35 a. Returning to posts to alter thenm completely is distracting and confusing but will only (really) annoy one person.

How do you 'see' the Irish udt? (not a philosophoical question) Do you have some kind of Celt-vision goggles that lets you know where they are?

19.1 i a) Smut is always there if you look hard enough. 22. Arguing the same point with an obvious nutter is playing their game. *no it isn't.. yes it is.. no it isn't..I knew you'd say that.. you child.. idiot..* 23. Any insult should be scrutinised for irony/post modern intent before umbrage is taken. If umbrage is taken please keep the receipt.

Courtesy and respect? You have a hidden agenda and I suspect you are not alone. You don't recognise humour, irony or self-mockery (witness your off-piste post in the "Shock Horror - Recession hits ED!" thread that ended up dealing with cup cakes). There are many like you; wanting us all to experience what you see as "a wake up call" to gain "perspective"... really?

Thankyou for the clarification - I am aware of your position and was merely correcting your untrue statement about being new. One can go months without posting but it doesn't prevent one from reading (lurking). As for presumptions I'm afraid I make them all the time until and unless corrected - it is a fault but something bound to happen when 'conversing' with pseudonyms 'is it not?' Another presumption that has sprung to mind is that your delivery smacks of the ecclesiastical and if that is untrue I will stand corrected again. No offence intended. This is, after all, only chatter is it not?

iamhere... You joined this forum almost a whole year before I did and a full 14 months before Frankie. You first posted way back in Feb 2010 so stop trying it on. If you have been a member this long I would have thought you'd be used to the robust style of debate that sometimes ensues and have something to say you would find a way to do so without calling foul any time somebody is 'rude' to you. As for muddying the water this thread is as clear as pea soup to me with ingredients being thrown in by anyone who happens across an obscure stat/quote and thinks they can crowbar it in to support whatever argument they imagine they are supporting and then demanding that others prove their tosh is wrong "Go on, prove it. See! You can't, so I'm right!". All this is acceptable if sometimes irritating (as I also frequently am - not least when torturing grammar) because it's a forum not an ecclesiastical college. Double peace.

And a bouncy castle is positively de trop, admittedly we had a bouncy Hogwarts for Josh's 5th but this year we're going with the Flibberty 'Den Kit'; it's just soooooo Shropshire, do you now what I mean?

I prefer your version - Saskatchewanian sounds like the rhythmic chorus shouted out by the bass saxophones in a Glen Miller song.

Did you intend to stifle irony too? If you want debate without the whimsy, the irony and, yes, the puerile insults then the Drawing Room is the place for such po faced grown-up stuff - here anything (almost Frankie!) goes.

Nice pic of Arsene using his fingers to count how many goals his team have let in...

Love the pronunciation of canoodle - like Canad-le, a rare Saskatchewan form of fondling.

RosieH mea culpa. But I too have found myself bewitched by someone who later turns out to have the ideology of a facist tortoise and you raise an interesting problem with which to wrangle. A 'skilled' tory or a lazy socialist idealist? (I was going to add or a boring neither-one-or-the-other LibDem but that would be predictably unfair and as a result of the coalition I'd like to think they've learned a few tricks). Frankito I notice you don't quibble about my brand being 'Happy Shopper' whatever the dish itself. But maybe I am more on-trend than I thought... http://t0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcTewuIQv67DRsgrhGyWM68ov3YEL1sRk5-tMuWHrXjcB-LbjO1AFvSyxBHSzw

And you need to shower and > brush your teeth. Oh there's all kinds of ugly RosieH. The ugliness of dismissing a person purely for their political persuasion perhaps? This could possibly be a thread on its own - would you rather sleep with someone you found deeply unattractive or someone whose personal political beliefs were opposed to your own? As for labelling myself, yes I remember the times I have been viewed as a half-eaten 'Happy Shopper Lasagne' on the morning after but that really is the point isn't it? When one has a bad enough itch thenappearance and politics are brushed aside in the name of a good scratch.
