  1. It looked like the Jewellery lady had claimed possession of said bench on Saturday by draping a large piece of fabric over it and securing it with a large crocodile clip thingy. Was bound to happen.. DulwichFox

I had a flat in Dunstans rd which I used to rent out. I owned it for 21 years and lived in it for 16 years I sold it at that point to avoid Capital Gains tax. also got Taper Relief. It's a matter of doing things at the right time. Unfortunately in 2008 the interest rates collapsed and I would of been better off renting the place out. Win some, Lose some. Fox.

House prices across London have fallen by 0.6% in the last quarter Nationwide B.S. and are estimated to fall further. When I had my first Mortgage 1980 ..?15,000, interest rates were 15% and rose to 17% for a short period. Paying ?370 P/M Wages ?400 p/m I had ?30 per month to live on. Now With savings I get no interest so I am like many other older savers are effectively paying for new home owners mortgages. I have lost >?90,000 since 2008. So NO I am NOT happy. Fox

I'm Honoured you have singled The Fox out. So last year. Take note, I The Fox did not start this thread, but no such insults to Original Poster. DF

Between 1972 & 1985 I worked at Bishopsgate Telephone Exch. Jerome street just off of Commercial St. I remember The old Spitalfields market. It was a fascinating place. It's dreadful what's become of that place. But the whole area is now unrecognisable. I suppose though, something needed to be done with the area. It has not been done sympathetically. DulwichFox

All a matter of perspective, really. Safer ? Nicer There has NEVER in the history of East Dulwich been more Burglaries.. Robberies.. Attacks on the person.. Bike Crime... Littering ... Dog Fouling .. as there is today.. I have lived in the immediate area for 37 years.. DulwichFox

Gentrification to satisfy the whims of the few (often from out side the local community) to the detriment of people who have lived in the community all their lives. Community Cleansing. It's criminal. DulwichFox

  13. Tried Flaming Mangal Rye Lane today... Opted for the Lamb Shish. With Rice.. Bulgar wheat.. and Salad. (8 large chunks of tender lamb.) Salad was very fresh and varied but too much for me. Came with Large basket of Naan style bread.. Plenty of Yogurt.. Chilli sauce .. and more than enough Olives Turkish Tea on the house.. came to ?12.50 Very nice food. Very good value. I was stuffed. Large restaurant but lacking atmosphere. only 7-8 people in at 15.00ish. Did not know it was BYOB so did not have a drink. (The do not charge corkage) Will definitely be back. DulwichFox

It's clear you aren't a > vegetarian now, let alone a vegan, for example. My concern for animal welfare does not stop with the food I eat. I am concerned for the Welfare of all animals on this planet. Land and Sea. But no one can be expected to obtain a historic record of the animals they eat every time they have a meal. and once again I do not have Preferences for cheap chicken and meat. I do not go on about any work I do for the many Charities I support and the donations I make and the monies I collect. I just get on with it. But while we are on the Subject I will out tonight selling Raffle tickets in The EDT in aid of the RNIB as I have done for the last 12 years.. DulwichFox

If you choose to > eat killed animals then I suppose you have to make > a judgment call on what is truly free range (if > that's your preference). Given your distinct and oft repeated preference for very cheap meat dishes, it is clear that you are not concerned about the farming practices that facilitate such cheap meat. > I'm not judging you - it's your personal choice > which you are entitled to make, but suggesting > people are fools for getting conned by free range > produce (while claiming to be concerned about > animal welfare) might to some people seem a bit > bold in the circumstances. I Have No such Preference for Cheap meat. I eat very small amounts of meat. I tend to eat Prawn or King Prawn dishes in 'Indian' restaurants. Yes Chicken too. and Very rarely Lamb. I have only made reference to what I consider to be over pricing in some outlets. As for it 'being clear' I am not concerned about the farming practices that facilitate such cheap meat. I think it is your mind that is clouded. I was once Vegetarian in the past for about 3 years and kept a strict veggie diet during that period. So you really have no idea the lengths I go to, to ensure animal welfare. DulwichFox
  20. As I understand it, caged Birds (Hens) are used in producing Eggs not as 'meat' Foxy
  21. I'm as guilty as the next man by eating chicken and meat that may not of been reared in perfect conditions. BUT. big BUT I do not get all High and Mighty about only eating FREE Range produce when it is clear we are ALL being conned by the term Free Range and what it actually. If we eat out, NONE of us can be sure what we are eating. Foxy
  22. I have not suggested any deliberate acts of Cruelty by Zippo and the horses look fine. Don't put your words into my mouth. I just think with all the other brilliant acts animal acts are not needed. If Humans want to endanger their lives, then that is fine. DulwichFox
  23. The term Free Range will make people feel better about themselves. People that do not understand what the term means.. DulwichFox.
  24. The term Free Range is virtually Meaningless. There may be small holdings that rear a few chickens. Free Range means that Chickens have access to the outside. Often Thousands of chickens are housed in vast sheds with doors to the outside world. However chickens tend to stay close to their source of food which is generally inside the sheds. Many will stay inside all of their short lives 30 days to 6 months. Do not confuse Free Range with Organic. Not all Free Range chickens are Organic. Although Organic Chickens are more expensive, Free Range has very little baring on quality or price. These chickens 16,000 of them are legally classified asFree Range. http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2013/11/15/article-2508173-196418FF00000578-486_634x389.jpg Source http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2508173/16-000-free-range-chickens-crammed-shed-NEVER-daylight.html DulwichFox

I detest Horse Racing. Disapprove of Show-Jumping and Dressage .. Dressage involves Horses performing extremely unnatural movements. Restraints to hold their necks and heads in uncomfortable / unnatural positions. I am ok with Horses being used in Ceremonial events such as Weddings and Funerals. These Horses are bred to be strong and work at natural speeds which is unlikely to harm them. DulwichFox
