  1. Hi Poppet.. I would not worry too much about comments aimed against you here. It's a Forum Thing to bully new members for expressing a point of view. In the main I tend not to shop on Lordship Lane so do not have personal experiences with poor customer service. But with a general sense of Over-importance and Pretentiousness prevailing it does not surprise me that shop owners adopt a certain air of superiority over their customers. They think they are doing you a favour to actually serve you. I feel sorry for those who may work for these people and can understand why they might not always be in the best of moods. There is nothing on the lane that cannot be bought elsewhere at a more reasonable price. I have recently discovered the lovely area around Herne Hill Station. A great Butchers and a lovely Bakers. (Ye Olde Bakery) both with helpful friendly staff. Also a couple of Caf?/Cake shops with outside seating. I used to drink in Brockley many moons ago. Must give it a visit some time. It is good to get away from the East Dulwich Bubble from time to time. I suppose that suits some people. The sort of people that go on Holiday to Mexico or other locations only to stay in some complex that they never need to leave cos everything is to hand. Foxy
  2. Drove past the Fire Station in Old Kent Rd . The one opposite Trafalgar Avenue. All boarded up. CLOSED.. Not sure when it closed. Thought that was one of the main Stations that might survive the closures.. Crazy... DulwichFox
  3. The refit to the Co-op on Lordship Lane did nothing to improve food choice or quality. Empty shelves. High prices. Freezer cubicle failures. Food close to/on Best Before date.(Old stock Reduced) I thought the Co-op was supposed to be The Peoples Store. Long time ago. DulwichFox

  11. The night of the 1987 storm I attended The CAMRA Beer Festival in Stratford. Knowing that I was going, my work Colleagues said 'So we won't be seeing you tomorrow' I lived in Dunstans Rd at the time opposite Dawson Heights which was devastated. Woke up at 03.00am still slightly P....ed from the night before. Could not work out what was going on. No electricy but phone was working.. In the morning tried to get a bus but they were not going far. No Trains. Trees down everywhere. Got as far as the Old Kent Rd but then had to walk to Black Friars I was the only person out of 15+ people to get to work that day. Trees down, cars crushed, Trees through roofs. Was bad.. Foxy
  12. Thieves have reportedly broken into several Police Stations and stolen all the Loo Seats. Police say They have nothing to go on. Foxy
  13. No money to repair roads.. Got to pay to have bollards painted... and Graffiti . Ooops sorry Street Art. Oh yes.. I almost forgot ... It is a different Budget. Still comes out of your Council Tax. Single Payment. Perhaps we should be given a choice which Budgets we want to contribute to. DulwichFox
  14. Last week I did not see a postman/woman for three days. They used to come down my road 9.30. then 10.30 Mail now comes around about 13.30 - 14.00 Different people all the time. Been hit and miss ever since our regular postman (was his name Colin)? retired. DulwichFox
  15. I think the GE had to tone down their music a bit after some noise issues some time back. and an extension to opening hours was opposed. The Dulwich Eukulele Band used to play there. They were excellent but quite noisy. Trumpet lady was good. So hence a more subdued atmosphere these days.. DulwichFox

(but traffic would be bad) Parking impossible (even at normal times only a few paid parking spaces on Blackheath) Foxy

Don't know why I put Frames.. I meant Tables.... I use DIVs and (AP DIVS new to Dreamweaver CS6)(Formally Layers) defined in CSS which can be then positioned anywhere on the page and have Transitions applied to them. Foxy
  19. It was Created using Parallels Plesk SiteBuilder 4.5.0 Foxy
  20. Agree with AlexC Very amateur attempt at Website. Using Frames.. aarrhh . Will not display correctly in all browsers and screens resolutions Needs some serious work. Needs complete rebuild. I would use CSS & AP DIVS DulwichFox
  21. It was Better before it was coloured in.. Not good, but better. Foxy.
  22. Blackheath used to be a place that on Sat/Sunday would be filled with hundreds of people. Playing with ball games there children, Flying Kites, playing Frisby. Then the local council restricted parking to about a dozen or so Paid Spaces.. The place is now soulless. No one goes there. Just a barren waste land. Restrict parking in the Dulwich Park and risk the same there. DulwichFox
  23. Green Tambourine Lemon Pipers.
  24. I forgot to mention that I also saw a Robin Red Breast on Court Lane yesterday. So with the Snow and the Robin, quiet a Christmas feel. DulwichFox
