It was Whitstable in the 80s and early 90s, Hastings late 90s to early noughties, it is now - (X-factor style pause) - Deal. Yes it is.

    Nutters

The differnce is that the nutters who, in the past, wouldn't talk shinola in the pub for fear of public ridicule or, in extreme circumstances, a slap can now make their innermost thoughts public, before they even realise what they are, and do so in anonymity. To a much wider audience.

    Mr right

Only if Mr Right knows how to get his 'Sears Bush Whacker' up and running from a cold start.
  6. A pub crawl is only really a pub crawl if some end up on all fours and the numbers peter out as the crawl progresses - we've all done the terrifying Monopoly pub crawl in our twenties and ended up blotto in Bow Street/The Strand/Coventry Street wondering where everyone else got to and hoping Mayfair has a kebab shop.

    Rapture

Why couldn't they have waited a week and had it on the bank holiday? Not bad enough that these 'executed-beardy-man' worshippers plonked religious days all over the shop thus spoiling yuletide, summer and autumn solstices AND the annual Easter (a.k.a. Ostare, Ostara, Ostern, Eostra, Eostre, Eostur, Eastra, Eastur, Austron and Ausos)piss up, but now they start inventing new ones! This is quite apart from the fact that May 21st is the start of the month of the Elk for our native American brothers and also the day on which the ancient Roman God Vediovis should receive tribute - though where I am going to find a female goat with all this rapture nonsense going on beats me. Grrrr, bloody Christians.

    Privet hedge

Privets often look messy and patchy when 'trimmed', my advice is leave it bushy 'al la Francais' or cut the whole thing down (after checking for nests, etc) - cutting back to the wood-stubble is untidy and can cause a rash.

New and thoroughly deserved home after terrible season - but main feeling is of deja vu. Now where are we going to find an Alan Pardew to slap a few pampered backsides and buy some lower league talent? Is Curbs too long out of the game? Di Canio too much of a headcase? Mark Robins (just left Barnsley) too inexperienced? I agree re Warnock and don't think even HE is that thick skinned. I fear a Hughton doing a Roeder will get us nowhere and it may take more than a season for the politburo to realise they need to keep their hands off and install a strong man. So... all eyes on the youth team then.

  17. I can't believe someone from Franklins hasn't been on here apologising/excusing/defending etc. Now if it were the Victoria they'd have posted the same day and probably offered to cook you a fresh B&S whilst giving you a run down of the drinks/rooms/food they offer (waits for name-recognition alarm to go off in SE15 and someone from Victoria to rush to forum). Edited to say yes, the above is meant to be sarcasm - but only the stuff about the vic.

  19. So Ba was too tired to sign an autograph... these must be Spurs fans stirring it... what hammers fan in his right mind wants an autograph from the current crop of wage thieves? As for Warnock NO! ANYONE but him. Bilic for preference but I'd even take Mark Robins over nelly warnock.

I hear Curbs is in the frame too. They won't hire Bilic (too strong/opinionated) as they need a yes man they can pay peanuts to, one with the reputation as a 'nice guy' (another Roeder in fact) - step forward Mr Hughton.
