    Dr.Who

Anyone else think last night's episode was a bit OTT? I have a lot of doubts about torture being used as entertainment, espeially for a children's programme.
  2. Not ED i know, but i was sorry to see the Clark's outlet shoe shop in Peckham is closing. Soon there'll be no reason at all to shop in Peckham
  3. Has anyone any foolproof way of getting a decent service from Virgin? I couldn't calculate the hours we've spent on their website/complaints dept. and so on. 3 times "we'll deal with it in 48 hours" (oh yes), one we'll ring back in 10 minutes. (also, oh yes?)
  4. Another recommendation for Aaron. Came when he said he would, didn't waste time and did a good job.
  5. Bank card posted 28/9 arrived today
  6. No-one seems to have considered the increased footfall at DKH station. Anyone who might have alighted at Peckham but was worried about walking to the bus would go on the DkH and that's busy enough as it is.
  7. If any of you are members, beware when you park now. Just had a parking fine because the regs have changed and members, although they can park free, have to register. Husband visited, as he has been doing for years, didn't notice any signs telling him to do so, neither did the staff inform him So we're ?60 worse off. We will probably cancel our membership, so who's winning here? The parking company is the only answer.
  8. The small St Christopher's is closing down. I don't know if this for economic reasons post-lockdown. It always seemed a bit odd to have two shops so near to one another.
  9. Thanks, BrandNewGuy. They're in quite a small container at the moment. I was wondering about transferring them to the bigger pond in case this container freezes in the winter.
  10. I've still got some tadpoles in my pond. I assume they're never going to develop now?
  11. none at GV 10.15am
  12. Non at roundabout garage 15.30
  13. That's fairly typical of out delivery, nigello. Bank statements etc jut left on the porch. A couple of months ago I found a mis-delivered parcel, took it to the right house and found their post just left on the step (actually, it wasn't even their post, it should have gone to their next door, to compound the mistakes)
  14. I've written to HH. We're now waiting for a bank card and also it's replacement as the first one never arrived.
  15. We're not getting any either.
  16. Queues on ED Rd., also at Morrison's in Peckham
  17. Hi We live by a very vulnerable man whose house (privately owned, I believe) is now in a bad state of repair. Unfortunately for both him and the people round him, his garden now seems to be rat infested. I asked a team from Southwark to look into it a couple of years ago, but, if anything was done, it didn't involve clearing his completely overgrown garden I don't want to complain about him, but neighbours with small children have expressed worries about the rats coming their garden. I've had them in the house too Who should I contact?
  18. Peckham Rye used to be a useful shopping street. Not LL by any means, but shops that people wanted to use. With a good bus service. Now it's a tip and as Nigello says, it's not edgy, it's dirty, which is different
  19. Queue all along from the roundabout this morning nearly to ED station with people parked over the crossing, bus lane full and some horn blowing and effing and blinding
  20. Anyone seen the jams all round the roundabout this morning. Very healthy
  21. We had "Klondikes." They were thin slices of potato in batter. Rather nice, actually
  22. Day Lewis on North X rd. said I'd have to book online.
  23. I went to the Crystal Rd practice at 8.00 this morning only to be told that they didn't accept face to face bookings, I had to ring. No-one had ever mentioned this to me before on either of my attempts to get an appointment. So I stood there and she reluctantly booked me a telephone appointment. This info. must have come as a surprise to the people queuing up behind me too. no wonder one has to sit so long at the phone if that's the only way you can get seen.
  24. I can only repeat that you're lucky, Dimelda. I was at the Crystal Palce Rd practice yesterday afternoon and was told there were no doctors there to interpret the letter they'd received from Kings following my tests. I couldn't make an appointment there and then (why not?. Tried at 8.00 this morning but was told I could only book for today, which since I had an all day appointment elsewhere I couldn't attend. So it's back to the queue tomorrow morning. So don't bother moving, ctovey.
  25. I've just been to my GP practice and have to either ring or go there at 800 tomorrow to get an appointment. Anyone who can go and get an appointment just by walking is very lucky! Completely ridiculous
