  1. It is lightly hopped for an American IPA, that's fair - but I think that's why I like it. I find a lot of them just too much (The Brixton - Electric Avenue I think it's called - is just hard to drink.
  2. Kernel's stout is good (but very strong.. hic!)
  3. Some of Brixton's IPAs I just find too heavily hopped (although I know this is the fashion nowadays).
  4. I really like the uberlocal Brick Brewery's Pioneer

  6. I'm amazed they took on that building. It's a terrible layout. They're definitely doing the right thing by flattening the floor out, but it must be costing them a fortune. 7. http://tortilla.co.uk/ Would be good if this were true. Make a nice addition to the lane.
  8. LadyD your post is unbelievably smug and condescending.
  9. I'm really sorry to hear that standswithfist, sounds like a horrible experience.
  10. It is a pretty good deal. People don't have to join.

I said a 'more consistent speed', as opposed to repeatedly accelerating and braking as hard as possible and overtaking vehicles you clearly aren't going to move away from due to the traffic conditions.
  12. I agree KidKruger, it is about safety. Accelerating hard to get in front of a bike only to brake directly in front of it and to continue repeating this pattern all the way up the road is dangerous. Just keep behind the bike if you are going at the same / slower speed anyway. Why 'buckaroo' your way down the road out of inpatience and frustration, when it doesn't get you anywhere? I drive and I know that road well. Because of the things you mention, I drive down there slowly and try to be patient. I don't acccelerate as fast as I can at every brief opportunity.
  13. When the train waits outside the station they say that it's "being held". It sounds like they're comforting it because all the platforms have been taken by other trains.
  14. Wow. I always secretly hoped, but never really believed that this day would come. I'm honoured Captain. Honoured... (wipes tear from corner of eye).
  15. Wow, this is a shocking revelation. I always wondered what existed in those fabled lands beyond the M25.
  16. LadyD - I couldn't disagree more. There is no hysteria, people are simply voicing their reasonable disapproval at teenagers / young adults fighting and swearing in an area full of toddlers / young children. It is quite scary for a 3 year old to witness a group of 7-8 young men fighting and swearing. Sure, adolescents will do this stuff, but the issue is the setting in which they're doing it. I have spoken to them myself in the past as it happens, but that's not the point. The point is, they shouldn't be regularly hanging around in the playground. Why don't they cross the road to Goose Green? Suggesting that people are being hysterical or implying that they are up tight, simply for disapproving is just excusing bad behaviour and is unhelpful.
  17. Cars which insist on overtaking at speed whilst I'm on my bike, only to slam on the breaks almost immediately in front of me because of a car coming the other way, or a speed bump. Crystal Palace Road is the worst for this. You'll often have the same car over take you 4-5 times at speed and very close only for you to cycle past it again 30 seconds later. Just slow down a little and keep to a more constant speed instead of buckarooing down the length of the street.
  18. Is that true, that if you grasp a stinging nettle hard it won't sting you? I don't fancy testing it.
