Well played Pool, not out of the woods yet though. Well pleased Blackburn got a battering, can't stand Sparky!!!
-
We don't start til 9, but he usually cries off when Pool are on the box, in the same way that gooners forego footy when we are on the box.
-
I'm playing 5 a side tonight with a bunch of lads including a Pool fan, so I might have to vent my anger on him for the Arse losing last night. Only joshing!!!!! ;-)

Oh, places and spaces I've been -
Oh dear, is Brum really our second city? Just as well Londons the first then eh!!!>:D< Like Jah said, I really couldn't care less.
-
The fact that the mighty Arse react badly to losing is as a result of the fact that we don't lose that often>:D< but we are not the only team that fail to act graciously after defeat, take CSKA Fulham, Manure, (among others) for example.

I agree Sean, both Bendtner and Eboue were rock solid. Poor old Bendtner had the unenviable task of playing upfront and trying to hold the ball up (Does this sound familiar England fans?).

Le Boss got the team selection wrong last night, but even he is allowed to make a mistake every now and then. I was not impressed with his Fergusmoan impression, Le Boss should be above spitting his dummy out. I felt sorry for Rangers, twice they pulled it back only to be beaten and for Barca to win. That must have been a real kick in the nuts!!!

I think the comment made in a letter to the metro yesterday said the England rugby team were heroes who went down fighting like grizzly bears to the last, whereas the football team were a bunch of millionaire chavs with no commitment to the cause. I think that kinda says it all!!!

Keef Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Roy Keane is a tosser, don't you worry about what > he thinks. > > England are f**ked though, as Atila points out, we > have 2 Arsenal players against us, we don't stand > a chance. If it only it were that simple, Keef. I was merely pointing out that England shouldn't assume that they will walk through this group. The way England are playing at the moment, and the performances put in by supposedly BIG players against Croatia was far from the calibre you'd expect from these guys, and will certainly result in us getting our backsides kicked by any team that plays as a cohesive unit, & that can play a bit. The game against Croatia was a prefect example of this. Everbody bangs on about England being "World Class", so where were these "World Class" players when it came down to the nitty gritty last week? They played like a bunch of strangers. Strange how Cole & Terry were fit enough for the Derby game but not for England, makes you wonder eh??) The game against was a huge reality check, if we really needed one, as to where we are in the world order of football at the moment. We are third rate, and I'll stand by that assessment until we perform in a way which suggests otherwise. You're right about that thug Keane though.

I remember seeing the Stranglers at the Roundhouse in 1978, and Hugh Cornwell, the leading singer, offering to take on all comers after somebody lobbed something on to the stage. Tosser!!!

I think it's about time we woke up and smelled the Hummus. England are no longer the force they were and the rest of the world have caught up as far as quality and experienced is concerned, and in many cases have over taken us. It pains me to say it, but alas it is true.

I remember going to see the Ramones at the Victoria Apollo in 1980 with a mate, as he had a spare ticket and nobody would go with him (I wasn't overly keen, but he almost begged me to go), and spending most of the night at the bar, as the lead singer counted off each number in exactly the the same way "1,2, 3 go.....". I hated the gig but loved the gorgeous women that seemed to all gravitate to the bar and away from the stage.

The dodgiest decision of the weekend was the disallowed goal by Kenny Miller who was a yard onside, lobbed Cudicini from about 22 yards and had it ruled offside. That's just typical of the luck that CSKA Fulham seem to get. Myopic linesmen eh?? What can you do with 'em??

FERGUSON CALLS FOR CAP ON ARSENAL WINNING The above article on the Daily Mash web site was so funny, but, as the saying goes, many a true word spoken in jest!!
-
Jah, Is my poor old memory playing tricks on me or did the boys in blue refuse entry to anyone carry booze that day. I seem to recall that my mates and I were told to either drink what we had before allowing us in (which was enough to stun a bull elephant), or pouring it down the drain. Heroic attempts were made at the former rather than the latter, needless to say we failed miserbaly after necking 4 tins in about 15 minutes and then giving up the ghost !!

Michael, I saw the Who at Charlton football ground in 1976, and the heavens opened for about 3 hours prior to them coming on, I think the Sensational Alex Harvey Band were on at that moment. When the sun finally came out, you could see the steam rising form 30, 000 odd assembled bodies!! I remember going down with a stinker of cold the next day. Ahh memories.....................;-)

SimonM Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > So England will now play Croatia twice again in > the World Cup qualifiers...I bet they win both > games too! :)) Simon, do you mean England or Croatia? I'm not sure England could win against Bolton, the way they are playing at the moment!!

The Who 1973, The Stones 1976, Led Zep 1975, The Faces 1973, Mick Ronson 1973, Roxy Music 1973 (or was 1974?), and so on.

I have just the read the following in todays Times in the column title "The Debate", which sums perfectly my feelings as to why coaching and development of youngsters in English football requires a radical changes at grass roots level. "Slaven Bilic, the Croatia coach, was happy to let England's central defenders have the ball at Wembley because he thought they could not pass. That is a direct reslut of playing on pitches that are too big at an early age, which promotes little technical ability beyond the big punt upfield" These are sentiments I've expressed many times in this thread in recent weeks. I hope that someone of influence, within the English game sits up and takes note and actually does something to reverse this trend!!!

Fair point mockney, as you say there are die hard fans of ALL clubs no matter who they are. I think Jah Lush probably hit a nerve with some of his comments about the TOON!!

When asked to explain why

Its easy to support a club that does well. thats why children support manure/Arse & the like Trust me Snorky, it's not always been easy supporting the mighty Arse, we were woeful in the 80's. But I've stuck with my club since 1968, and will continue to do so until the day I snuff it. Please don't even think of putting fans like me in the same category as those sad glory hunting tossers of CSKA Fulham, & Manure. For the record I like the TOON as a club, but have always despised Sam "I'm not talking to those nasty people at the BBC" Allardyce. He hasn't exactly set the TOON alight has he?
