  1. Sue - sadly it is only temporary and reflects that we have had northerly and easterly winds all week. When the wind returns to the west, the Heathrow flights will resume. I?ve really enjoyed this week - not woken up at 4:30 and have been able to enjoy the garden and the parks.
  2. No trains to my kids school, no trains from the school back to town. Happy Thursday everyone.
  3. Easterlies again today, so nice and quiet. But whenever I?ve been in Windsor when aircraft are landing from the west, the noise has been unbearable. Can you notice it on the coverage of Harry?s wedding?
  4. Article in Private Eye this week suggests a new planning application has gone in for the ground. Does anyone know anything about this?
  5. The applicant PNAM Limited does not appear on Companies House website or on the internet except in connection with a couple of other planning applications.
  6. I moved from EE to Vodafone because I couldn't get reception in my house. All is good with Vodafone now.
  7. Today is one of those days when planes are landing over our heads for both Heathrow and City. That somehow doesn?t seem very fair.
  8. Historical importance: http://www.british-history.ac.uk/old-new-london/vol6/pp286-303#p46 Cultural importance: http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?30,967199 (though any more reliable sources than Jah Lush would be welcome!)
  9. Bike to Brixton and get tube
  10. Suggest you use some bins and some vigilance to reserve a strip of the non-marked side of the road
  11. Between the roadworks on Lordship Lane and at the top of Grove Lane, it's taking about 30 minutes to get a bus for the 1 mile trip to Denmark Hill. Maddening.
  12. Cella - please can you identify exactly which part of Lordship Lane is causing you problems? I would not expect this to be a part which also has pavement which belongs to shops, as these parts are typically wider than average.
  13. Sadly I am more familiar with Londis than I am with Mr Cudi or his friends in the the Crooker family. Original thread here: http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?5,218130,218130#msg-218130
  14. Maybe worth sharing this again
  15. hope no-one is hurt. Looks like it might be 60-62, some of which dates from the 17th century http://peckhamheritage.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/Peckham_THI_Repair_and_Restoration_Proposals_Feb2014.pdf
  16. more detail here: http://www.friendsofdkhwood.org/greendale/green-dale-past-planning-applications/ and in particular here: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B4Ht_hAPixkZM0xZM1dkdWJqbmc
  17. It has excellent apple juice.
  18. @James - it seems you misunderstood Zak?s post. So I?ll ask it again in any unambiguous way: Why have you added to a survey, about a specific issue, questions which prima facie are about voting intention and contact details? I filled this in, with fictional details, and I could not tell easily which questions were optional.
  19. I believe the link below is to the very first CPZ discussion on the EDF in 2007. http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?5,13019 Maybe we should have some sort of birthday celebration after Easter?
  20. Very interesting comments under the Law Gazette article
  21. Dulwich Test & Service Centre every time. I first went there after Dulwich Audi tried to get me to spend >?2k on a bunch of 'problems' identified after a regular service. The guys at Dulwich Test advised 3/4 of this work was not required.
  22. Feels a bit chilling to think that this could be the last season for DHFC at Champion Hill after 125 years.
  23. Janes - is any of this increase attributable to better counting of passengers following the introduction of barriers?
  24. @ Claresy - maybe forgive someone for making a little extra at Christmas? I got a very reasonable price on large bunch of lillies and other bits, plus a free bit of mistletoe (no kiss required).
  25. I got some flowers a week ago from the ladies who used to run Sally's (now Odono's), who were as friendly as ever. They still seem to be making some money even without a shop. They were pretty clear though that a florist could no longer generate enough to pay the rents required on Lordship Lane.
