Oh for goodness sake she hasn't been excommunicated just banished to the lounge for a spell - something that has happened to plenty of other forumites, past and present, more than once. If someone chooses to go whether by flounce or through sheer boredom (a disease which I suspect has killed off more than a few long standing posters) they do so because they have nothing else to say and/or no more original thoughts to express and perhaps find themselves repeating the same tired gags (ahem) or punting the same opinions or yelling the same old arguments to/at/with the same old faces. A spell in the wilderness that is ED IRL which sees them barking at buses, chasing dog-walkers and yelling at restaurants, will see most return to the sanity of the EDF bear-pit where - even in the midst of a 54 page thread laced with vitriol and seething with contempt - there is still some humanity throbbing in the rubble. For now though - sing it loud - I'm a blow-in and PROUD!

After a poor 5 points from 9 games up to today I actually got the Palace v ManC result spot on. Newcastle fans must be looking on in quiet appreciation :)

Different selection every day - usually alongside a couple of standards like granary/rye but they make such a range of breads it'd be hard to get them all on that little cart. I quite like that though - never sure what bread I'm going to buy until I get there and have ended up trying something I may not otherwise have bought - e.g. they had potato bread and rosemary bread on Friday.

That's probably Manuel (Frenchman? Glasses?), one of the chief bakers at FP bakery; love their bread, especially the dark Baltik loaf and the rye sourdough. They're there (usually him or his son) Wed-Sat and are hoping to open up in the nearby restaurant/caf? unit and also teach baking. http://www.flourpowercity.co.uk/bakery/bakers/

Or possibly he has chronic piles from sitting down on concrete bollards for periodic rests and had just been scratching his arse.

He (Farridge) always comes across well in shit like this because it's so shallow. Milliband missed a trick by just trying to say the words Prime Minister a lot in the hope people would associate him with the post - I think he got that from an old Shredded Wheat campaign. Green person was stupid, Scots extremist was bitter, Clegg was begging for "same again please", Cameron hid and yep - I'd still vote Plaid Cymru.
-
True - it is pretty much a blandathon. Also wondering if this is the Loose Women studio (although the set-up and music is very much "Going For Gold") and they've left the audience protocols and cues in place which would explain the bursts of applause before and after breaks (which seem very weird in this context). Or is it more Pavlovian? Do some people (the kind who would willingly be in a tv studio audience for... anything) on hearing the words "We'll be back after this break" applaud like demented sea lions without even being aware of it?
-
Disagree - if I were to vote for anyone right now it'd be for Plaid Cymru. Clegg seems to have set his cap at the Tories (again) early doors, and Cameron is getting an easy ride as the debate is dissipated by so many minor voices sounding off. He's probably delighted.

Just background-listening to 'Choral Evensong' on R3 (Kerrang! reception too patchy atm) and the (I think) Apostles' Creed "He descended into hell. The third day he arose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven." That's some wrong fecking turn!
-
I found (almost) the most annoying thing about it to be the tv reporters' reaction - asking any and every Labour candidate/representative "Where's your 100 names then?" - lazy bastards.

Prior to being unveiled officially on 18th April they are squatting inside plastic fencing near Court Lane entrance but on separate sites and more visible than in this photo. I didn't think I'd like them - but I do. http://conradshawcross.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/CS-Three-Perpetual-Chords-in-progress-2015-e1427370925794.jpg

(ED Picturehouse now open)when is the cinema on LL opening?

In other news - while we're waiting - a clutch of the new Conrad Shawcross sculptures have landed in Dulwich Park. I quite like the rusty look of them but earlier photos suggest they'll be 'finished' in some way. That should keep us busy until the flicks opens. ETA: started a separate thread for this - don't want to get our visual arts in a muddle. -
Really TJ? But surely a home banker v Lithuania is as low-pressure as a competitive start can get? Otherwise when does he start a competitive match? If loyalty is all-important then surely not until the others have failed, i.e. in the EC finals when it's suddeny crucial. A point doing the rounds today is that if Sterling had a 'long standing toe complaint' (there's an ironic pun in there somewhere) he shouldn't have been risked anyway and Kane could have started alongside Rooney and Welbeck (though personally I think Sterling did better then m.o.t.m. Welbeck). My point about Rooney maybe a bit harsh (calm down RD) - I think he's improved a LOT for England over the last year or so - just not so sure about him in tournament finals.
-
...until the next finals of course.
-
We'll just have to disagree - Welbeck et al were part of the problem at last WC finals - they didn't perform. Sure they've 'done a good job' against mediocre opposition but then England have a habit of doing well in the qualifying. I think Kane needed to start not come on when the team were 3-0 up with 20 mins left. Starting a game when it's all up in the air is a different thing. Still - I'm sure Rooney's miss three score one approach will see England through like it always does.
-
He's on the bench but not starting Kane is typical of Hodgson's middle-management approach. Whatever happened to putting players who are bang in form straight into the team? I thought the keeping-with-the-tried-and-tested died a death after the pathetic 'Golden' generation?

I think it just shows that if you want to get home safe to your mum then get a 10 year-old to carry your piece.
