Thanks ladies, v useful advice. While you're there...he's also stopped going in his cot for daytime naps. He has never slept for longer than 3 x 30 min naps in the day but, like I said, more or less has slept through since 3 months. But now it's all going bonkers and he screams his head off and will only sleep in the day when in his pram or on the boob. Any suggestiongs?

R is nearly 6 months and has just started rolling over onto his tummy in his cot in the night, and one of his NCT girlfriends has been doing the same. Any advice on whether to turn him over (and so wake him up) or leave him to it and so it becomes just one more thing to worry about in the middle of the night? This new rolling over thing has also coincided with him waking quite a lot in the night and screaming (having previously slept pretty much through from 7-7 since 3 months). Have read Snowboarder's posts and all sounds rather familiar...am presuming the screaming is teething, though like Belle, no sign of any teeth yet. Lots of fingers in mouth and gagging!

What is wrong with this forum? (non ED issues being moved to Lounge)
Polly D replied to Josh's topic in The Lounge
Okay, haven't read anything else Josh has written so thought this came across as a bit of an attack. I enjoy the forum muchly and would defend it greatly but still think he was being shouted down for having an opinion. -
What is wrong with this forum? (non ED issues being moved to Lounge)
Polly D replied to Josh's topic in The Lounge
I don't get why Josh is being jumped upon so viciously for asking one question. Is this not an example of how some newcomers or infrequent posters can feel 'attacked' by more frequent posters/old timers? Whilst I don't agree with Josh that the forum and its admin could do better, I can see why a thread about such an awful incident as the fire appearing in the Lounge could seem odd if you don't use the forum a lot, but as others have pointed out, the Lounge is for non-ED related topics, as well as for chit chat. It would be hard to decide on the boundaries if all SE incidents were deemed as ED related, as Mr Admin has patiently explained in the past. -
New Italian deli and tea room (by Dulwich Library)
Polly D replied to Domitianus's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
How can this be out of the way? It's just the other end of Lordship Lane! Will be well served by library and park goers, not to mention us folk who live this end. I am very (maybe too) excited about it opening. Is it called Tea Amore, or Tea & More?! -
Anyone else with Virgin and no longer getting Channel 4 or More 4 on catch up TV? Or should I get a life...and not notice these things? I am missing too many episodes of Come Dine With Me.

What do we think? I felt pretty horrified to be honest. Should the Royal Mail be seen to 'support' any party?

For the past two years Abby and team did a great job organising the Upland Road street party and this year little 'ole me has taken on the crown. Local councillors including Richard Thomas have been most helpful and supportive. In fact they have said they would support us by covering the cost of making the legal order enabling the road to be closed, which Southwark News have agreed to publish free of charge - saving us ?350. We just have to stump up ?210 for insurance, fair enough. Helpful info here: http://www.streetparty.org.uk/ More info re the Upland Road street party to follow in the 'What's on' section soon.

Have been converted to FOTC by husband and a DVD. Made me chuckle so much when I had baby blues. Watching it when feeding little nipper in the early hours kept me going. The best bit so far has to be the 'French' song in the episode with the girlfriends from the croissant shop. 'Voulez fa fa, voulez fa fa fa faaaaaaaaaaa' V good interview with Jermaine and Brit in yesterday's Guide.

What a load of sh**e Snorky. Why should someone who is paying a rate of ?250/full skip pay for other people's mess? Much better to encourage our neighbours to ring the council for them to collect (for free) unwanted matresses/sofas etc. The council is there to provide a service to the community, not a neighbour having some work done to their home. And why do you assume it's for a fancy new kitchen? Could be for essential maintenance repairwork to the house or garden. And I'm sure you would be narked if someone drank your pint you'd just paid for - 'Oh sorry mate, I've got no money but I really fancied a drink and so you're providing me with a service by paying for my drink'... think you'd be pretty gobsmacked.
-
Why should someone who's hired (paying approx ?250+ a fill) a skip expect/allow others to use it? What a load of rubbish (pun intended) Snorky, ???? et al. If you hired a private space in a bar and put a tab of ?250 behind the bar, would you expect people not on your guest list to go and drink from it for free? I think not... And yes, ibilly99, there are other things going on in the world to be worried about but considering the quantity of different things that people get narked off about on the EDF, I would say this is no less or more important than anything else. red devil - I like your style.

Went to the Blue Mountain Cafe for lunch yesterday and found myself wondering whether the staff had read this thread. They couldn't have been more friendly and attentive. It was rammed, so clearly a popular choice. And only a few prams. Yum food, not too expensive. I am loving seeing how the other half live now not at work.

Look, > if some bloke somewhere in the world is being a > knob, just don't talk to him. Simple really. Well said Keef. And HeidiHi, you can buy Wham bars in the shop formerly known as Budgeons. HonaloochieB and TedMax you should have your own TV show - hilarious. I was about to nip out and buy a trashy mag but no need with threads like these.

Some people are less aware of their personal space than others: some of those people might be parents with buggies and then again some of them are people sans buggies standing in the middle of the aisle at Sainsburys, or are leery drunk peeps at 2am outside the kebab shop all over the pavement or not moving down the platform on the tube. The point is this is life and that for some, life with a pram and all the baby faff that goes with it, you are more cumbersome than you used to be with just your William Rose shopping bag and the pavements are not huge, and sniff sniff, life is so hard... Just gotta learn to live with each other maybe, if that's errr not too hard or idealistic. Yep - boobs are out everywhere to feed darling babies as we're constantly being told breast is best and as someone pointed out, why should mothers stay at home for 6 months. I agree totally that pooey nappies on tables, sofas, bars, on my head is unacceptable. But that's another story of course...
-
Well said giggirl. Boobs out in public, pooey nappies, prams - blimey - are babies allowed?!
-
Brendan - that is HILARIOUS!
-
Okay done, thanks Sean. God I love this maternity leave business: radio choices are my biggest decision of the day, plus of course what to have for lunch.
-
Capital DJ just said 'got some great tunes to keep you going through the afternoon now': what?! same ones you've been playing ALL bloomin' day... Girls Aloud, Britney, Lady flippin' Goo Goo Ga Ga, that bloke doing a duet with Nelly Furtado. Right - give me some new frequencies please... what's Absolute's?
-
I've just been pointed to this thread by Moos - HILARIOUS. Poor Sean Mc. You are all so naughty!
-
Oh dear, I can see my afternoon busying up with that bus ad business...
-
What's that Moos?! Love it!
-
Does it only have a playlist of 10 songs (or less) that get played over and over. I can't do Radio 4 all day, I am not my mother...yet
-
Spoke to the lovely Nisha about it this morning. She said 'I have my regular people and they love my veg, I will be okay' - she's right!
