  4. We have no small children so I was a bit sceptical, however it was quite magical, it?s basically a walk around the park with lights and soothing music. There are food and drink stalls but queues are quite long. As a winter evening stroll it was very enjoyable.people have said it?s quite expensive, but then so are most things nowadays.
  5. Yes, film crews are tested every day , every three days and every week depending on what department they are in.
  6. Thank you all for your input. I have it sorted now.
  7. What is a reasonable charge per hour for someone to tutor a year 5 pupil in English and maths?
  8. Ive been vegan almost 2 years and my go to book is BOSH it gives you a list of all the things you need to have in the store cupboard. Initially it is expensive to buy all the spices etc but once you have a stock of them you can rustle up a meal in no time, everything I've tried from the book is a winner. I would never go back to meat now as I realise that it does nothing to enhance the flavour of a meal. As for lacking iron and protein , the ones all the non vegans seem to think you must be lacking, I have just had a full body check up and all my levels are normal and cholesterol has gone down to 3.2 . I am also in remission from cancer ( no, I'm not claiming it was because of plant diet) I just want to give myself best chances.
  9. It's okay someone has kindly messaged me. Sorted.
  10. Does anyone know the name of the lady who has the stall selling make up bags, eye masks, purses made out of fabric print. I went today but the stall wasn't there, wondered how I could contact her as I want to buy presents from the stall.
  11. Ive been using lenstore for years too. Order in morning and usually arrive next day. Never had a problem with them.
  12. Mine did the same took it round to the back garden and repotted trimmed off all the brown put it in a bigger pot and it is now flourishing.
  13. Today while shopping in sainsburys ed pI was approached by a lovely woman who commented on how fantastic she thought I looked. I would just like to say thank you again for making my day, you weren't to know but although I have at the moment a lovely head of pink hair I am actually undergoing chemotherapy , and after some awful days when you feel like a wreck today's comment really cheered me up. So whoever you are THANK YOU.
  14. I spent 3 hours of my life last night getting car insurance Saga was a staggering ?1236 ! I finally got one down to 506 then in the end got my husband to do it with me as a named driver for 398 . Someone ran into my car while stationary last year, but it still affects the insurance, they wrote our car off as well so we have lost out all ways.Insurance is a joke.Used go compare who were cheaper than the meerkat one, even though same companies.
  15. I went to Evans to get a bolt for my saddle, they told me it wasn't a common bolt and either I could go online and order from the manufacturer or buy a new stem that the saddle attaches to. I then crossed over and went into Balfe's who provided the bolt within a minute. Job done, I know nothing about fixing bikes and was ready to buy a whole new part, Balfe's saved me the expense.
  16. We bought Cat mate from Pets at Home in Sydenham, it is the circular one with enough for four meals .Used it for a couple of nights away, practise with it first so you know you've set it right. We also left dry food out just in case it failed but it was empty when we returned.
  17. Do you mean Sydenham girls or Sydenham high?
  18. What would make my christmas is some bloody fairy lights that don't tangle.Last year I carefully wrapped them round some cardboard but still when I went to unwrap them they got in a twist, determined not to give up I have spent nearly an hour straightening them out, a big cheer went up when I succeeded and then when I turned them on, only half of them work. The look on my family's face when I stamped on them and crushed the buggers to bits was priceless. Now I am sitting staring at a bare dark tree in the corner , my dreams in ruins.
  19. As someone who works in school and spends lunchtime as a first aider I would like to say that we find that in early years children learn very quickly that any slight knock will get them a visit to the medical room , if they bump their head they will also get the coveted sticker. As a school we have to take any head knock seriously and inform the parents even if its just two giggly girls just knocking their heads together when eating lunch. It is not unusual for some parents to get a call every day. These bumps and knocks are things that if we were out in the park with our own kids we would just hit it a rub, but due to over anxious parents we cannot take the risk that we have not taken it seriously. Little ones charge around and do knock into one another, we have plenty of staff but accidents do happen, we are forever telling them to stop running around with skipping ropes and hoops but other than stopping all games there is not much we can do to stop falls and trips. I do agree that some schools have had to fight for space since the bulge intakes and it is usually a case of staggering play times. Remember up until 5 your child will have only been playing in small groups and it takes them a while to get used to being aware of having to look out for others.
  20. Some timed ago we heard a commotion one evening. On the top garden steps was a fox with its teeth on my cats back. My cat came through the flap and the fox tried to follow. I had always thought they weren't a threat but it could have got into the garden and my cat wanted to defend her area.
  21. What about making one? An offcut of fake grass (glued to a board if you want something more solid)A mirror or cardboard covered with foil for a pond. Make fences and buildings out of Lego which can be rebuilt into a zoo for a bit of variety. Then relatives just need to give animals or Lego. When the farm is outgrown the Lego will still have endless possibilities. Grandfathers are usually very good at these things. I remember my Dad made one for me as a child and I still treasure the thought of him taking the time to do this for me.
  22. Went there at christmas with 3 grandchildren. 10, 5 and 4 my son got pulled up several times for taking in the 3 of them, so I had to go in in the end.
