  1. I loved my midwife that I saw at Townley for my antenatal check ups and the distance to Kings was better suited especially as I had to endure extra scans ( it's very very busy there however so waiting times is always long ). I can't say I had a good experience at Kings during my labour , it was a weekend , I had trainees staff in charge of my care , the whole experience from beginning to end was rather horrific , chaotic and I still try not to think about it five years on . I put that down to just bad luck on my part with the staff I had and the timing as I go to Kings for other reasons and have found the service superb in other departments . I have to say if I became pregnant again I would still choose Kings simply for location as I did end back up in Kings maternity ward due to an infection after the birth and the service there was good and it was easier for family to visit . I have heard that the maternity ward has improved a lot since my experience .

  6. Born here , grew up here, moved away , liked it for a bit , missed Dulwich after a while, came back and will not be moving anywhere else again . I love it here but I have a lot of ties here .

  11. Does anyone know if this requires planning permission ?
  12. Hoping to go for a metal bike shed . I have seen lots of bike sheds in the front gardens around Dulwich but when I looked online to buy one it said about planning permission ?!
  13. It is true that to have a bike shed/ storage in the front garden that I would need to obtain planning permission?
  14. I honestly assumed that it was going to be one site and that the plan was the East Dulwich Hospital site . Two different Harris Primaries in East Dulwich is not something I would lend my support to .
  15. I used Eco organic paint, pricey but its great . No fumes at all! http://www.ecosorganicpaints.co.uk

  17. The photos doesn't do the art any justice as it's very vibrant and colourful but as there was a van in the way I couldn't take a better photo . Hopefully someone else will post up a clearer picture when the van has moved .
  18. I spoke to the man in question today at William Rose and he said he was misquoted and never used the word 'rough'. I told him to pop on here to explain the article . Not sure if he will but he was lovely about it and not happy with how he was misquoted in the Guardian.
  19. Check out the wall art on the shop wall:
  20. Lived here all my life and it was never rough , well apart from What was Yilmaz and Casablanca but other than that , it was never a no go area . William Rose came to Dulwich because they knew the people in the area would flock to their shop, and spend their cash on free range and 'organic ' meat . Maybe he should have used a better description to describe Dulwich as what he meant ( up and coming maybe ?) is not correctly portrayed with the word 'Rough'.
  21. My child enjoyed Santa at Horniman's. His did his job talking to my son and listening to him , the present was useful . Grotto was basic but it had a tree , fireplace , presents and santa so little ones will be happy enough .
  22. Went Horniman's today, Santa was really lovely , my child really liked talking to Santa and the present was a torch which is pretty handy . The grotto wasn't wow but for little ones its enough .
