burglary in Goodrich Road (December 01)
DulwichFox replied to lilolil's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
In a domestic situation (house) most fires start downstairs (ie kitchen) whilst the occupants are upstairs in the bedrooms.. Opening an upstairs door is likely to result in a Flashover where the room you are in will combust instantly. Escaping a fire through the front door is not a good idea. DulwichFox.. Ex. *Bob* I did not start the thread. a boner for foxes.... ?? You are ignorant man.. Like wise:- If you want to discuss Ants I'm sure there are 'speciality websites' out there somewhere for you too. DF.

Well it was a thread about Foxes with differing views from various posters. Some interesting discussion.. from both sides.. Looks like *Bob* has done what he does best by hijacking the thread with something totally unrelated. If you have no interest in talking about Foxes and want to talk about Ants, please feel free to start a new thread.. DulwichFox.

Jeremy Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I quite like the foxes too, but it's quite > reasonable for people not to want them howling or > shitting in their gardens. I don't think I'd be > very happy if my neighbour was feeding them. I have more problems with cat s craping in my garden. (and I still like cats.) There is one dominant? large fox.. most of the others are quite scrawny little mites. They are hungry.. that's why the go out at night foraging.. They are not walking the streets for fun. Some might suggest feeding foxes will reduce their ability to naturally hunt. Well foxes do also kill rats and mice.. Problem is that many rats and mice have ingested poison put down to kill them. This in turn will kill foxes. So there is an element of Welfare in me feeding them. DulwichFox.

LadyDeliah / DulwichBorn&Bred Foxes do not over eat... Any food over will be taken away and stored for a later meal. If you watch a fox eat.. they eat slowly. They do not gulp food like a domestic dog that knows there is always more food available from their owner. Foxes seem to savour their food. There may well be a pecking order but they seem to share their food with other foxes. People need to understand foxes. It is a privilege to be in their company. We do not see much wildlife in the city. People in the countryside just kill anything that moves. DulwichFox. P.S. Foxes go out at night.... Like me.. :) Foxy

I have a Fox or two that visits me every night. The come up to my house, sit outside, even sit on my car (Cheeky Buggers) They never come into my garden even though the gate is open. They rarely enter into homes. (I would not encourage them into my house.) There are lots of cats about. The foxes do not bother them. Foxes are timid and often are scared off by cats. I feed the foxes.. They are hungry. They even follow me all the way home from Lordship Lane area. They walk along side me. Sue on EDF a neighbour has witness how to foxes wait for me to come home. No need to be scared of them. DulwichFox

Of course, it goes > without saying, do not touch you computer during > the call. Just make up daft stuff. Yes I do spin them along sometimes expressing seemingly great concern. Their instructions to Click on Start Button and type eventviewer in the search box Then click on Event Event Logs choose Administrative Events is perfectly safe. the information there is meaningless to most people (including me) Just do not download anything or follow any links they might direct you to. Do not give card details/ passwords / or e-mails Usually If you ask them where they got your phone number from they will close the call. If they say from your windows Microsoft ID. they are lying. They cannot see your errors. They cold called you. Or you can just tell them you do not use Windows, you use Linux. They will not know what you are talking about. The people that call you are not technical. If they capture you they will pass you on to another person who will carry out any techy stuff. Foxy

Hi PeckhamRose The Windows calls are a scam... Someone will call you .. and tell you they are from Microsoft Windows They tell you they are seeing errors from your PC. Then they tell you they can fix it. They instruct you to Click on Start Button and type eventviewer in the search box Then click on Event Event Logs choose Administrative Events They will ask you if you can see any warning messages or error reports ( You can try this. It is safe. and you will see warnings and errors) They tell you these are viruses.. They are not They will always be there and are harmless reports. Then they will do one of two things or both.. 1. Ask for your credit card details so you can download software to fix your PC. Any software will be Malware and infect your PC. 2. Get you to download software that will allow them to take control of your PC remotely. They say they will need 15-20 to sort out your problem. Then they are able to steal all your security details. Passwords / bank details. These people are not from Microsoft. Microsoft will NEVER call you. Do not download anything from these people. DulwichFox.

There have been cases of serious bouts of actual Food Poisoning in some very prestigious restaurants. ie. 240 people became ill at the Fat Duck in Bray. (Not a hygiene problem) 3 years ago. In 33 years living in East Dulwich, not heard of anyone actually been 'Poisoned' in any local restaurant. Might be the odd case of , how can I put it... Dodgy Tum. (polite) Anyone who eats any form of Street Food is unlikely to worry too much about Hygiene levels in local restaurants. You are more likely to poison yourself at home through your own poor hygiene or through eating poorly stored food or reheated food such as rice. DulwichFox

It's all bit much when by comparison residents have been warned in the past that they could face prosecution if they cause disruption by reserving parking space for Removal Vans by placing wheelie bins in the road. DulwichFox -

Houses with basement pools in ED. Getting like L.A. 'round here. That's the sort of thing that justifies the ?6.00 pint. It's what E.D needs. Come and live in East Dulwich. If you think you can afford it. DulwichFox. -
