Yes, that's right (bit more than 35 years ago 1980 though.) but this thread is about a Lidl in E.D. There is no space for one with a car park.

Had a peer in this lunchtime. Could not see much but they seem to of replastered some of the walls so looks like a major refurb. and not just a lick of paint. DulwichFox

If you find one in your bath, please do not flush it down the plug hole.. Simply drape some loo roll from inside the bath over the rim and they will climb out and escape. Foxy.

Yes, they may well buy weekend shopping Bread, Milk, Meat . ?? But a weekly shop where you buy Food for the family for the whole week, Washing powder, Toilet rolls, Kitchen towels, Bleach .. wine, cases of beer. and much more you are likely to need to take the car. I have never been to a Lidl Store but they all seem to cater for that weekly shop and have car parks. Don't think it would suit Lordship lane for that very reason and certainly not for any social class issues. DulwichFox

Naming and shaming local businesses... Right or Wrong...

Is that a fact.. I would be interested to know who that poster might be. ? And which businesses he / she might of been negative about without having been to. and how you know that this regular poster has never been to any of these places.. I myself go to many places unannounced and no one would ever know I had been there. Any problems I have with a restaurant or business I will deal with at the time and not whinge about it on here. There are however other issues other than how good the food is to any establishment that need to be addressed. If for example any restaurant were to refuse to serve anyone on the grounds of Race, Disability or Homophobia I would not darken their doors and would voice my disapproval with them and on here. Fortunately, Ganapati is just > down the road and I live in hope that VZ might > relaunch along those lines. The Curry Club has been going for 8 years and we go to a different L.L. Indian restaurant every month. We have been to all of the Curry restaurants many many times. Usually 6 - 12 of us. We are seldom disappointed. We have been to Ganapati once maybe twice.. ? There were 8 ish of us and certainly several of us were disappointed. I'm a small eater but with a starter, popadoms main, rice, bread, and a dessert I wasn't full. What ever the restaurant is called, supposedly it is to have a B.B.Q pit and serve cocktails. So Indian food with a Turkish twist.. ?? Sound good to me. DulwichFox

I believe he is only allowed 6 pre selected questions and is not permitted to follow up with further questions. Nor can he answer to suggestions / comments put my the PM. ?? It's PM's Q.T. so Cameron is the one to answer questions put to him. DulwichFox

The Menu today in Indian restaurants is far more extensive than it was in 1985.. Fish & Chip shops are offering the same menu straight out of 1860... Foxy

And the one opposite. There are 8 'Curry Houses' on Lordship Lane / Grove Vale. They are hardly 'identikit' tandooris. They are very different as curry lovers like the regulars of the Curry Club would tell you. They all have their own favourite curry places that others are not so keen on. This will be the 4th ? rebirth of an Asian food outlet after previously being a Fish & Chip shop. Eastern Eye, Cinnamon Club, Veer Zara being previous Asian restaurants. No doubt Curry Club (including myself) will be among the first to try out this new place when it opens.. DulwichFox

My old (Mains) Black & Decker Drill with Hammer still going after 25-30 years.. Powerful for most domestic uses.. I have a Wickes battery drill / driver ok for outdoor use (garden). Lacks torque but ok for wood screws for fencing / decking. DulwichFox

Yep.. then Southwark will invest in more stringent monitoring of known fly tipping sites so they can impose hefty fines and make even more money.. We are a nation of fining schemes. Call me an old cynic. DulwichFox

I currently get about 2.9 mb/sec on down load And 0.9 mbt/sec on upload. BT keep sending me bumph to upgrade to Infinity. Today I went on to BT Fon. Free to BT users. And got 9 mbt/sec download and 10 mbt/ sec upload I think this may be a ploy by BT to get people to upgrade. Dulwichfox
