  1. You learn something everyday :--- The Statue in Piccadilli Circus is NOT Eros.. Although the statue is generally known as Eros, it was created as an image of his twin brother, Anteros. who, as "The God of Selfless Love" was deemed to represent the philanthropic 7th Earl of Shaftesbury suitably. 2. I like the range of Tiger Spring Teas from the guy on North Cross. English Breakfast, Ceylon Orange Pekoe, Gunpowder (Green Tea) no name just a few.. All loose leaf teas.. He's not there very often.. A very pleasant fellow.. Would recommend you try when he's there.. Foxy

I know some that did and have moved away.. I have no objection to people living in the area voicing their opinions on change. I do object those living elsewhere doing so. Would you like someone else telling you what colour to paint your living room. ? How many people who have the privilege of having a stall on N.C. Road live here.. As for being miserabalist ? Is that a made up word? ???? are often are you out and about socializing in East Dulwich ? Actually Talking to people. Finding out what they like / dislike about the area. I'm certainly not miserabalist. I talk to a lot of people and involve myself in discussion and not afraid to express my opinions. But serious debate is healthy. It's important to get out there and talk. Not sit in the confines of a Forum where one is 'faceless'. So stop having a pop at Louisa and myself. Get off the Forum for a couple of hours.. get out and start actually living yourself. You might like it. :) Foxy
  9. East Dulwich Police Station was designed to be Bomb Proof. Hence the buttress narrow windows. Foxy

Hardly the shrinking violet then Foxy. No.. I'm NOT a shrinking violet.. I've been described as a 'Social Butterfly'. Not everyone likes magic tricks but people frequently ask if I have any tricks to show them.. I've been on stage and used to be a dancer.. I enjoy the 'Limelight' but I think that goes for most people. > > > > I'm cooking everyday. Rather than having a beer and/or curry at home. Not even remotely the same thing... I'm retired and at home all day.. for hours on end. I go out to the pub in the evening to see other people not to be seen... and not to look important I'm cooking everyday. Making breakfast, Lunch, Evening meals. So I go out to eat in the evening for a treat and a break from cooking. And although I might check my e-mail on my ipod I don't sit in the restaurant / pub Posing with my Laptop. Taking up space for hours on end. I often get a T/A Curry which lasts for two meals.. So I do have curries at home.. ...and I have a large stock of beer, Spirits & Liqueurs .. Although I do not like much drinking alone / at home. So I'm not taking the piss.. Foxy
  16. You only have to drive through Lewisham where once there was a pub and a few old shops... ... now stands many 10 storey + buildings.. Be careful what you wish for.. DulwichFox

Otherwise they would have a coffee and croissant at home.. Like the old days before mobile phones and laptops when these people would of carried a Filo-fax with them where ever they went. Foxy

  23. The 20 MPH has absolutely nothing to do with safety.. It is going to be the biggest revenue generator ever for Southwark. It's a disgrace. Totally unnecessary and an other hit on an easy target (the motorist) DulwichFox

  25. Its not representative at all. The views of a dozen or so regular posters here has no bearing to the views of the 1,000's of people who reside in East Dulwich. Talk to people in the local pubs and hear their view on the forum and their views about our area and you will find them mostly conflicting with regards to local restaurants, pubs, food, pricing. People who voice conflicting views here are shot down. DulwichFox
