  2. Queues from Oval Tube to Vauxhall all times of day and night it seems, also due to new road layout. SE London is being cut off from the Capital. No tube, trains into London Bridge and Thameslink terrible overcrowded and unreliable and now bus and car journeys just a few miles to the north taking a minimum of 40 minutes to an hour. It's totally unacceptable, but there doesn't seem to be anything we can do about it. And now the Bakerloo line extension is going to see huge amounts of money from the transport infrastructure budget plowed into subsidising new private developments /investment properties along the Old Kent Road. talk about giving SE London taxpayers the finger.
  3. Jeez. people will nick anything

Exactly the point of Section 106 money. I don't understand why the council haven't leveraged these new developments which are going up all along the Thameslink link running through Camberwell, to reopen the station?
  5. I was born in 77, can't believe I'm older than Otta!
  6. gang activity
  7. I like them, but mainly because I grew up with them and played with the toys etc. it's Primarilly a nostalgia thing. The prequels were rubbish.
  8. I try not to think about the calories too much tbh. There are burgers that need eating, what can I do?
  9. I do like a tasty burger. And my mum told me that it's always best to be honest. So this sounds OK to me.
  10. I'm class of '93
  11. No one is trying to ban Christmas. I don't believe that the state should be in the business of segregating children, or excluding certain kids from publicly funded schools, based on their parent's (real or faked) religious beliefs. That's it. Easter eggs need not be effected.
  12. That's such a middle class thing to say

Yeah, it was a good idea, but u dint really like it. Cheers"
  14. Good grief
  15. So a new report (http://www.theguardian.com/education/2015/dec/06/religious-teaching-school-assemblies-axe-report) has suggested (among other things) that "...segregation of young people into faith schools has ...been socially divisive, leading to greater misunderstanding and tension,?. ?Selection by religion segregates children not only according to different religious heritage but also, frequently and in effect, by ethnicity and socio-economic background. This undermines equality of opportunity and incentivises parents to be insincere about their religious affiliation and practice.? Whilst you could reasonably suggest that this is stating the bleeding obvious, it does strike me that as time goes on, we really do need to address this issue. The fact that you may only have one decent, local state school, but have your children excluded on the ground of religious discrimination cannot be right. With an increasingly diverse society, it has got to be in everyone's interests to ensure and end to this nonsense.
  16. I kind of agree. Short of a major, disruptive shift in how the world is organised, it feels very unlikely that we're going to make much difference at this stage. Sorry, that's incredible negative, but it does feel like recycling a few bottles when I go shop at a supermarket is little more than displacement activity.
  17. ..around the 25th December if i remember correctly.
  18. To be fair, SE London is the only part of the Capital with high frequency, fast, reliable underground trains, so we should be able to put up with some disruption to bus services. ... Oh, hold on.

  20. Guess this is the new 'steady state' of things at Elephant. Personally, I think it's good that they've sealed off South London. With no tube, buses, or car transport, we are one step closer to declaring independence from the rest of the Capital.
  21. It's Christmas. Let's all get drunk and have a row.
  22. To be honest, I think it is nit picking a little Loz, although I get your point. What it is fair to say is that there is a broad scientific consensus regarding the existence of man-made climate change. What is far less clear, as you rightly say, is the degree to which it will impact on the world. Let's face it though - it's unlikely to be good.
