  3. A Mint Green Transit sized van with something like... "Man with a Van" plastered on the side. Be a love and get the registration/telephone number or better still get a photo. They are in this area helping themselves to other people's property. We had a few items 'removed' yesterday , probably about ?30 scrap value. Our neighbour witnessed this, though by the time she knocked the van was on its way up our street. Also the building site up the road's been picked on. The Police are on to it, but keep 'em peeled. As you do. NETTE(tu)

  5. I think really Thomas is trying it all out. A bit like being a Mod or a Skinhead way back when. You know, you get the outfits, pose about a bit, say what others say. I think he's feeling his way as he goes along, copying the hardcore AR/AV lot verbatim. A kind of 'that sounds about right' stance but without the personal or intellectual vigour to really challenge the thought police that frequent those groups. As TM said himself, it was the Jamie Oliver programme on battery/farmed chicken gassing that put him off. If it took a TV chef to give him a reality check, really, was he that naive before that? He must have had a fairly sheltered upbringing too, my kids have known how animals are slaughtered for ages and the eldest isn't even a teenager yet. And as a child I used to sit on the church wall watching the pigs be slaughtered on a Sunday morning. It's what happens in the country side. Honest question Thomas, roughly how old are you ? NETTE

( as requested ) Nette:-S Ps. It's a brilliant book, there's even a recipe for 'Hot Bacon Sandwich' which if I wasn't on the gluten free tip, i'd be keen on trying.

Mr Ben You know, we know, they know that 'Dulwich Estate' is run by people who iron their underwear. We'll end up having a cup-cake-of-a-shop, just see. As for Marylebone which you have a particular soft spot for, don't you find that a little trapped too. I mean by the time you walk from one end to the other you feel a bit 'nice-ed out' (I go to the area most weeks as I work with one of the companies there) And how many Omar Sharif look-a-likes can a you get in one street. My last words on the matter.... "Salmon/mustard cords" NETTE:-S

  22. Actually that reminds me. I once played tennis against a guy who had one leg ( plus a prosthetic ) He whipped my sorry ass all around the court & to add insult to injury, took of his "leg" and served out the game from the base line. He'd lost his leg whilst fixing a puncture on his chopper ( motor-cycle ) by the road side and a bin lorry ran over his leg. He looked like the guy from ZZ-Top & spoke with a very pukka old school accent. When I saw his brother I remarked on the amazing athletic prowess. He laughed "Did I not tell you, he was one a Sergeant in II Para" "Funnily no , I must have missed that" I said. :-$
