  1. You are all so unbelievably lovely! Thank you for your good wishes! Dulwich Mum I knew you'd have some great advice for me. Ah, feeling the love all around.
  2. Love - North Cross market, ED, ED Deli, Cheese Block, SMB foods, the burgers in liquorice and the Bishop, Sea Cow, Franklins (cos of Katy) - hmmm all a bit food orientated - and of course, EDF and you guys. Hate - the queues in SMB foods, buses being full at 8am, charity shop spillage on a Saturday, the queues in Somerfield and the fact that the fish and olive counters close so early, the fact that the cash points run out of cash by Saturday night, grotty closed-down shops not doing anything and most of all, not being able to ever cross Lordship Lane.
  3. No, thank goodness, I would have gone a shade of red and a half. He asked, I said yes, promptly lost my appetite and got verrrry verrrry drunk. What did you do? I hope you didn't slip up and accidentally land on one knee ... sure it was something much more classy.
  4. The fantastic Gotan Project. Has anyone tried out the tango lessons at the Thomas Moore Hall?
  5. I'm overwhelmed! Very sadly I can't make the 16th due to a prior engagement (ha ha d'ya get it) but if closing is a bit later in the Drum I will try my very hardest to make a last-minute appearance, errr like last time.
  6. How very embarrassing, I'd like to point out I don't think I'm that important but thanks v much for the excitement. It was all inspired by Liz Hurley and her bloke.
  7. Sorry Mr Admin, I'll be brief - Edinburgh, at The Tower restaurant, at gunpoint ha ha ha ha haaaaaaaa. Ah, thanks you guys. Right, back to naughty stuff going on. Wot 'bout them veg boxes going walkies. Still, at least the thieves will be full of vitamin C and the like (probably sick of curly kale actually).
  8. Sorry ... hideously off-topic but couldn't help myself
  9. Bless you Huguenot. I have (believe it or not) been busy working and ... some news ... Dulwich Mum - you must have been on to something with smelly hairy love = engagement rings 'cos I'm soon to be Mrs Hairy Smelly Love! Must have been Bumbalina's choice of wine wot pushed 'im over the edge hee hee
  10. Blimey Captain, that's horrible. KO I don't think I should read posts like yours: someone hid in a front garden waiting to pounce ... ??!! I'm with you there on walking in the middle of the road. I was jumped on and mugged by three big blokes coming out of Honor Oak Park station two years ago. I would sincerely rather be run over by a car than go through that again. CCTV was ... ahem ... "unfortunately looking the other way".
  11. I received an e-mail from a veg box company that we occasionally use letting us know that they have had a spate of stolen boxes in this postcode over the last week or so. They've have reported it to the police and to Southwark Council as it may have been connected to the refuse collection times. These were their words (don't want to go down the whole slander road ... ). Thought it was worth mentioning as the side gate can be a real treasure trove, i.e. dumping ground for other 'valuables'. Be vigilant my neighbours!
  12. Thanks anyway Mark. Definitely up for joining in with the next one.
  13. Lovely. Thank you. Sure boyf will be a happy quaffer.
  14. Yeah, once had a most peculiar salad in there. There's a lovely Polish guy who works there who also used to do (or still does?) the coffees at Honor Oak Park station. Sorry, is that potentially off-topic? Honor Oak is SE23 - sorry!
  15. Bumbalina - I'm going to pop in my way home tonight and purchase a bottle. Would you still recommend Valle Reale Montepulciano D'Abruzzo 2002 over anything you supped last night? Ta PD
  16. I only know the colour schemes Mockney! Promise.
  17. Whoops! :-$ At least I didn't say West Ham ... Scusa. That cake looks scary.
  18. For?a Bar?a. What's a Chinese lead cake? Is that like a Sheffield bread cake?
  19. Why thank you Bumbalina! Maybe he can have two! Sounds good, I'll check it out. Ummmm Mr Piers, come on ... are you serious?
  20. Could someone do me a favour tomorrow at the wine tasting please? 'Tis the boyf's birthday on Saturday and I'm running out of ideas for pressies. If you taste something delectable (must be red), on the heavy, rich, fruity blah de blah side and costing around ?20-25 that is particularly yum, please could you make a note of the name and then post it? Thanks in advance and have a good time!
  21. I know and a Spaniard to boot! To boot ... d'ya get it ... hmmmmmmm is it nearly home time?
  22. We 'talked'(I waffled) about this Mr Clear: http://www.guardian.co.uk/obituaries/story/0,,2020209,00.html
  23. Hello DM No photos but I fear Mr Black may be fiddling with his camera as we speak. Mikewbate, be careful with that iron. I couldn't contemplate such a job today; going to lie down at 3pm when Arsenal and Chelsea do their thing.
  24. Oh dear, I feel queasy. Mikewbate - do you think it's worth ringing NHS Direct? Good to meet some of you last night. I fear I may have waffled on, quelle surprise.
  25. Hi DM I should explain that 'hairy smelly love' is something that dates back to early days with the boyf (he LOVES dogs). One day, whilst trying to persuade me to try to love dogs too, he said "but dogs give so much love" to which I replied "but I don't need or want hairy smelly love ... " so I'm afraid this continues to be an issue in our relationship. Any advice dear DM? Ooh this could be an idea for the Goose Green festival perhaps? Agony aunt session with you. PD (not BP)
