  1. Well the roof is now off.. and the back of the store demolished... Looks like there will be further floor/floors added.. This isn't going to be a quick job even in Conways aren't involved.. 12 months + ?? DulwichFox
  2. Louisa Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Looks like the yanks are gonna wipe the floor with > the jocks. > > Louisa. It's a good job too. If the Yanks were to lose they would probably feel the need to bomb some little village on the other side of the Planet. God Bless America. Land of the free. Man. Foxy :)
  3. Had a bad week so far.. Just 1 point.. :( 2 games to go.. Foxy.
  4. Some years back.. 15 years or so.. 2 Girls regularly came into the Pubs up and down Lordship Lane. Usually around 9pm - 10pm. They had Scope Collecting Boxes. . The Palmerston was on their circuit.. They were very friendly and always got a good response. They had a driver that took them around the pubs.. The Palmy had its own Scope Charity box on the bar and one lunch time I was in and 2 elderly ladies came to take the box away and place a new one on the bar. Well it wasn't very full and I said to the ladies. Its probably empty 'cos the girls come round most nights. Then the ladies informed me that Scope don't send people out to collect.. They were scammers and they were rumbled.. and after being confronted soon stopped. DulwichFox

"Louisa and Foxy Land" ?? You are obsessed .. You ridiculous post was only justifiable when I noticed the time of your post 11.17pm May I suggest that what ever you were drinking, next time add a little more water.. DF

People had sod all. Pubs sold beer and people were happy as they were. Foxy

My parents were looking to move out due to problems with noise. I stayed with them to assist in their move. They were rehoused to Downham which came under Bromley. I moved with them 1979ish Then I moved to East Dulwich.. 1980... and been here ever since.. Seabag.. I was born in Kings college hospital and lived in East Surrey Grove. almost Walworth. No plans to return. Foxy.
  8. Well I've gone for my FREE Upgrade to BT infinity which actually costs ?35.00 + ?6.95 P&P and I did have to sign a new contract despite being reassured by e-mail and post I would not need to.. and I'm told I cannot expect to get >35Mbt/s Should take 10 days to complete. Just hope I see a difference. Foxy..
  9. rahrahrah Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Wherever you purchase your croissants, they should > definitely to be had with apricot jam. Rah.. You have just rekindled memories of cheap package Greek Island Holidays.. Breakfast was Coffee.. stale stick bread... a small individual butter pack and a individual pack of Apricot jam.. That was it. :( Foxy.
  10. Thanks bejam.. ..But I will still be fed by Copper into the house. I do not know where the Fibre D.P. (Distribution Point) is for Ulverscroft rd. BT. do not actually Guarantee any speed. They can only offer a guide to possible speed for the area. :( Foxy.
  11. I agree with moondancer.. Many items not clearly price marked. Fish marked as per kilo and not actual clearly priced by weight. Many food items passed Eat by date. Cheese. Should not be on sale Many food items reached Eat before date. reduced. Items with damaged packaging. Dented tins which should NOT be on sale. Freezers constantly breaking down. Hard 'baked in store' style bread. Stale. Wrongly marked Rye Bloomer turned out as tomato bread. Yuk. Long queues with no staff on tills. Store prone to flooding due to flat roof at rear of store.. Store has a depressed ambience. Staff are ok but always look p'd off. I remember the cheerful staff at Iceland as a comparison. DulwichFox

  13. Hi Loz.. Thanks for your help. Yes I did remove the face plate.. and used the 'TEST' socket.. no diff. Will wait and see how Bejam gets on tmrw with Infinity installed. Foxy.
  14. I do like the occasional Almond Croissant but they are not really permitted on my low GI Carb diet.. Plain butter croissants a bit dull. Most of them just turn to dust when you try to eat them.. Empty carbs. No nutritional value. Poor breakfast choice.. Decent bread toasted with peanut butter (no added sugar)will set you up for the morning. Foxy
  15. I've had a little delve.. Under the stairs there are 2 sockets.. one was for a phone line and one was a fax line which the previous owners used for their businesses. Both extension type boxes. I have located the 'Main' box with test socket behind my bedside cabinet the nearest box to point of entry. Testing from this point makes no difference. I don't think Parallel extn. wiring is causing my problem. Or even external wiring from local exchange. I'm convinced it is BT. They can restrict internet speeds to encourage people to switch to Infinity. I have spoken to the Infinity people but they are not technical. They are sales personnel. I have other devices such as a Personal Cloud which needs ports opening on the router.. I'm not sure that the Basic Home Hub allows port forwarding and BT Technical Dept. didn't have a clue what I was talking about. A decent VDSL Router costs around ?250.00 so I'm reluctant to switch to Infinity.. Foxy
  16. Loz.. I was a BT engineer for 26 years and worked in telecoms for 40 years... So confident with wiring.. There wasn't broadband back then.. My home installation is fed from a pole and straight into a connection box.(no socket) then hard wired through the house and ends up under the stairs. No idea of its routing.. The installation is 20+ years old and does not have the terminating box with a test socket. Using an Ethernet cable makes no difference to speed. It has never been any faster... I'm about as far from the Exchange as you can get. I have changed channels on my router with no difference I am connecting PPPoE and using (Mixed 11b + 11g)Wireless mode. I'm surprised people get 20mbt/S on copper wiring.. I'm just not convinced Infinity will make any difference. Foxy
  17. It is closed and likely to be for some time... There have been minor floods at the rear of the store due to a leaky flat roof but the store is flooded throughout with 1/2" of water right up to the front doors.. DulwichFox
  18. My BT Broadband is very slow.. I am supplied by O.H. Copper (Over Head pole) I get 2.9Mbt max. download and 0.9Mbt upload. I get constant letters / email requests from BT to upgrade to BT Infinity. I believe my slow BT Broadband speed is deliberate to get me to 'upgrade' Has anyone (Who is supplied by O.H. Copper) upgraded to Infinity and have you noticed any improvement to broadband speed. I also get constant router drop outs which may be the router (Belkin G) itself. Changing to Infinity with a new router may stop this annoying problem. Any advice would be very welcome. DulwichFox
  19. I got lucky this week.. Predictions for Week 7 done.. fingers crossed. Good Luck everybody.. Foxy

  23. Funny that Southwark Council will no longer foot the bill for green bags when ... .. they have spent Millions of pounds on Green, Blue & Brown bins.. 10's of 1,000s of them... DulwichFox
  24. Hi Shellbell.. You don't need to join.. its open to all.. Next Curry Club. is Thursday 1st October. We will be meeting at Franklins at 19.00ish for pre meal drink then off to the Curry Cabin to eat at 20.00ish Just indicate if you are coming and how many of you and Michael P. will know how many to book for.. Foxy..
  25. flocker spotter Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- If you don't expect the council to provide you with a free bag for your kitchen/pedal/swing bin, why expect other bin liners to be gratis? Because it is Their scheme.. Your internal pedal bin has nothing to do with Southwark Council. The green bags are for food waste and by residents separating their waste we are already saving the council money and preventing all waste having to be sent to land fill. We all pay for these bags through our council tax. Dulwich DIY are now charging ?3.89 for 25 green food bags.. Shops will be taking advantage of this new scheme. DulwichFox
