Mynamehere , I had wondered what happened to that automatic reading sign as its been there for years serving no purpose whatsoever. Really hope they do something there as we always worry when we hear brakes screeching as you just don't want lives being taken needlessly just because people are in a hurry to get somewhere .

No need For that post DJKQ. Driver drove too fast as mother and child crossed the road , there was others crossing too so the child was holding the mother's hand but was behind her as there wasn't enough room to walk side by side . The lady driver in her BMW hit the girl hard enough to make her fall to the floor, if she had drove at a sensible speed that wouldn't have happened , thank God it wasn't more serious . Police and ambulance were called to the scene of accident . I cross that island daily . Drivers still whizz by at a speed , really handy when you are stuck at the middle part of the island which is tiny and a buggy hoping that none of the cars will hit you or at least one driver will stop .
-
There is definitely more accidents then that as we witness most of them Being as its directly outside the house , so far there has been a motorbike accident , a car that crashed into a wall and now this little girl holding her mother's hand whilst crossing at the island . Thankfully it wasn't serious though it did traumatise everyone this morning. I have witnessed a death as well from a moped speeding. A zebra crossing would help hopefully as the island doesn't make any stop . The bus lane is also a stupid addition as they speed down lordship lane where drivers speed down upland road to come out onto lordship lane where is where most of the collisions tend to happened.
-
James another accident again today on lordships lane where Upland and Court Lane is , a little girl because of drivers constantly speeding down there and even with the island , they don't stop and they don't slow down . Can we not have speed cameras also a pedestrian button/lights on the island to make cars stop ?

Air pollution harming schoolchildren

I am glad you are taking action , I would be happy to take part in any future petitions/campaigns for improving air quality . -
He wouldn't eat it if he could see it . I chop them all up in tiny pieces and cook them in a sauce with his chicken . He doesn't eat any other meat or any fish just chicken and I change around the vegetables and chuck in sweet potatoes etc as well . Hence orange juice with calcium plus floridix Multi vitamins mixed in his morning juice . That way we have all bases covered . Lots of outdoors for vitamin D. I am hoping when he starts school he will start eating fish but he is very very wary about what he eats due to his allergies and will only eat food that he trusts won't make him ill, which is chicken/pasta and toast with marmite etc! ( the Vegs and carbs is me being crafty by disguising it).

Just to say re the sugar in the orange juice my son has his with his breakfast , lunch and dinner and brushes his teeth with an xylitol toothpaste as well as a normal toothpaste and his teeth is lovely , white and no sign of erosions . I do water down his juice also . He doesn't have anything like Oat milk , he is a picky eater ( allergies to various food , detergents etc) He refuses any form of liquid but water and his calcium orange juice . He eats lots of chicken with various green leafy vegetables mixed in such as spinach , watercress , curly kale, broccoli etc . Your child sounds like more of a better eater so hopefully you can top up her calcium easily .

You can take it as negative if that is the way your mind is inclined to think . They took it as imbalanced . You can take it up with them if you , I would gladly point you in their direction. bessieanne Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I find your comments offensive "comments by black > people that its more black pupils there" guess its > not Peckham! are you implying that Black has a > negative impact, however, even so you should not > feel so comfortable to post such dergatory > comments. > Back to GG There was an article In the Peoples > Reuplic of Southwark & LBS website that at a > council assembly a GG parents complaint about > not recieving the complaints form, see below > > School bans parents - Peoples Republic of > Southwark > www.peoplesrepublicofsouthwark.co.uk/.../1796-goos > e-green-...

Odd 'solvent' smell coming from kitchen??
Dulwich Born And Bred replied to MrsMc's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I have noticed a bleach solvent type of smell in my bath water :/ -
Anyone else noticed that East Dulwich Forum has an increased amount of posters from areas out of Dulwich? I get excited about purchasing an item or going for a job only to find out the item or job is in Beckenham/Brixton/Clapham/Honor Oak etc not so easy to get to without a car . I like using this forum as I am naturally assuming everything is local and walking distance . I think we should get ell posters to attend Dulwich library with proof of their identity and address in Dulwich, anyone who doesn't live within the boundaries of Dulwich will be denied membership of EDF. I jest of course but pah! I like it just being Dulwich related !

Didn't Addison the cab company try to make it work for parents ? -
Whereas for say Goodrich its says on the Ofsted report that Goodrich is much larger than most primary schools. Around half of the pupils are of White British heritage. The rest are from a range of minority ethnic groups, the largest of which are Black Caribbean and Black African. Compared to for Goose Green: Just over 85% of pupils come from a range of ethnic backgrounds other than White British: the largest groups are Black African and Black Caribbean .
-
A lot of people have commented on the fact that its not as diverse as the other schools and I think that makes a lot of white middle class parents uncomfortable . I think Ofsted said that over 85 percent of the pupils are from an ethnic background namely black Caribbean and African. As pointed on another thread about private/state education and connecting with people outside of their usual circle and sticking to what you know and feel comfortable with identity wise , maybe the typical family that lives in Dulwich doesn't feel comfortable with having that imbalance of ethnicity ? Sore point ?
