  7. Passport arrived today (11 Days) so that's not bad. Is a new e-passport. Two pics inside. One is clear ? but very faint. Original was fine. They haven't used the actual photo I sent. It is embedded into the psge with a hologram over it. Other pic is really grainy and bearly recognizable. More like a graphic. I'm sure it would of been checked before being sent out. Anyone else have a new e-passport. Is yours the same. ?? Foxy.
  8. We would like to Welcome you aboard this flight to New York.. This Plane is Pilotless and is being controlled and flown entirely by our onboard computers. We would like to re-assure passengers that there is absolutely nothing that can go wrong ... go wrong ...go wrong ...go wrong ...go wrong ...go wrong ...go wrong ...go wrong ...go wrong ...go wrong ... Foxy
  9. Although this has been suggested on several occasions, just been on BBC Breakfast. Would you be Happy to fly on a Pilotless Aircraft. ?? I certainly would not. Foxy.
  10. One big problem is geographical location. Surrounded by a Park, Allotnments and a Cemetary, the area is realatively sparsely populated. Even in the 70's when famous bands played there, the place was not packed out with customers. Back in those days having a Couple of pints and driving was acceptable and within legal limits. Many people were happy to sit and watch the bands with a pint or two. The place could not survive on a few customers sipping a couple of pints. Although people tend to drink more these days, especially shots and bottled beers, people may well give the place a try, but I cannot see them making it their regular venue. It is not best served by Public Transport and people aresimply not going to drive there. And a trudge across the park in the wet weather will put off most people. Especially with th Newly opened Clock House within closer reach. I wish any new Venue all the best but when it comes to investment I have to say "I'm Out" Dragon Fox
  11. Shares and Shared Ownership are two different things. Shared Ownership is where a group of people who are not individually able to buy a proprerty do so in a joint partnership. You are responsible for the maintenace of the property and all associated costs. Insurance, Council Tax, Busines rates etc. just as you are with you own home. Shares are what you buy in a PLC and are subject to various levels of risk. If the company goes bust, you lose all your money. If they make money you might make money if the share price rises. When you sell your shares you will be subject to CGT. Capital Gains Tax. It's compltecated. Do not understand what is the case with the Ivy House deal. ? Is it shares or shared ownership. Cannot see how anyone can make any money. Who pays the bills.? DulwichFox.
  12. Cycles ARE restricted to the speed limit. A friend of mine was pulled over by Police after being clocked doing +30 MPH down Dog Kennel Hill. If you hit a pedestrian at any speed you will do them harm. Over 20 MPH you could kill them. Especially a child. Think about it. 168lb Cyclist hitting you at 20+ mph If you have to stop suddenly, you will probably go over the handle-bars. You could kill yourself. Foxy
  13. I went there in 1980 ish No idea who I went with... There was no one else in the place. No idea what I ate. Remember it was expensive. Never been back.. Oh well.. Another Indian Restaurant ?? Cannot remember how big it is Foxy.
  14. LadyDeliah wrote: Lard arses, well it's been proven that car drivers tend to become less active, making unesseary short journeys by car resulting in an increase in all the diseased associated with sedentary lifestyles. Yes I use my car for short journeys when I go to Tescos.. The only reason I still have a car is for 15 years I took my 85 year old disabled mother shopping and to her regular doctors trips... My Mum died April 2012.. I developed type-2 diabetes 2 years afo despite walking up to 5 miles a day for the last 8 years and being under 9 stone.. Hardly a Lardy inactive fellow.. I would be happy to invite you for one of my longer walks..then we would find out who is sedentry. ..and I am in my 60's You really need to think more before you post here.. Foxy
  15. I have no real problem with Cyclists using the public roads But.. Cycle Lanes Are JUST for Cyclists.. For their sole use... someone needs to pay for them.. I do not Cycle.. Why should I pay for them. ? LadyDeliah:-- "So as a cyclist who pays tax, I am subsidising motorists, not the other way round." NO you're not... To suggest you pay for Public Car Parks... ??? Have you ANY idea how much it costs motorists to use them. They are Money Pots for Local Authorities.. lard arse drivers .. What does that mean..??? So you Never travel by car.. Yes we all pay Taxes.. Including me.. I pay all the same taxes that you pay. I drive less than 2,000 miles per year. < 40 miles per week.. Still pay ?200.00 Road Tax. ?400.00 Insurance. ?60.00 MOT per year. and for parking... Plus I pay Tax on my petrol. So you are Not subsidising me. I do not have children but pay for schools.. So if you have kids, I am subsisising you. As for Pollution.. Well China has few cars and Millions of Bicycles... Still one of the most polluted countries on Earth. There are many more factors involved with pollution other than cars.. so when it comes to NHS costs think about how you heat your home That will do for now.. Foxy
  16. Cyclists Should pay Road Tax... They expect Dedicated Cycle Lanes and these are available Also Dedicated Cycle Lane Traffic lights. (Usually ignored by Cyclists) All this costs money.. Who Should pay for these. Cylists Do also cause Accidents but do not require insurance. Anyone can jump on a Bicycle with no experiance and reguardless of age. The whole thing is ridiculous.
