i,ll do it for 30%. but irrespective if who,s fault it is if the floor was wet and there was a sign down stating so, then as far as health and safety goes, sainsbo have fulfilled their obligation and end of story.

its an ok course for inner london, but the one at beckenham place park is far superior, i havnt played there for 2-3 years but it has a great clubhouse does a nice feed and the 19th hole is always welcome. i dont know if they still do it but there used to be a bloke driving around the course in a buggy selling snacks, sandwiches and drinks, he even when to the clubhouse one day to get me 20 fags, thats what i call service.

Why does easter egg chocolate taste different
spadetownboy replied to spadetownboy's topic in The Lounge
that explains a lot. i suppose you,re going to tell me the same bunnies gather up their droppings and package it as nesquik cereal. -
im presently halfway through "auschwitz, the nazis and the final solution" by laurence rees. probably a bit of an understatement, but they were one bunch of bad bastards.
-
dont know about anyone else but im a sucker for easter eggs and i finally succumbed to the temptation yesterday and treated myself to a buttons egg (only a small one so i dont feel too guilty). as ever it was very nice but again brought up the question i ask myself every year, why does easter egg chocolate taste different to the common bar of chocolate one would buy in the shop?

*Bob* Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > These days it's less trouble to change your energy > supplier than it is to post a complaint about > British Gas, innit? i changed a long time ago from british gas and basically change supplier every year, but the annoying this about these profits is that according to the news this morning, the majority were made early last year when wholesale gas prices were down but bg decided not to pass the decrease onto customers, morally thats not right, bit like not all the banks not passing on the recent interest rate cuts to mortages, and i,m still waiting for those bastard garages to drop their petrol prices even though oil prices are now down as well. right, rant over for this morning.
-
yet again on the back of a 15% price hike, BG announce 1/2 billion profits, how the fuck can they justify this. I appreciate they are a company and need to make a few bob but when families the length and breadth of the country are struggling to pay energy bills, surely the time has come for the gov,to get involved and sort out what is going on. the unfortunate thing is the energy companies have us by the knackers and dont they know it.

i,ve come across "thai,s r us" but i,ve seen it on several different establishments and a chippy back home called "the frying saucer",and a chinese in dublin called "wok this way".

Question for long-term ED residents.
spadetownboy replied to Cassius's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
im here from 92 and while there have been a few changes in the cosmetic appearance ie more cafes and tit-tat shops the place has generally remained the same. i suppose it depends on your general attitiude as to whether or not the changes are for the better but certainly there have been some welcome improvements. the so called change to gentrification came in a lot earlier than what a lot of people realise while it has certainly taken off in the past few years there was a lot going on well before that eg the edt totally changed in the mid 90s, for anyone who doesnt know it used to be split into 2 halfs and was a rough as sandpaper before it became all open plan and wooden decor etc, the forresters was a dump full of manky old sofas. while there have been new cafes and shops etc brought into the area a lot of the stuff on the strip has also been here for a long while and is quite well established. i personally think that not a great deal has changed for the worse but where i do feel that some of the ed oldtimers are put out is when newcomers move into the area and dismiss places such as iceland, somerfield, harvester etc places which have been long established in ed and which serve a pretty useful function. the rough has to live with the smooth and while there have bene some changes over the years mainly for the good, there is not a place in the uk where similar has happened and probably accompanied with the usual whinging and moaning, people dont tend to like change but when it happens you,d be surprised as to how well they adapt to it. we are all lucky enough to live in a wonderful, vibrant part of town, which retains most of its old characterisitcs but still moves on with the times, embrace it. -
aah the memories, but so sensitive are persons to bagging a soft warm one, that you can actually buy a spray that turns it instantly into a cold hard one, much easier to pick up imho.

-
um bongo,um bongo,de drink it in de congo. nothing wrong with buying bottled water as an alternative to a can of coke/fanta etc, but as for buying litres of the stuff to drink at home, well each to their own, your money etc. besides the price of the stuff over here is outrageous, nip over to the continent where its a more prevelant habit to buy bottled water and see the difference in the price, it can be as cheap as 50-60 cents for a 4-5 lt bottle

is that the one at medway on the m2 you are refering to, because if it is i,ve been there a few times before and compared to what it used to be like its now practically michelin star standard.

i read about that in the paper last week and while planet rock has its moments, losing the jazz will certainly affect evenings in spadetown, esp the old dinner parties when a bit of the jazz seems to set the moment just right.

basically it is being proposed by those who know better that if one wishes to purchase cancer sticks, then you need to be a)over 18 and b) purchase a license which you will have to produce in order to by the fags. no license no fags. as an occasional smoker myself,ie a pint and a fag man it sounds a bit daft,as to be honest the proposed price is only the cost of 30 fags anyway,so its not like its prohibitive. i can see it being aimed more at the younger generations who might baulk at spending a tenner for it,but for the likes of the hardened smoker it wont deter too many. saying that im looking forward to the day when i,ll be accosted outside shops by kids looking me to buy them fags rather than 4 cans of skol.

what he done was wrong but in other sports, cycling for example, once the ban is served they are allowed to compete again, and not only that but the teams are clambouring for their signature eg david miller, richard virenque, i appreciate the mindset is a bit different in cycling, but as far as society goes,do the crime, serve the time and thats it and therefore if he is contrite enough and does his bit to spread the anti drug message as miller is,then he should be allowed to compete.
