source of protein, selenium, and niacin. It is also a good source of zinc and phosphorus. Kebabs usually come with a reasonable amount of healthy salad which can be eaten or discarded. Unlike the lettuce leaf and slice of tomato that accomplies most burgers.. Burgers are served in a high G.I. white bun whilst Kebabs come with a Low G.I pita bread. Chilli sauce is also a healthy condiment.. Kebabs get a bad press whilst Burgers do not.. Chinese food is one of the worst most unhealthy. High sugar , salt, colourings, fat, MSG. Never had a bad tummy upset from a Kebab.. DulwichFox
  20. Can we name names. ? Alan Carr - Chatty man.. Nauseating .. Not funny.. Even he has admitted to hating his own voice.. Cringe.. Foxy..
  21. Burgers and Kebabs are very different.. People eat Burgers any time of the day.. and most kebabs are eaten late at night. (generally speaking) Pubs do burgers in the evening... but not kebabs.. Kebabs require specialist equipment. I don't eat many kebabs these days.. Years ago it was a Fish'n'Chip supper after the Pictures.. often walking along the street.. Arrh .. the smell of HOT chips and Vinegar.. Foxy..
  22. Otta Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Indeed, good for them. > > Although for the life of me (and I realise this > puts me in a minority) I just don't "get" the > whole burger thing. Me too. But it's easy .. They are cheap to make. requires very little equipment and highly profitable.. They are probably here to stay.. well definitely here to stay.. probably a burger tax may be imposed as it seems to be the government way forward with resolving any obesity problem. Cos I'm the Tax Man.. Foxy
  23. Good post Lou.. I've been to both the old and new Wembley.. The new Wembley is certainly far more fit for purpose and I don't think anyone who has been to Wembley would deny that. Good point about the hidden railway arches. I hadn't considered that. much could be done refurbishing those. The old C&A's building could be restored as a focal point coming from the station providing a suitable business could be established there. Problem is Rye Lane then becomes a Diamond in a Brass ring if the rest of the lane is left has it is. It really is tatty, sad and run down. Foxy.
  24. Good luck to everyone today... :) Foxy..
  25. Many 'Brits' choose to live in Spain often in purpose built 'villages' that are a little bit of England in the sun. Whilst some attempt to learn some Spanish it rarely seems to extend past Por favour, Gracias, dos cervezas. This may be acceptable in groups of people of a certain age who may well be all retired on permanent holiday. When migrants settle in the UK they will often also live in 'designated' areas often due to language barriers. They become isolated. To truly integrate with the community learning the native language is a necessity. If you want to work in the UK. Schools, Hospitals, shops ... being able to speak English is essential. DulwichFox
