  1. Reg are you saying, from your experience, that it is a good or bad representation of East Dulwich? I mean has it altered your view of the area to the positive or negative? :)
  2. Was it helpful? No. Was it productive? No. I'm entitled to my own opinion AND express it if I so wish. I'm amazed at how, with relevance to this thread, the attitude on the forum can change from the constant hard grumble about this and that (including the general view that all political groupings have their failings and even resort to "bitching" about it in quite an offensive manner) yet when a representative, with I'm sure good yet perhaps not the best intentions at heart, decides to join in the discussion everyone hushes and thinks they're doing a good job. Again, whether I am "out of order" or not, I am entitled to say what I think on any matter just as much as everyone else is. I am not hiding behind a computer screen giggling at the words I am typing. I would and have expressed such views face to face to community representatives. I have not been abusive, defamatory, inaccurate, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, or threatening (violations of the terms and conditions of the forum). I have said it how it is in my own opinion. Each to their own.
  3. nope not complaining. If u dont see my point then forget it. No really do. This thread is 4 serious posting afterall *being sarcastic here!* It's pointless. All of it. It's always the same - empty words...Nevermind. Councillor please don't bother justifying yourself for the PM. The contents speaks for itself. I had already asked you not to throw that mathematical rubbish at me and yet you decided to do so. If it really was an important point to make on your behalf you really should have put in on this thread rather than invading my privacy by PMing uninvited. Quiet sly words on the side are not needed. Ta
  4. Maybe one did not need an explanation. If an explanation was really necessary was there a need 2 do it via a PM? I dont recall requesting one or even expressing a desire 2 discuss anything further.
  5. my point is not that canvassing is not done but the response - rather a case of the attitude taken where it is felt necessary to explain quite a simple thing in a simple way to someone they are clearly judging to be... well simple (no keep your agreements to yourselves on that one!) It's too funny really but I guess many with similar views to such persons would not understand. It is a typical, pointless response from a representative of the same party where they feel they must have the last word.
  6. Re: East Dulwich councillor - can I help? From: JBARBER To: KalamityKel Date: 09/09/2009 11:47 Hi KalamityKel, Roughly 30 doors are knocked on for every hour of canvassing for issues. Roughly 15% of those 30 doors knocked on have some one in. So roughly 5 people an hour actually talked to. We've tried evenings, Saturday and Sundays during the day. Sunday evenings. We have'nt tried Saturday evenings as our families do like to see us occassionally. As we have day jobs we have'nt tried mon-fri during the day time. I keep my work holiday for family holidays, looking after the kids during school holidays and occassional daytime councillor engagements. This doesn't seem unreasonable. If you'd ever like us to knock on your door say where and when. Typical response from a Lim Dem councillor shouldn't have expected any better. Yes I appreciate you have family and a life but so does everyone else and don't complain about it. If you can't juggle all your responsibilities...

How do you figure the maths on that? 85% of residents are out when you call? how does that equate to 30 doors an hour? If such a high percentage of residents are not in when you knock have you considered knocking at a time when people are likely to be? Why must councillors always present things in figures? come on like we're interested in that kind of waffle! We much prefer things to actually BE done... Can't say I've had yourself OR one of your "colleagues" knocking on my door in the last few months unless you've knocked on the possible 10% chance that someone was not in.
  16. Tone... I couldn't possibly say. U know wot wiv all the hush hush work I do... ;-)
  17. That'll certainly teach ya for bugging a poor bird (the type that flies, eats worms/bugs and lays eggs) Shame on u wolf*! MM I've learnt from an early age to live the life you've got as it is certainly too short. When u lose someone close to your own age it does indeed wake ya up a little.
  18. Sorry for sticking a completely unhelpful and not quite topical (or is it) post but... this is thread is probably one of the best threads going for entertainment value. B) Can you help? erm...
  19. My point to the link was to highlight what an academy is as it is quite clear there is a strong misunderstanding as to what is expected from such an establishment. I was not aware that only academies were all that was available in the area... surely there are other places no?
  20. Are rich people clever? *chuckles*
  21. I'm quite curious of these "on your doorstep" secondary schools catering only for "deprived" children? where are they? No really which ones are you referring to?
  22. There's one season to go first! winter indeed!
