Well I said ?10.00 for a bottle of beer. I believe the Draft House does some bottled beer at ?11.75 approx. I did not say it was the Norm. I said it becomes the Norm. ?7.50 for a Coffee and a Croissant. Is about the NORM. Where is the nearest Builders Caf?. ? A builder in my road asked where the nearest proper Caf? was. Just last week. He had stumbled across "Some poncy place doing #*%^&ing Duck Eggs." and wanted a proper lunch. DulwichFox

It is because Some people seem happy to pay ?12.00 for a burger it becomes the Norm. It is because Some people seem happy to pay ?10.00 for a bottled beer it becomes the Norm. That is the Snob Element. It inflates prices and landlords know it.. So they are able to be selective and put up rents. That's what has been happening. But the Bubble has Burst. We are now seeing the beggining of the collapse. Businesses are closing and they will only be replaced with The Big Boys. People have been craving for M&S and Waitrose. People only have themselves to blame. Foxy

Still do not get WHY?? anyone would regularly take their Laptop and stand on a street corner. Why that location. ?? Does sound kind of strange. One answer COULD ? be he is downloading Music or illegal Software from sites such as 'Warez' and does not want to be tracked. People are responsible for their Internet Security. Failing to provide secure access COULD ? leave you open to prosecution for Violation of Copywright law. Foxy

May not be internet related. Could be using customer lines. (2 wire copper) to make long distant calls. DulwichFox.

Not familiar with cabinet connectors or if it would be possible to make an internet connection should he be able open the cabinet. He was wearing ear phones.. The small ones that fit in your ears. Water bubbling up from the ground on the North Cross Road

What are their priorities, > exactly? > > Ooops edited for typo! They were there at 23.00 last night.... One has to think about the Technical implications of the operation. To Repair the Main the water would need to be turned off. If this is done whilst there is demand for water, people would drain their domestic supply dry. Their tanks would run empty and their pipes would be air locked. Their Boilers could be damaged if hot water is drawn off and may need bleeding afterwards. If the leak is not too serious and NOT in a 3 foot main, then waiting until demand is low will prevent all of those problems. Foxy -
Where has the Electrical shop cafe gone???

NO.. Twirly said ' He mentioned that they were applying for a later licence, possibly till 9. That would suggest they were already licenced.. and I said. 'Did not know the Electrical Shop Caf? was Licenced.. ? ' Foxy -
Landlords can sit on properties they own for months years paying minimal rates until a suitable (to them) tenant comes along. Their properties rise in value.. Landlords need to be fined for properties left empty. DulwichFox

Good shop with helpful staff. Well at least they will still be in ED. The 'Pessimistic' ?? Fox has been predicting the demise of Lordship Lane for some time now. Well the likes of those Favouring the ?12.00 burger and ?12.00 bottle of Craft beer only have themselves to blame. The Snob Element has helped to establish a situation where only those places charging such prices can afford the rent and rates. Well now the Greedy Landlords or raising the bar. Even those places can no longer compete. The Bubble has Burst. So more generic stores , estate agents.. or indeed Closed down Shops. Not the first time in the History of Lordship Lane / North Cross Road. DulwichFox

The Puppet Game Show has to be the most irritating program ever. I saw the Trailer for the show and had already made up my mind. Utter Tripe... This is what the BBC is spending your Licence Fee on. Of course this is just Foxy being Negative.. expect a deluge of support for the show. DulwichFox

Did not know the Electrical Shop Caf? was Licenced.. ? Foxy. -
I would not advise proceeding without a solicitor... ... unless you understand clearly what you liabilities are with regards to any major building works that may be needed. ...People have been hit with unexpected bills of Thousands of pounds to repair roofs, lifts, rewiring... which council tenant in the same block would not be charged for. ...These charges may not be covered by your annual ground rent. You could save money in the long run. DulwichFox.
