  1. I haven't been in there since it was ruined sometime in the eighties (when the horrible conservatory was added) and the spit and sawdust public bar destroyed. I does look nice now though so I'll give it a go. Have there been Forum drinks there?
  2. I used to go to the Heber from time to time in the eighties. I liked it a lot.. good beer garden too. And I had one of those Ford Escorts (my first car when I was nineteen).
  3. Sounds great. If only they had a mobile car crusher with them.
  4. I had the audacity to ride past their house on my bike last week. They shouted a load of gibberish at me. So I gave them the finger which had them hopping about with rage. I really feel for the neighbours.
  5. Camden Town. Takes me 40 minutes by bike or about 75 minutes by public transport.
  6. I went in this morning and had a very nice coffee. Good luck to them.

they're alright jimbo - what would you do in their position? Point taken.. I'm sure I'll enjoy some of the games. I'm just feeling a bit sad our lack-lustre team isn't taking part. Although I won't miss all the stuff that J Two Times points out.

I have to laugh at the desperation of the BBC "who will you support?" ads.
  9. I thought Claire was really horrible in the early episodes but she seems to have taken criticism on board and tempered herself quite a bit. I think AS quite likes her now. I agree that the interview process is always a cracking episode.
  10. I work with Jesse from Hoop La La's mum. She's a Peckham girl so should really get the ED vote.
  11. I think he took his firing with great charm. Nice bloke really. I can't see anyone but Claire winning it now. Lee: Too thick Alex: Too dull Lucinda: Too mad Helene: Too sour faced
  12. I had a chat to the ladies in there on Saturday morning. They're hoping to be open for business by the end of this week.
  13. HAHA.. It's so funny when middle class people start to realise that they are being ripped off. This is a ridiculous comment. I've been there a couple of times and it's been fine. The last Sunday I went they had a few teenagers running the show who were a bit all over the place but very charming with it.
  14. I also note there's a ye olde ED yummy mummy pushing a huge pram.
  15. Back to Cafe 2050. It still looks like they have quite a bit to do.
  16. They'll need to sort the toaster issue out. I ordered mushrooms on toast and was offered mushrooms on bread.. You can't have a cafe with no toast.
  17. I'd love to get in that photo and wander around for a while.
  18. Good to see Si Mangia packed again tonight. Excellent news. That parade could turn into a good little spot. I have high hopes for the coffee shop.
  19. Captain Beefheart's "Too Much Time". This is because I bought too much thyme at the greengrocers earlier.
  20. Anyone know when they'll be opening?
  21. I really like it. The cooked breakfast is great and good value at ?5.60 (inc fruit juice) which rivals most greasy spoons. It can get slow at busy times because the people taking orders also make the frothy coffee which takes ages.
  22. The green looks fine I think. The flaking purple was very sad indeed.. stuck at work and gasping for a pint just thinking about it.
  23. Yawn.. I agree with *Bob*. The term YM is really tedious. They're just mums doing stuff like the rest of us.
  24. Is it still the case that any grudgingly praise worthy South London restaurant review in Time Out is prefixed with "In an otherwise barren area of London....." ?
  25. I had the misfortune of getting a 197 last week. Never again, it was full of noisy riff-raff.
