  1. I agree with Sue completely. I'm "elderly" and was/am a librarian but though I'm willing to answer the questionaire, I don't understand quite a lot of your questions. Especially question 2. I think you're using terms that your market is not as familiar with as you are. There has been a lot of research, from at leas the 70s and 80s onwards, about colour, font and sizes for legibility for text and book layout, and it was shown that black/white was the clearest.
  2. Work being done on "Stella's" the former shoe shop om North X Rd.
  3. The very large spider that lived in a tunnel-like web in our shed door was found lying cold and still this morning. I don't know what it was, very large and reddish purple. We called it "Cuddles"
  4. Good for Helen Hayes. Let's hope she ha more success
  5. Just read that Royal Mail has made a massive profit. I'm sure you'll all be pleased
  6. Saw a pied wagtail this morning. I don't remember seeing one around here before
  7. The Clock House on last night's Long Lost Family
  8. Post seems to be trickling through now, but we're becoming aware of post that should have arrived in December or so and hasn't. So it's presumably right at the bottom of some heap
  9. I wouldn't be too sure Sue. Think of "Parasite"
  10. Am i the only one who thinks spying on your neighbours is creepy? Which part of the house next? Peepholes to the bathroom? And no, to adverse possession, but a possible yes to trespass and harassment
  11. Yes, I would say you're much more at risk at M & S, for example, which is more crowded, indoors and people there have been known to stop and chat. North X Rd market is currently occupying about 100 yards with newly widened pavements. Enough places will be closing down by the time lockdown finishes, it would be a pity to lose what is, in my opinion, an asset.
  12. Post today! Wrong address!!
  13. Agree as well, vmdgg and trolley Snatcha
  14. There was a piece on the London news last night about delivery difficulties. Looks as if people are starting to realise we no longer have a reliable postal service. Perhaps (perhaps) something might get done
  15. I agree, Nigello and that's one of the reasons I miss shops like Truly Scrumptious. Decent bread without needing a bank loan
  16. I can't see what all the fuss is. It's outside and not much more crowded than Sunday on Peckham Rye. If you don't like it, don't go.
  17. I don't want to spoil your idea, but a member of my family bought a rabbit for their little girl because the mother was allergic to cats. I'm afraid it wasn't that exciting a pet and seemed to be more of a nuisance. The cage needs cleaning out every day and they had to board it out for holidays. If you thought of having it indoors it might be more fun
  18. Looks like "Truly Scrumptious" is going to be another yet another coffee shop. Pity, I think we need a bakery more.
  19. Personally, I wouldn't find people questioning semantics helpful or friendly, in this situation And if two or more people own the car, which is very probable, then it is Our car.
  20. A very large bird just slowly sailed overhead, being mobbed by some sort of crow Hadn't got the tail of a kite, so I'm wondering if it was a buzzard if so, this would be a first as far as I'm concerned
  21. We're certainly getting post now, but, of course, we don't know what we never received.
  22. I agree completely with EDGman. Considering the volume of people, it was pretty amazing. Pity about the cancelled train from ED station so I had to get two buses and the tube to be sure of getting there in time.
  23. Had my jab at Guys yesterday as a result of persistently trying that number. Didn't help that the train from ED Station was cancelled, but still got there in time. Very efficient considering how busy everyone was (unlike the train service)
  24. There's been a series on London Live called "London districts". Just watched one on East Dulwich. Made it look very Nice.
  25. people of the right age were walking into Guys this morning to book appointments. They seem to be taking 70+
