I haven't been up NXrd mkt in a couple of weeks or so - mainly because of the absence of Guy Sparkes' van - but I like the little Italian stall when it's there, and the Blackbird bread & cakes, and a couple of other foody ones - okay so it's more a deli-come-foodcourt-come-secondhandstuff kind of market but it's a pretty dull end of the street the rest of the week.

As a West Midlander I know the Tamworth area a little (my Father worked up there for a while). Despite being officially in Staffs you'll find it much easier and quicker to get into Birmingham and Coventry than Leicester and there's much more to do in Brum these days than in the past so you're not totally in the boondocks - and the surrounding countryside is as attractive as anywhere else & with a good quota of pretty villages & pubs.
