  1. Fail to see he difference between me talking about a bad day waiting for public transport ...and those who post on here about a Cold Curry or a having to wait 20 mins for a coffee.. ?? a bottle of pee and you get endless posts... and I get accused of an inane thread. DulwichFox

Genuine question.. not being negative. Is there a separate bar/area for other drinkers.. Foxy.
  5. I noticed that the position of he tree was in direct line with a water stop cock. So the feed from the road to the house would appear to go through the roots. or very close. The tree should never of been placed there in the first place. Foxy.

Jeremy.. the whole point of my trip was the bus journey. Just yesterday went wrong.. I normally travel to Richmond , walk to Twickers, have a beer walk back to Richmond 337, 37 back to Dulwich. All started after I won a Raffle in 2008 in the Clock House. The prize was 6 Tickets for a Rowing boat for the day at Richmond Bridge. Had a great day on the river... Rowed to Twickers.. Now I walk there. Some pics below. not such a miserable mangy old fox. Foxy

I walk Every day.. locally... Usually before I eat. Can always buy water on route.. Some walks are longer than others.. One of my walks is East Dulwich - Hearn Hill - Brixton - Oval - Camberwell - East Dulwich. 17,000+ steps. 9-10 miles.. Generally go for 10,000 steps with a 5,000 step minimum.. power walking depending on knee . Old 'war' wound. That was also a prob yesterday. Half way to Kew my knee went which slowed me down. Foxy
  10. Sue I did intend to eat during the day.. I never take food when I go out.. And water @ ?3.00 a litre makes East Dulwich look cheap I did think I might find an Indian open. The ones I passed on the way to the river were closed. There was one open but it would of cost be ?30.00 for a simple curry/ rice / pops / and a beer. So thought I would wait. I did not have any reason to go to Richmond Station which I have been to before to meet people at the nearby cafes. There are no shops either side of Kew Bridge. There is a pub next to the Station. I realised when I saw the old water works ?? I once went to Kew in 1970 for a course There are many new developments, mostly offices and industrial. It was a mistake to go there. After 40 years had totally forgotten what Kew was like. The only shop is a Sainsbury. Does not look that Kew has a centre like Richmond say. and nothing on the river. Kew was deserted. I think people go there just for the Gardens. My thread is about the time I spent waiting for buses... and buses being cancelled, stopping short of destination. Like I said Richmond is a regular trip which I enjoy. That's why I went. Just everything went wrong. >> Does anything make you happy, Foxy? Ever?? Many things.. Do not think many folk would of been happy with the problems I had with public transport yesterday. Foxy
  11. I do the Richmond trip several times a year.. It is a very pleasant bus ride. (Normally) The walk To Twickenham is very pleasant with several riverside Pubs at the end. Not so for Kew with the walk taking 3 times as long. TopTree Today, 09:56AM What is the point of your post ? Do you just need to get more friends to talk to? Or is it a cry for help because you have no friends? Point of post was to highlight state of transport... No not looking for more friends.. I do the Richmond walks to get away from people. ============================================================================================== El Pibe Today, 10:27AM Overground Denmark Hill -> Clapham J 16 mins train Clapham Junction -> Richmond 9 mins Schoolboy error? Fully aware of all alternative routes. I like the bus journey.. ============================================================= Sue. And surely you could have taken food/water with you or found somewhere to buy some? There are shops in both Richmond and Kew (by the station). Did not go to Richmond to walk around the shops.. otherwise I would of gone to Oxford Street. They may well of proved worse. Supposedly the reason the 12 bus could not continue from Elephant to Dulwich was because Regent st was closed. Work that one out. Sue Said "Personally I think it's quite nice to be somewhere where there are lots of people on a lovely day all enjoying the weather." It was like a street market, Rammmed, you could not even get into the pubs and restaurants. An standing outside a Youngs pub with a plastic 'glass' after queing for 20 mins is really not my idea of fun. The walk from Richmond to Kew has the river on the left and a very stagnant stream to the right. There are many diseased trees. It is also quite hazardous with dozens of cyclist who tear along that narrow path. there are no turn offs and no pubs. not even when you get to Kew. Well there is a pub my the station. You should have walked round the corner to The Actress and watched the tennis, instead .. I went out to Avoid the bloody tennis... I suspect that is the reason Richmond was so busy.. People avoiding the Tennis... Foxy.
  12. Recovering from Dreadful Sunday Travel. Thought I would have a relaxing Sunday by the River at Richmond.. 37 bus stuck in traffic at Brixton.... Then diversion before Clapham Junction... so took 1 Hour.. 337 destination board 8 mins -- 7 - 6 - 5 - 4 - 3 - 2 - 1 - due - due -due ----- 16 mins. eventually came.. Another 50 mins to reach Richmond.. Incredible traffic. Richmond was Rammed. hardly anywhere to sit down.. Normally take a walk to The White Swan in Twickenham by the River but decided to walk the other way to Kew.. The walk along the River to Kew is not a pretty one, with little river activity. Even the planes were not flying overhead. Sign at Richmond sign said Kew 1 1/4 miles... after 2,500 steps, 20-25 mins sign said Kew 1 1/4 miles.. Eventually reached Kew Gardens.. That's nice I thought last time I was here Kew Gardens was 1p One Old Penny.. Well I was expecting it to of gone up a bit but ?16.00 plus they ask for a donation..(Optional) and car drivers have to pay ?6.50 to use their car park . Walked on expecting Kew to have some riverside pubs like Richmond or Twickers... There is Nothing there.. Walked over the Bridge .. There is no town ???? went to Kew Station.. train aproaching . tried to swipe Oyster but people in front were having trouble with built in ticket machine.... The terain doors shut in my face.. so I missed the train.. Finally swiped card only to find next train was 50 mins . Now left with a swiped Oyster card .... Swiped out at Kew.. No useful bus service.. back across bridge.. Took boat ride to Westminster 1 Hour .. Wonderful... relaxing..... Just need to get 12 bus back to Dulwich.. 1st Bus.. Elephant & Castle... 2nd Bus Elephant & Castle...3rd Bus Elephant & Castle... spoke to driver who told me that the 12 Bus does NOT go to Dulwich.. from Westminster.. Well it does. so had to go to the Elephant and change... Then got on a 176 to Penge.... They changed drivers just before Camberwell Green 10 min delay... then when we got to Camberwell Green ... 1 Stop. There was an announcement that the bus was terminating and we were told to dissembark People got off but the bus was still taking new passengers from the front.. Big row and we were all told to get back on.... Finally got back to East Dulwich.. Wrecked... 29 Deg C walked over 8 miles in total. with just 500ml water. and no food all day Foxy

  16. MANCHESTER, UNITED KINGDOM, May 22 (MARKET WIRE) -- One of the UK's leading Insurance companies is advising homeowners to control any plants and roots on their property in case they over grow and damage their own house or neighbouring properties. -- Tree Root Damage - If a person who owns land has a tree or other plants growing on it and the roots cause damage to neighbouring properties, they may be liable to pay the cost of repairing the damage. The liability will depend on whether or not the damage was reasonably foreseeable. Once informed of any damage caused by tree roots, the person owning the land with the trees on must take steps to prevent further damage. Councils are having to cut down trees which may become a problem if allowed to grow. They would be deemed responsible for damage to property damaged by trees. http://www.reuters.com/article/2011/05/22/idUS69915+22-May-2011+MW20110522 Foxy

  18. You can download Opanda IExif from here. http://www.opanda.com/en/iexif/download.htm It displays the image taken from digital camera and every item of EXIF data in the image from beginning to end. Even down to the number of the picture that your camera has ever taken. Foxy
  19. Yes there is a reason why you will have great difficulty in doing what you want. Metadata (Exif) is written to the card by the camera. This is done differently by various camera manufacturers. Image editors have to interpet this info to create the image on your computer, during this process the image editor damages/alters or even removes the metadata. Without this data being present in it's original form the camera cannot read the file. info source http://www.pcadvisor.co.uk/forums/1/tech-helproom/4146359/transfer-photos-to-camera-sd-card/ Foxy
