  1. I definitely believe in vaccine overload, I do not recall anyone coming up to me, my friends, family etc and asking us if our children have suffered anything since their jabs such as skin conditions, among others, so just because their studies proved what they say it proved, does not mean it applies to all of us, has any of YOU been asked if your children have developed anything since having their jabs?!. No one is saying vaccines should be banned let's get that straight. We are saying MORE choices in how we vaccinates our children, and that is not too much to ask for. Yes he was struck off, I did not say he deserves pity, but there is more to it than the what the media says, you should know never to trust the media to provide the whole story, it is always someone's opinion, sometimes no one is right.
  2. I was constantly tired and absolutely shattered throughout my whole pregnancy, coupled with 24 hours nausea, my blood levels were fine so I just put it down to pregnancy, but definitely worth having your blood checked just in case. Hope you feel better soon.
  3. Ditto Curmudgeon ! My GP has actually surprised me in this case and advised I spread out my son's jabs, and even advised doing the MMR at aged 2 or later. I was spacing them out anyway due to his allergies, the fact he had antibiotics as a newborn and that I have an auto-immune condition. I think more support should be given to parents who wish to spread them out or give single doses. One size does not fit all. I have a friend whose son is seriously ill after having one of his jabs, and she is working hard with other parents to try and get the Government to suppport parents in spreading out jabs, offering singles and ensuring there are no nasties that could do harm ( mercury/Thimerosal and so forth) I also do not believe that nature is such that our bodies would have to deal with various viruses/diseases at once ( MMR) and expecting a baby to deal with various strains of viruses injected into them at once is too much IMO, especially since they have so many jabs in the first year, this is a big assault onto their immunity. You will also find that Andrew Wakefield has admitted that children SHOULD have their jabs BUT have them all spread out throughout the years, these comments have been ignored and instead they are focusing on his studies that was not done properly. As Wakefield has said he had never opposed vaccination or claimed to have proof that MMR was linked to autism. "I never made the claim at the time, nor do I still make the claim that MMR is a cause of autism," he said. "You are conflating the two things. You are conflating the link with autism with the overall review of the vaccine." ]Quote I have read his research and his interviews and I do not think anyone has really listened to him properly or why he did the ( flawed) study in the first place. 4. Thanks Molly, my son will probably be too big for that but thank you for the offer. I managed to by a cushion for children and have put that in his buggy behind his back for support, so far he has not complained to it must be doing the job!
  5. Yep, the postman did the same to me today, saw him get into his van and drive off after delivering me a slip of paper, I was too late to catch him and demand my parcels.
  6. I have a baby jogger which I love, but there is no support whatsoever for my son's back, he slouches and it looks uncomfortable. I have been googling trying to find something that would offer lumbar/posture support suitable for use in buggies but I keep drawing a blank. Does anyone have any advice on what I could use to prop him up a bit so he looks more comfortable? Thank you. HH.
  7. This was last year, My sister was disappointed as Heber is closer but nope, it was Goodrich for both girls.
  8. My sister lives on Landells Road and both her girls did not get into Heber but they got into Goodrich.
  9. http://www.mothercare.com/Mothercare-My-Brest-Friend-Pillow/dp/B000TM0J0A?_encoding=UTF8& Maybe the Peckham or Old Kent Road branch sells it? My son was tongue tied and it was a lifesaver.
  10. I could only use my brest friend pillow, it is hard , you strap it around your waist, it enables me to use both hands to support my boobs, and make sure the latch was perfect, I was able to see my son latch, and support my heavy breast so he did not get smothered! Worth a go? I get lumps in my breasts now and again and what I do is whilst I am feeding him, I massage the lump outwards, it does hurt but it always works as within the day the lump is out ( my let down etc is usually really fast when I am trying to massage the lump out).
  11. Have you got a breastfeeding pillow for support? It was a lifesaver for me, my big breasts and my son!
  12. LOL great minds think alike, I just posted about it on the thread after baking lots of cakes for the fayre tomorrow!
  13. That is fantastic, thank you Molly!
  14. I cannot open the file, could you copy and paste it instead? Thanks.
  15. Carol said we are welcomed so I shall see you there on Thursday, Jack's will be dependant on how grumpy my little man is! I have not seen you since I was pregnant and came to your place to buy the blankets, sheets, and playmat! See you on Thursday.
  16. Ahh my 12 months old son is too young for this, what a shame as it sounds good!
  17. I agree Lawrence, for a cake that has ready rolled icing on it and some ribbons does not warrant hundreds and hundreds of pounds, most of the flowers can be bought online and even if it is handmade, near a grand is not worth that price as apart from the flowers there is not much 'skill' involved. The ingredients probably are not organic either. I would never pay that price and ?100 for a train cake is shocking. Anne Marie made a train cake for Henry for ?35 or ?40. That is why generally I use Ceri as she does not charge a high price just because she can, her prices are realistic ( as is Anne Marie from Constance Cakes) and it tastes good and looks good. Not tried the others. I did order my two cakes from Newell, they did taste nice, but I still cannot understand why her wedding cakes are so much money as the cakes though nice, were not exceptional, or extra special. Ceri's cakes on the other hands are visually stunning, and the taste is gorgeous! Anne Marie cakes are lovely also. I know there are a few other mums making cakes so I will have to give them a go also. I just have issues with someone from Newell Occasions pretending to be someone else recommending their cakes on here, rather than following the lead of Ceri and Anne Marie and posting as themselves.
  18. That is shocking!!! Try Ann Marie on http://www.constancecakes.co.uk/novelty.html very reasonable!!
  19. Your previous posts show that you know the company because you actually said you went to the owners house to get your cake....yet on this post you are pretending you have not used them... Re: Christening/birthday cake maker required Posted by: Dulwich Girl 24 August, 2009 15:27 Hello Biba, I only joined this Forum today, so I am very sorry if passing on my suggestion a bit late!! There's a 'bespoke cake company' which I recently ordered a cake from for my BBQ party on Saturday and the cake was exceptional!! I found out about them on Yell.com and the company which is based in Dulwich and it's called 'Newell Occasions'. They are primarily an Events Management company but they also supply Wedding and Celebration cakes to which ever design you wish. I went to collect my cake and found that it is only a small company which is run from the owners apartment. The building itself is a little off putting,(the one that looks like a ship) but the apartment of which the business operates from was emaculate!! The kitchen sparkled clean which gives great comfort! The website details is www.newelloccasions.com and they also deliver.
  20. Duppy Town,.....word!
  21. 8 months old baby check is at the clinic, you just pop in with your red book around 8 months and the health visitor check baby over, I went to my GP for my son's 8 months check though.
  22. Its entirely up to you, some mums like to go to all appointments and the clinic, some don't. I have only attended my clinic once, and didn't go to the hearing appointment. I see my GP if I have any concerns.
  23. Oh and my baby was not tested for his hearing either, and I had a hospital birth.
  24. I never bothered go for the hearing test for my son as it is pretty obvious my son can hear, plus just because you have the hearing test now does not mean that they won't suffer from hearing loss in the future, I got ill around the age of 3 I think, and it affected the nerves of my ear, so I suffered from some hearing loss despite hearing perfectly from birth onwards. I think you will know when you baby is not hearing as she should in which case you would just ask your GP for a referral. You do not 'have' to attend.
