  1. We really need to start asking serious questions of our politicians. Why is Se London constantly passed over when it comes to public transport.
  2. You can usually park ok, just not necessary right outside your house.
  3. If the horses are so happy what's with the long faces?
  4. People who can only compute a London telephone number by having you repeat it using the area code and the first digit of the number together (i.e. "sorry... 0207 then what?").
  5. ... well I don't detect any degree of modesty. Being allergic to children must have made your early years very difficult, I'm sorry.
  6. What a tease. I reckon its a used tyre yard.
  7. It is very sad. Really hope that ED doesn't end up just another clone town. Wasn't so long ago that the prospect of Neros on LL generated protest, now there are people calling for chains to come here. I don't get it.
  8. I like your catch phrase... "stay safe dulwich"
  9. Not as cool as 'Ruskin Village'
  10. Wagamama is awful.
  11. Dulwich Park usually has lots of runners in the evening. BTW, the jogging on the spot thing is just about keeping up momentum. Sometimes, if you stop, it can be quite difficult to get started again (at least for me that is).

  13. I am sure TGE are regretting ever applying for changes to their licence. It was clearly a huge miscalculation, but to be fair they probably hadn?t counted on the latent anger of some local residents. Ironically, their problems seem to be largely a result of their success. In it?s previous incarnation the pub was failing to such a degree that it had virtually no impact at all. I suspect, that some of those living near by have secretly harboured resentment against TGE ever since they turned the pub around, (but knew that to complain about a business being successful may seem churlish). TGE have unwittingly handed residents the galvanizing cause they needed and have released a wave of pent up hostility. The level of vitriol and hyperbole expressed on this thread (even after TGE withdrew the application for late opening) must, I am sure, taken them by surprise. It does appear to me that a small element have gone overboard. The desire to draw blood even after TGE took residents? views on board and dropped their pursuit of a late licence, seems a little spiteful. To those still now complaining about people standing, chatting normally outside the pub? bear in mind that it is the recent past that has actually deviated from what one would usually expect... you previously have been in the lucky position of benefiting from rents / property prices that reflect living in the immediate vicinity of a pub, but without the usual level of disturbance one might reasonably expect. This does not mean that a change in that happy circumstance is the aberration. I really hope that TGE don?t come out of this feeling too bruised. It?s not a badly run pub and the majority of those living nearby are pleased that they have breathed life back into it. They did genuinely listen to concerns about the late licence and responded appropriately. I don?t think it?s particularly fair that they have now had stricter restrictions placed upon them than existed previously. Btw ? there is a new coffee shop opening over the road... take cover.
  14. ...but did the ?Tia Maria? have people chatting, in a small yard, until 9.30?
  15. The associated speed bumps do tend to lead to 'accelerate, break, accelerate, break' type driving which can't aid concentration / observation. They certainly do nothing for the environment.
  16. Have I misunderstood something, or is the current application simply for the gin yard to stay open until 9.30 during the week and 10.30 at weekends?
  17. Bare in mind that the alternative is currently a reduction of services from Peckham Rye / Denmark Hill.

  19. Denmark Hill is a horribly congested and poluted street. Camberwell Church Street has some interesting restuarants and pubs on it / nearby however. Many of the streets leading off it are lovely too (Camberwell Grove being probably the most notable). North of the green, Addington Square is quite nice.
  20. Peckham's where the hep cats are at.

To be fair, it's hard to address the ops question without clarifying whats meant by 'Denmark Hill' (shorthand for Camberwell, or the few streets in the immediate vicinity of the station, or the street of the same name?).
  22. ED is 'nicer' (more well ordered, more affluent and suburban). Not 'cool' though IMO.
