  1. Slightly off topic but is there a tool to measure the distance to the schools? And how do you know the catchment areas ? Preparing myself for when its my turn next year .
  2. Ha! Just another day on the EDF! Loz Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > OK. We have parents, joggers and dog owners all > laying into one another. 3. I think the sun is causing people to go mad , Goose Green park today and an owner from a pub/cafe came to the park armed with a piece of wood for protection to reclaim an ashtray he said a man has stolen from his pub/cafe . Totally unnecessary the struggle between them both over a glass ashtray :/ thankfully it didn't come to blows but in a park ( the man who apparently took the ashtray was in the park with his woman and child) The owner of said ashtray drove away chased by the couple who were adamant its their ashtray . Bizarre and surreal .
  4. The utter idiot was in reference to the few forum users who just have to pick holes and issues with posters on the forum . You can come on here saying someone attacked you and you get these people turning the thread around to make it as if they asked to be attacked. It's not necessary as they don't need to justify themselves. Who cares whether he did or didn't say something that got their backs up ? Violence isn't the answer , who cares if the dog should be called scary or not ? It was scary to them and that is that . It has been reported . Seems like there was witnesses so the OP doesn't deserve the judge and jury treatment .
  5. Ditto! Someone with common sense ! I agree re the bikes going fast also. It's the same with bikes on the bridge , its inconsiderate. I would hope that joggers who run around the back part of the park are aware that they share the space with the dogs and will be respectful in that dogs will be curious about them. I jog on the tarmac in the hope I don't encounter any surprises with excited dogs and poo. Yes I get the odd speed cyclists weaving in and out and they usually get told by me to be careful. The dogs currently do have free run in the park which DJKQ seems to be missing the point of. Taper , there are leash on signs around some parts of the Tarmac/track area . Not seen any around the back of the park . first mate Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I agree, around cafe and tarmaced areas dogs > should be kept on leads, bicyclists should cycle > very slowly (I see so many power cycling at great > speed) and children on scooters should do the > same- these are all reasonbale ways to behave and > show other park users that we are considering > their needs as well as our own. > > It is the case that the dedicated dog walk areas > in the parks are also used by joggers. 6. Apologies for the errors ( mobile Internet and partaking in forum discussions doesn't really go).
  7. Do you have any children DJKQ? It doesn't seems it , but obviously you are a dog lover . If you read my comment you would read that I said I don't have a problem with dogs off the leash in designated areas but I do in areas like the cafe, tarmac and around kids areas , there is a reason for that , hygiene for one around the cafe , chasing the ducks on the bridge and the kids and runners around the circuit areas . You want dogs to be free to run about and leap up at anything that crosses it path but kids are supposed to just deal with it and learn . It's not a family dog, its not a friend's dog, its a dog whose behaviour we know nothing about and I am supposed to teach my precious child about a dog whose temperament I don't know ? That is just silly . He was never afraid of dogs before but he doesn't expect to be minding his own business playing in the park and having a dog jump at him and hurt because its owner thinks she is special and doesn't have to be considerate and take notice of the signs saying Dogs must be on a leash . There is a reason why there are leash on areas you know ! I am just glad my family all had the common sense to realise this with our dogs. It just bugs me when people keep defending dogs when clearly it's the owners but there is a pattern with some dog owners lacking common sense . I know about parenting as I have a child and I work in childcare so you are belittling me because no on said ban dogs from the park . They have the run of all the back of the park where they should be , exploring the bushes , trees and running on grass , what is the point in walking to the park and letting them off around the Tarmac area where all the kids , bikes and runners are ? It's just plain stupid . My precious child doesn't go in the dog areas and push the dogs over because as his parent I use my common sense . And the poor man wouldn't have been attacked if the dog was on a leash like it was supposed to be . Anyway sorry for hijacking the thread Terri, I shall say no more .
  8. No problem with dogs running around in designated areas but I do have a problem with dogs off the leash around the Cafe, Tarmac ( why take your dog to the park if you are going to walk it on the Tarmac?!) the kids area and on the bridge. My toddler had a dog run at him , jump up at him and made him fall over and hurt himself . The owner was busy gossiping to her friend and the dog was off the leash around the circuit Tarmac area. It was a little dog but scary to my child and enough to make him scared of dogs now. Terri, well done on holding your own , I have been on this forum for years and it still has its shares of utter idiots who like to do nothing but cause issues, don't justify yourself to them As they aren't happy with whatever answer you give . What happened was wrong , and that is that . Dogs and people can be scary , hell, objects can be scary ! Hope you both recover from the shock soon and those horrid excuse of a human being are caught ASAP .
  9. I think you need to learn some manners personally as that is just downright rude . Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Perhaps Mr B can go to GG for a bit of a spelling > lesson, and perhaps some help with his punctuation > or lack thereof.
  10. I am not happy with the street cleaning as my street does have an issue with broken glass, litter and poo . I have had to email to ask for broken glass to be cleaned up after it was left there for three weeks at the end of my road ( I would have swept it myself if I could !) Glad to hear about the blitz on dog poo as there is currently 4 lots of dog poo on my pavement alone.
  11. Glad that it was just a few bruises . It must have been a shock for all concerned . Hope you are ok too x
  12. I did write a complaint about rubbish from businesses not being cleared every night as it was attracting lots of foxes around my road and I also said from Friday to Sunday with the market and weekend visitors there is lots of litter/food just thrown on the pavements ( I am off north cross road ) plus broken glass from wine/beer bottles. It's bad enough with the poos never mind the extra rubbish over the weekend .
  13. I have (looked for myself) and I seriously would not send my child there . Ever .
  14. Anything happening about all the rubbish left overnight on the streets from businesses thereby attracting lots of foxes to my road ? If the rubbish got cleared up each night I don't think the foxes would be a regular visitor as they currently are .
  15. I had it done by a lovely guy upstairs in health matters on lordship lane , can't say if it was the moxibustion or not but my son did turn when I went for my check up and was no longer breech . It's worth a go!
  16. I didn't realise . I wanted the one for Upland Road, the website uses flash and I only have a phone for Internet so cannot access the email address.
