  1. They are a bit of a shambles. The aisles are always piled high with obstructions.
  2. Maybe the good people at Magnolia will provide a few tasty snacks for the forum booze up?
  3. Can anyone give a proper critique of the food?
  4. I did. It woke us all up. My toddler son is obsessed with helicopters so he got very excited and wanted to look out the window. All very annoying. I suppose they have to chase the miscreants but annoying they wake up a whole neighbourhood in the process. Not forgetting we also have the FHT to contend with.
  5. I love it, it could be a Thomas the Tank Engine character. It passes the top of my road and very regular. It's a shame it doesn't go to Denmark Hill station.
  6. The Goose Greenback?
  7. I second that plan.
  8. I went in last night a had a couple of pints. It was very pleasant. They're going to be doing food next week.
  9. For Anatolian nibbles Tas in The Cut is good.
  10. We often go for a cream tea in the afternoon. A big pot of tea with a home made scone and jam is about ?4.50. I think that's not bad value for such a nice place to sit.. no more that the equivalent in the Peckham Rye cafe. I also think the lunch menu is quite good value (main courses are about ?8-?11).
  11. I think if local people are pissed of with the noise that you (amongst others) are causing it's not really libel. Sounds more like a genuine grievance.
  12. I've never had a problem but we tend to go early before the orders stack up.
  13. It is on Wandsworth Common (although not far to walk from Balham). Lambert's also very good. Neither of these in SE London though. We must have something half decent round here? Is Franklin's not good?
  14. I don't think watching children playing is in any way odd.. it's a beautiful thing. I also think there's a hell of a lot of paranoia about photographing children. I'm a photographer myself and feel this generation will miss out on having our social history documented. However, it sounds like this particular individual was behaving strangely.
  15. Just a bit of a heads up. My mother in law took my little boy to the Peckham Rye cafe yesterday afternoon. Obviously it was very busy with children. She spotted a man outside furtively using a video camera at waist level filming the area where the children were playing. She told the staff in the cafe who put a call into the park wardens but i don't think they got an answer. Then the guy walked away. There maybe a perfectly innocent explanation but just to be on the safe side she's put a call with a description into the police.
  16. What's the most boring list?
  17. That 63 voice really annoys me.. Fry_urn indeed. I lived on that road for 20 odd years and it's Free-urn.
  18. During the Dulwich festival somebody did a bomb damage historical walk. I missed it, annoyingly. The V1 which took out the top of Friern is probably the whole reason why I grew up in ED. We got a council house on the redevelopment of the bomb site and I moved in when I was two weeks old.
  19. No. I think it's great. You can keep 'edgy'.
  20. > When Franklins was in "The Secret Garden" in the > antique shop in Camberwell Road, now that WAS a > roast That was a great place for Sunday lunch. Herne is great quality but very busy with children.
  21. I saw a Silver Cross too. I think they might be the 'new thing'. All the people who moan about Bugaboos blocking the pavements aain't seen nothing yet.
  22. Doesn't the new bakery do coffee?
  23. It's a great little place. I think if they had a nice cafe type awning over the front it would look more like a cafe and attract more passing trade (probably expensive). I'm going to get me some of that German breakfast this weekend.
  24. Hopefully it was one of the people who let their dogs foul the pavement at night.
