  1. There's not much more depressing than the sight of a once loved boozer converted to flats. The Heber Arms springs to mind.
  2. I have noticed that selection of bangers and jalopies. I assume there's a sheepskin wearing bloke somewhere who owns the lot.
  3. I'm with d803cn.. I tied the train a few times this week as my bike was out of commission. It was a horrible experience. I get from ED to Camden Town in roughly half the time that public transport takes using pedal power.
  4. As we are discussing the price of fish, should this be in Lounge?
  5. Sounds a bit odd. While I was on the phone to my wife last week a bloke knocked and asked if we needed any relacement windows or jobs done. She said no and he went away but it seemed a bit strange.
  6. When we lived in Battersea there was always trouble at the Sainsbury's local. I think these kind of shops attract it. It's mostly people trying to shoplift booze and getting caught. Never pleasant when you see violence in action.
  7. Harvester: Neil Young
  8. It's slightly meatier than Cod but well cooked in a nice crispy batter it's rather tasty.. Maybe the good people at Sea Cow will do taster portions for people to try.

  10. Hi Dan I'm going to give you a try. Coley is delicious and I'm sure it'll be a hit.. you just need to persuade people to try it. Maybe put sweet potato chips on the menu too.
  11. No Fun. Sex Pistols
  12. Flight of the bumble bee (Rimsky Korsakov)
  13. -- moved topic --
  14. Doctor Boo (Steely Dan)
  15. There was a car clamped in our road last week by the congestion charge people.
  16. See Emily's Plaice (pink Floyd)
  17. Apologies in advance for this bit of whimsy, but it's a miserable Friday and I need cheering up. While cycling to work I've been setting some almost ED road names to well known songs. So here are are some I've come up with so far to get you started: Underhill, Overhill Wombling Free (Wombles) Dunstans so close to me (Police) Marmora than a feeling (Boston) Frogley went a courting (trad) Any more..
  18. If that car had crashed into the Bishop this year it would have taken out several smokers. Mmmm Ocado.
  19. I remember that co-op. Forgotten about until now.. just had a Green Sheild Stamp flashback.
  20. Sweet potato chips are a real winner.
  21. It seems the only way to turn it around is to stop producing crap food... although it seems that their once good reputation is now fried. Maybe we'll soon see Gorday Ramsay running up and down LL asking us all to give the new Sea Cow menu a try.
  22. He does.. That could be him holding a steaming chip fresh from the frier.
  23. The Fish Club ,who are brilliant, took over the Clapham Sea Cow branch. Hopefully they'll do the same here. Their battered coley is delicious. I'm rather partial to Emily's on North Cross, mainly because Ahmet is so jovial and he does good chips.
  24. Sorry to hear that Mlteenie. I was whizzing around the Aldwich last night and hit some kind of bump in the road which I didn't see coming. It almost through off which would have been very nasty.
  25. I'm a few weeks into my commute now which is Ryedale to Camden. I ride a touring bike and my route is: Goose Green, Bellenden Rd, Lyndhusrt Way, Peckham Road, Camberwell Green, Walworth Rd, Elephant, Waterloo Bridge, Euston and Camden. I sometimes fiddle about through the backstreets but I find all the estates a bit imposing and depressing. The journey takes me about 45 minutes. My old route from Battersea over Chelsea Bridge and through Hyde Park was a joy compared to my new urban hell slog. It still beats sitting on a bus for hours on end.
