  1. Thanks , I posted mine first but I guess my title wasn't as catchy as 'Earthquake ' but as long as people aware and sign the petition then I'll step down .
  2. Locked as it's a duplicate of the one in the Lounge http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?20,1455149 - Admin This email was sent to me today via 38 degrees . The government is trying to change the law so big energy companies can drill for gas under our homes - without asking us. [1] Dulwich and West Norwood is sat on top of a seam of gas - and it?s already been earmarked for drilling. [2] So unless these plans are stopped, gas could be sucked from under your home very soon. But together, we could do just that. Because to change the law the government needs MPs to vote for it in parliament. And the vote's in just a few weeks. [3] Let's make it clear that backing dirty energy companies over constituents would be a toxic move. A huge people-powered petition against the plans - which we can hand in to our MPs - will make sure all MPs know the way they should vote. Will you stand up for your home - and everyone else's? Click here to sign the petition: SIGN THE PETITION https://secure.38degrees.org.uk/vote-against-fracking The plans - simple changes to existing trespass law - could mean your home surrounded by noisy machines, and your local park turned into a gas field. All without your permission. The process - known as fracking - could also poison our water and produce toxic waste. And it?s known to cause earthquakes. [4] All over the country, people and local councils have been refusing planning permission to dirty energy companies for fracking. [5] But this change in the law takes away our power to say no to it happening under our homes. When we work together, we?re stronger. And we?re not alone. Greenpeace supporters, Friends of the Earth members and thousands of grassroots campaigners are all standing hand-in-hand to stop these plans, for each other's homes. [6] It?s a truly people-powered effort. Will you join us? 3. SJ, I have to say without being able to see your expression and hear your tone I did take your message below to be a bit of a dig . You could have just left it at the first line . 4. What what what? Re the clique , I joined back in the day and everyone was really lovely then some of us had kids and became grumpy impatient sods which reflected in our short tempered posts. I know quite a few people on here personally know each other but I have more of an issue with the posters who are so rude in their replies and like to belittle others , there is just no need for it but generally I just kick my door in frustration and let it go when I come across the likes . It's just a forum at the end of the day with your usual mixture of people . StraferJack Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > whihc thread gone? 5. It's awful generally around Dulwich, enough is enough and we need to do something to stop this disgusting habit from the few lazy dog owners .
  6. He used to be in the shop by sainsburys but has relocated to the corner shop next to the funeral place and its impossible for them to earn a living with the scaffolding in the way . I'm glad he is at home and it wasn't worse .
  7. Oh my goodness ! Poor guy! I really hope he isn't badly injured . Poor man as he has to move from his previous location to try and run a business in a building with ongoing work that was obstructing his shop and losing him customers and business . Some people are just truly inconsiderate . I hope he has a speedy recovery .
  8. A wedding at Heber school?! I've heard it all now !
  9. We saw it ! So exciting .. Our very first viewing of a space shuttle , sorry Father Christmas . Merry Christmas everyone ! X
  10. Oh yes ! Though I bet I end up looking in the wrong direction .
  11. Does anyone know what direction it will be flying over Dulwich at 5.20pm tonight? I am told the space station/Father Christmas will be very visible .
  12. I agree with above. It was better than all the other grottos I have been to but it still wasn't great. I was expecting a lot after all the reviews and thought the same as BB. Also , we were expecting a real reindeer but they had these fake ones which were barely visible ! Why mention there are reindeers when it was just a bit of twig that you could barely notice ? I'll give Hamley's a go next year .
  13. They have always been super with me and not sure how shouting at them would be effective since the ones at the sorting office don't do the deliveries.
  14. My mother lives locally so definitely no travelling for us . It'll be chicken and gammon as we do not like Turkey, lots of wines from the local shops and hopefully some very happy smiley faces on Christmas day when presents are unwrapped . I love this area at Christmas , loved the whole Christmas cracker event, the fairs and the carols . I like that it's very acceptable to neck mulled wine during daylight, wear novelty hats and jumpers ... It's Christmas after all! It's magical . I like embracing my inner child . I have even purchased a Christmas CD this year so if you hear anyone belting out 'Last Christmas' by Wham, that will be me . Merry Christmas Dulwichians! X
  15. Heber is tiny so I wouldn't use that as comparison .
  16. WW, you obviously don't walk down the roads we walk down every single day because there iS poo on a very regular basis and it's disgusting . We all walk with our heads down now as we are so used to seeing poo and and trying to step out of the way of each poo encounter . Lots of people don't see the poo either judging by the ones that have been stepped in.
  17. It's just ironic as that road is awful for dog poo and James arranged for bag it and bin it stencils plus bins and it has not improved anything at all , in fact I would say there appears to be more dog fouling . These people need dog poo rubbed in their faces as they evidently do not care at all and it's obviously the same offenders as its every day but around here is awful for poo though some pavements are better than others .
  18. I made a point of telling my friends how lucky I am to live in an area that has street parties each summer ( Big Lunch) and the Christmas Cracker event , my child loved the free jingle bell gift as well as having a boogie to the music . It was lovely to see a huge turn out and people enjoying themselves .
